Orient should have made this years ago.
Agreed. Long-standing problem fixed.
I hope they release a no-date version.
Orient Bambino was my very first automatic mechanical watch I gifted myself when I graduated college in 2018 and its always the brand I would recommend to anyone who's just getting into watches especially if they're in HS/college.
I'm starting to like Orient more over Seiko.
Last decade or two - yes. Before that - big quality problems, plus Seiko had more soul in their designs
heh ...orient and his colours from 80s :]
@@GEMSofGOD_comyup, I have a golden bridge in the dial of my neo-vintage Seiko. Don’t see them doing things like that anymore
i don’t understand how all of you seem to think orient is of the same or higher quality than seiko. every orient watch i have owned/handled feels like some cheap junk from aliexpress compared to my seikos.
@@monstermx4090 Orient is being owned by Seiko since the beginning of 2000s I believe, but Seiko moves its own way now while Orient always strived to touch every design and even perfected some, yes, using dirty cheap resources too often. So now Orient takes more of a central position in design rather than Seiko that doesn't need to prove anything now, unlike in the 70s where it almost canceled Swiss watchmaking together with Casio and pretty much noone else
Such a beautiful piece that looks like a vintage watch!
This is probably gonna be my first bambino, 38mm and 44 lug to lug is perfect for my small wrist. I love the ruman numerals and cream dial.
It needs a sapphire crystal. I would happily accept a solid steel case back in exchange for a sapphire crystal on the front.
The black dial is a stunner. I can't believe it's taken Orient so long to release it in a smaller case.
An Orient Blue Ray was my first proper mechanical watch . A great brand to start your hobby with
I witnessed it firsthand at Narita Airport in Japan. Its stunning appearance and impeccable finishing truly impressed me. The quality far surpasses the standards for its price range. Although there were many popular brands under $500, like Seiko and Citizen, this one effortlessly stood out. I can't help but commend the brand's dedication to perfectionism.
They really need to let go of the date.
I like date. It’s functional. It’s needed.
The date complication is useful on a dress watch and, as executed on this new Bambino version, minimally intrusive.
Be thankful they let go of the Day, that alone is a massive plus for a Japanese watch
@@zplapplapa dress watch by definition doesn't have a date, a watch can have a date, and it can be useful, but it's not a dress watch
I like the date, however, i think a black date wheel on the black dial would have been perfect.
Wow, these are gorgeous. I was sort of ambivalent on the larger makes they've had, despite their popularity as an affordable entry in to the world of mechanical horology. But /now/ they definitely have my attention. These just look so much more properly proportional. As well, my wrist is 7", so I tend to prefer the smaller side.
I think I agree with you on the colorways here. While I love those blue, gem-like hands, the cream feels... off, somehow. But the other three are excellent. It'll be a tough choice between the black and white dials, but either way, I feel I'll be much happier than I would have with the larger sizes.
Beautiful watches. Just wish they made a black and gold one and a light blue one. I'll definitely be picking up a gold. One of my first watches was the ivory Orient Bambino.
Can’t beat gold polished Roman numerals that sparkle like jewels in the sunlight. Loving the sun ray dial man that pops! MAMACOO watches. What a beautiful subtle piece.
Picked up a amzwatch's watch as my first watch last month and I’m absolutely in love with it. Perfect size, looks elegant, very comfortable. Now my only problem is holding off from buying more watches so quickly!
I bought a watch from amzwatch lightly used for my last milestone birthday. Don't wear it as much as it deserves, but not afraid to, either. It's stunning . Good taste, Sir.
I'm genuinely impressed with how close amzwatch were able to replicate every aspect of this very very goofy looking classic watch.
soooo close for me but i still might pull the trigger. 36mm, 10mm height or less, maybe remove the date and it will be a banger. still glad they are making smaller sized watches nonetheless.
Why leave the railroad miliseconds track when you've got a small seconds?? I dunno, I just wanted a smaller Bambino gen 2, or a smaller bambino small seconds (I've owned both). They kinda smushed the two together and it just looks too busy
The milliseconds track drove me mad instantly. Clean up the dial a little and this is a winner.
Yep, easy pass due to that, and the date. Plus the blue hands - not a fan.
We need this Bambino in 34-36 mm range with 18 mm lug width.
