Stayed up waaay too late watching your videos...you are passionate & compassionate. I don't understand why you would be flagged on Craigslist. I only flag breeders. Don't give up. My mother hates reptile but if i forgot to feed my pet she ll scream at me and told me to be responsible,the one who had this gecko before.. wow how could u treat the gecko to the point his body just bone and skin
We don't know the circumstances, maybe they just didn't know how to help her. There could be language barriers, maybe she got sick and deteriorated fast and the owner just didn't have the knowledge. The real sin is the uneducated sale of these creatures.

Yeah, I have. It’s sad that people can let it go for so long and then give it to someone just to struggle to try to save it. At least she died peacefully.
Reptiles are real good to remember the bond they shared with you knowing that you were caring for them. And they will continue to honor that even when they get well as long as you honor it too.

For humans, we often have to worry about refeeding syndrome when feeding/rehydrating someone that have undergone severe starvation and malnutrition. Does this also apply for repiles as well?

One morning a gecko had got stuck on our patio, and my cats were freaking out, they wanted that gecko, until opened the patio door,they ran a d hide der the bed, I laughed so hard!!! I would like to do to those that abuse animals, any animal, the same way they treated their animal.

What’s the recommended variety of foods for Western Banded Geckos? (They eat very similarly to leopard geckos from what I’ve seem but you seem to know what’s up so I want to be sure)
I'm kinda in this situation but the leopard gecko that was handed to me the tail at the very end is clear looks like tail rot except it's completely clear if you have any info that would be amazing . I got this gecko opening her mouth and eating wax worms w rep vit and calcium powder and drinking now.

I recently took in my sister’s leopard gecko since she couldn’t take him to college. I could tell right away that something was wrong cause he was so lethargic and didn’t move, wouldn’t eat/drink. I did some research and have been trying to nurse him back to health. He has severe MBD. She was only feeding him freeze dried mealworms, no live insects, no calcium, no vitamins or proper nutrients. I have gotten him to eat some live crickets and waxworms with calcium, but then he stopped eating again. I’m syringe feeding him now with Reptaboost which he’s taking well. He won’t drink water on his own though, and I have some other concerns I’d like to get your opinion on. Unfortunately, none of the vets I work with are too knowledgeable on reptiles so I can’t ask them.
Is it a possibility that giving her 4 drops when only up to 2 was recommended for under 25 pounds could have triggered something causing her death? she didn’t gain 15 pounds in 2 days to be dosed up 2 drops or is there another reason you gave her more?

You also gotta be careful with this level of starvation... feeding too much can be a bad thing. Its that way with dogs and horses... gotta feed em small and then work up to larger meals. Really sorry she didn't make it though... this condition makes them so delicate and really it can go either way. At least she had you, and you did what you could for her.

Were you still just feeding the vitamin water slur? That's too many vitamins to ingest daily. You could of OD'd her. You should of done 1 full day of vitamins and then went straight to bug smoothies then back to vitamins every week, then gradually every other week. Too many vitamins could actually block the system from processing anything.

Are geckos able to breathe when they're turned over? I've heard about it suffocating bearded dragons and frogs before.

She was just too far gone. Organ failure at that point of starvation, you don't come back from that.
