Rail wins Mountain Bike Rider’s E-bike of the Year
The dirt afficionados at MBR loved Rail 9’s enduro pace and composure when crushing gnarly descents, and praised its superb motor's ability to fly right back up for another go.
Anyone can attach a motor to a trail bike, but a great e-MTB amplifies the experience you already love. With Rail, each e-MTB mode delivers power naturally and predictably across the full range of assist, so you’ll never be left hanging or lurching. The e-MTB mode gives you a little bit more punch; e-MTB Lite takes a step back and lets you do the punching.
Ride farther with Rail’s long-range trail system, which offers up to 50 miles or 5 hours of continuous assist. The trail-tuned boost lets you pack a week’s worth of riding into a single day. Rip through rugged terrain, pin your descent, then turn right back up the mountain for another lap.

Thank you Lloyd! I just bought a Rail 7 yesterday from Trek Ventura. I’m coming from a ‘17 remedy 8 and holy cow it’s night and day. Excellent video!

Thanks, my bike came with the Sram DB8 brakes. They are amazing brakes, so they had to change the component specification for some bikes. I was lucky one. I love the modulation of the Sram brakes. Great video again!

If the 22 rail is anything like the 21 you'll have no problem, I've rode mine and raced mine over a year in all conditions and it hasn't let me down, only replaced tyres and rear pads after 800 mile

Lloyd doing a great job with a rather serious bike here as opposed to cruiser e-bikes. Dropper post a necessity for some. Too bad some of the more active style fat tire e-bikes lack this feature.

How in the hell are they going to regulate how much power you mountain bike has? In which 4th Amendment violating way they are going to check the power of your bike?