Thanks for the review, I have an Orient 60th anniversary (2010) hand winding watch that is 39mm it’s a slim case but still wears a little larger than the dimensions suggest
These should be an almost perfect size for most wrists
It’s really crazy that orient can’t make a cheap sapphire crystal or even a coating for anti scratch capability available? All of Ali express watches have it? Mind blowing for the money if you think about it, such nice watches
Because people don't realize, seiko, orienr, hamilton etc are NOT really good value. For 50-100 they would be. Just buy high end replicas and you get the best possible quality for the price, I swear
Nobody can make a cheap sapphire crystal that's box shaped like this. They're quite a bit harder to make than a flat or conventional dome sapphire and would increase the price significantly. The Seiko and Timex watches similar to this also have mineral for the same reason.
@@rokulus7910 I would rather take an acrylic crystal and include polywatch, still would be cheaper than mineral.
@@timefliesby-jleo474 Fair enough. I think the manual wind version of the Timex Marlin has acrylic if I'm not mistaken.
@@appleratpipethat’s the most ridiculous statement I’ve ever heard. Orient has many watches with a sapphire crystal for a very good price. The reason why these don’t is to keep the price low and it’s a throwback to vintage where sapphire crystals didn’t exist or at the very least not mainstream.
I’ve always thought the cream dial Gen2 V2 Bambino and it’s progeny look better with a more saturated cream color, like one sees in some of the fancier photos of it online.
7:34 WISes are gonna go nuts
The gold is a little too flashy-gold but the other two are 👌
They should do a bronze!
Didn’t know about this channel. Recognised the voice and checked your channel description! 😂
These look cracking as a beginner dress watch. Prices have gone quite crazy on Orient over the last couple of years.
I didnt expect it to be Ben either, pleasant surprise
The “IIII” marking feels wrong to me.
I am on team “IV”
That's why iv never bought one of these 😂 people moan about the date on the face but this IIII is far more important. 5 should also be V
It’s called the clockmakers 4😅
The actual number Romans used was IIII, not IV. The IV only comes into use well after the fall of the Western Roman Empire.
Even Rolex, Patek and Cartier used IIII in many of their models
Now they just have to make a 38mm mako. It's not like they're actual dive watches so no point in trying to make them dinner plates
The black one is the better looking because of the contrasting sub- dial. If the cream dial had a white or maybe blue sub-dial, it would be a real looker, much in photos as in the flesh.
Fine brief video.
Insane that it took them this long to do this, but better late than never.
These are absolutely amazing! Got the 40mm small seconds with a champagne dial, but this black one looks so good!
Definitely the silver & the black .
I only wish the white dial steel one didn't have unnecessarily blue hand. Had it been done in monochrome like the all black, with the only spot of color coming from the orient logo, I think it would have been the top looker.
White silver blue model looks great!
I've recently began my obsession as a watch collector. And i must say- out of all the luxury brands I've been researching, for me the amzwatch's watches are the most intriguing.
The design much better with 38mm, but the price now almost twice the other bambino while it still use the same material and wr, did I miss something that they improve other than design? Because it is now on same price bracket or more than citizen tsuyosa which have sapphire, better wr and stainless steel bracelet.
When it comes to fine imitation watches, amzwatch delivers. I've bought from them several times, and I've never been let down.
I was actually hoping for this since 2017
That Black is now on my list! Beautiful watch.
The only thing that I dislike a bit is that they were made in Thailand (on the caseback) yet they're more expensive here than in Japan.
The black one looks the best with the silver small second dial
id like one without a date
Dress watches usually have dates.
@@antonhallergren588 no they dont
@@antonhallergren588dress watches usually don’t have dates
I get the feeling that Orient is going around their Bambino lineup and making 38 mm versions of each. It happened with the og (V7). It’s happening with the V2 (whatever this one is called). I think it’ll happen again with the Bauhaus Bambino and the others. If we get a 38 mm version of the V9 and open heart, I will be satisfied
Orient watches are awesome
I got a tisell pilot 40mm for £200 sapphire crystal and miyota 90s5 and I am getting 1 -3 sec
This version is gorgeous, they got a winner here!
Who else is feeling that black bambino tho?!
Still waiting for 36mm no-date Bambinos...
