    I disagree on your opinion regarding the raised Orient logo on the dial. I feel like the dial is exceptionally clean throughout and the logo adds a level of regality to the the over all look. If it was minimized any more or removed, the dial would look too plain in my opinion. It is one of my favourite in my collection and I wear it quite often. It’s an exceptional quality watch for an incredible price.

      Other than their specs, in-house movement, WR (for the drive-style watch series), decent lume, clicky bezels, etc...

    Honestly if you don’t wear a dress watch a lot or don’t dress up much, this watch is a perfect watch for any collection. Even if you have more expensive watches but they are too sporty for formal wear this watch will be a perfect fill in for the few times you may need a dress watch. Then you won’t feel guilty for owning a watch you don’t wear much and you won’t be that guy with a big sports watch on with a suit. Love this watch and now it’s in the perfect size!

      Hi,
      I like this watch very much but a mineral glass on this is a serious let down. I am considering a Tissot gentleman in brown strap and silver dail with quartz movement. What you say I shall wear this on formal dress and for my wrist size its 6.5 inches..

    • @brett233
      @brett233 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Knowledgeseeker70 it’s a dress watch, mineral glass is more than enough. I’d say that Tissot is probably going to look huge on your wrist. I’d go for this over that.

      Couldn't agree more in terms of owing for the few times of the year you need to dress up. I wish finances would allow me to purchase a Longines heritage flagship which is obviously better quality but almost five times the price. I have owned Orient watches before, the rough winding and loud rotars put me off. This new size is a little hard to resist.

    • @boxlad7583
      @boxlad7583 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@Knowledgeseeker70I feel like people get a little too into really minor specifications like water resistance and crystal. How often are you going to enough extremes that you need 200m of water resistance and a sapphire crystal (I know you didn't mention water resistance, I'm just commenting on the general theme of spec hunting). While I agree it would be nice, you have to consider that for making a watch with this level of design and finishing WITH an in house movement for less than $200 when on sale you can't really complain about anything spec wise because imo that's just asking for too much at this price point, if you want this level of watch with the additional specs you'll prob have to hunt around the $500 mark

To stick with Chronographs, Nezumi and Roue make excellent mecaquartz pieces for around the same money as a Moonswatch. That being said, I love the value that Orient has been bringing with this watch. It's simple, but the clean dial, blued hands, and spot on execution make it a no brainer. Replace the crystal with sapphire and it's a budget 9/10. Even with that distinctly old-fashioned in a Japanese sensibility branding.

    Nice advice, Max! The Bambino is getting better and better every year. My advice would be the Seiko 5 series. I'll never buy a MoonSwatch. Swatch makes better chronos than that one. I've had a Swatch chrono for more than 20 years now, and it still going strong,... But mine is an Irony model, they last and last,... Just to get an idea, I'm on the third strap for that watch, and I don't wear it a lot,... Swatch has interesting models, but the MoonSwatch is not one of them. Now if they made it an Irony,... I don't know,... Maybe,... I saw you at the Windup fair in NYC, and you were very nice. Cheers, Max!

      Orient really improves on the Bambino a lot. You are right.
      Seiko 5's field watches are great right now.
      Don't like the SSK that much but a Seiko 5 field-watch, an Orient Bambino, the citizen Promaster (automatic) and the casio F91-W are like the perfect low-price watch collection. I would recommend everyone these models while starting the hobby because you will get everything you need out of this cheap collection. Heritage, wearability, durability, enjoyment and even the biggest watch-snobs will aknowledge these models.

    Nobody is buying a moonswatch to get the best deal for that money. We are buying it or intend to buy it because we love the OG icon and this helps us own a bit of its legacy design in a fun package with a price tag almost everyone can achieve. It’s not just another swatch, it’s an "Omega speed master" made like a swatch. Huge huge difference. I think it’s aptly priced. Hype they created by making less is not appreciated. But I see their point, it was never suppose to be their main product, this is just a marketing strategy to get ppl talking about omega and get young ppl into the brand.

    I do like the MoonSwatch, but prefer a Sturmanskie P3133 or even P31659 for similar amount of money!
    The vintage Sturmanskie / Poljot watches have incredible space history and still can be found for less than 399€.

    Wish they took the plunge all the way and made it 36/37mm considering this has a tiny bezel AND the movement clearly can still fit in maybe even a 36mm case. This watch will wear a bit more like a 39 with how wide the dial is. This, in 36/37mm, plain polished hands, and without a date would be absolute perfection.

    The moonSwatch is SO overpriced for what it is and yet... I am 3 shy of having them all! That's 2k and will almost be 3 when I complete my journey through the "Swatch boutique" universe. One could almost get a proper speedy (used) for that! MaDnEsS!! But the fun is in the journey 😇

    What is the model number for this one? Since they no longer list the name on many of their watches on the website it is hard to be sure which one to look at.

    I wonder if meybe you can find me any watch that fits with the next specifications:
    41-42MM, Titanium, quartz movt, DAY + DATE and sapphire crystal under or around $600 has to have all of these. I looked everywhere I think I just have to compromise ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Thanks!

    Orient should make this Bambino in a no date version. I don't get them: They make an open heart version without date, but fail to produce a simple no date version.
    Also they should make this 38 mm version in a small second hand version.
    Orientees, do you read me over there? Wanna compete with a Timex Giorgio galli? Then do as I say!
