Can you run this again at Low tide, so people can see the wonderful beaches we have Also the Cat and Dog steps were named in 1890 As that was what washed up at the steps, Now it washes up beach balls, lilo's sunglasses and anything else lost
Hi, does anybody know how long it would take to walk the entire length of Roker and Seaburn beaches combined? Or how many miles long are the two beaches? I'm moving into Sunderland soon and I'm out of shape, so I want to walk my way into shape and this video has inspired me to do so! Thanks for uploading!
When you got off the bus from Southwick the shop was by the bus stop. I you were lucky Mam & Dad would buy you a bucket & spade there. Then it was off along the prom to hire a tent and deck chairs for the grown ups.
The beach between the old pier and the new north pier is and was always known as the Bathing Beach, Roker Beach is north of the new pier along to the Cat & Dog Stairs and Cannonball Rocks.
Very Very Enjoyable Video. Don't Get Down To sunderland Much Its Nice To see How Things are Changing.
Glad you enjoyed it

Nice video, nice day, nice beaches even better when the tides out.
Glad you liked it.
If you showed that video to people outside the area without telling them where it was most would never have guessed Sunderland.
Yeah, it looks so nice people would probably think it was Hartlepool.

I hate that monstrosity that is the grand hotel that replaced a little seaside shop I used go to as a youngun.

Pity it was high tide, you'd have seen the beautiful beaches at both Roker and Seaburn all the way up to Whitburn.

As a youngun ,dad always called that area the block yard ,maybe a name given during the construction of the pier
Just glad you made it thru Sunderland in one piece the locals are savages lol