They've nailed it. Very tempted to get that gold and white one.
What watch were you wearing at the start?
el tamaño perfecto para un reloj formal!
Excelente estrategia por parte de Orient... regresan los tamaños medianos despues de la etapa de tamaños gigantes.
imagine this coming in a square case maintaining the small seconds, with the right dimensions, itll sell like hotcakes
Why no saphire on bambinos ?
Ben, what's on your wrist ???
What watch are you wearing in the video?
yes yes 38mm finally it is happening
Why do i remember a 39mm version with a sapphire crystal. Not necesarily a "bambino" per say, but in that similar price
What watch you were wearing?
How you liking the VAER R1 Chrono?
It's honestly great. Review currently being written for Ben's Watch Club!
"BWC" code huh? Ben has small wrists but makes a clear suggestion.
We need a rose gold one again like the classic orient gen 2 version 2.
When people are saying #amzwatch is a better option for buying a watch,I very much agree!
That unboring Bambino at last
@@ahha6304
Haha glad to find someone else who can see the previous designs are bog-standard Japanese watch fodder
Glass sapphire or mineral.?
Would have been better with a closed back in my opinion 😊
Finally, the perfect bambino!
You're ALMOST there Orient...put a boxed Sapphire Crystal & a LUMED Dial...and you'll get my money!
@@MrShinobi797 Buy a Studio Underdog instead 😅💷
@@NotoriousK_I_T 😂😂😂. #TRUTH
lumed dial on a dress watch ?!
@@zoltans72Why not?? Christopher Ward did it on their Giant Moon-Phase ...and it was Stunning!
way to kill a watch lmao, to each their own I guess
Now use sapphire Orient! 😂
and prices will go up 100 bucks… 🤦🏻♂️
@@SirMopy
Yeah really, when will people stop bleating about lack of sapphire crystals on cheap watches?
Definitely the black one! ❤
How do I order this in India?
That gold colour model name plzz
i bought a white one right away😅 will buy another black one very likely
Hei please buy the jdm version! Green and blue colour!
Got a link for that?
Quartz version please.
This two and a half needles very nice
would love them in 36 or 35
Love the black one !
Why do watch makers insist on date? Looks so much better with no date. Nobody fixes that thing every mo!
Believe this watch doesn’t have a sapphire crystal.
I love black dial !!!
These are not on the U.S. Orient site
Perfect size
Looks good but poor materials for the price.
All dat amzwatch watches sssssoooooooo gorgeous!
This would be a grail watch, if there no-date on the dial.
not knowing how to appreciate the beige dial in terms of style and it being a strap monster because of says more about you than everyone choosing it over the rest
I want one of these.
Now if they just used sapphire crystal
Even at 38mm this is too big. I would like the same watch with 36mm and much thinner.
Yep, smaller and thinner with no date.
My orient star diver is perfect!. But not the size. If only they made it 39mm or even 40 mm. Than it would have been seriously perfect. Oh well, i still love the watch.
There is bambino at 36mm. It was already available years ago
Same price point with the tissot prx quartz…
Wonderful
Easily the Black
Waahh waaah sapphire crystal waaaah 😭
NO date, please !
Get rid of the date to
Expensive price for bambino
Gorgeous
Fantastic looking watch - but ultimately destroyed by the price. This costs $600 australian dollars - for the specs this is a farcical price.
Ben? Is that you?
Too bad they suckered me into buying one of those bigger versions years ago that looks ridiculous on my small wrist. I’m not going to buy an Orient at this point. Too many good microbrands etc.
Yeah, everyone was hyping them, but 40mm for a dress watch just looks goofy to my eyes.
Greetings, could you recommend a better small second micro brand watch instead ?
If you’re talking small seconds I think the Citizen tsuyosa small seconds would give you much better value for money. Although not a micro brand and since we’re talking about size also, it wears larger than 38 but a great watch. I have a 6 1/2 inch wrist and feel like I can barely pull it off. The Baltic MR watches are great. Probably also not a micro brand at this point. All of the Aliexpress watches are really what I was thinking of that would give you better specs for money and there are almost infinite possibilities. Baltany has a few. I love the 1928 or 1921 (I forget the model) for a fun small seconds that I have. I’m sure San Martin or Sugess have small seconds.
