Beautiful piece and the aging elements are well done. Just a personal choice but one thing I'd do different is that I would have the same distressed finish on the top as the distressed finish on the rest of the piece. I do like contrast in a more contemporary or farmhouse-look piece but for an antique piece I personally prefer to keep a similar technique throughout. The crystal knobs were a perfect choice!
Turned out Awesome! Great job. I really surprised with the cool vibe Antique look. Considering it was just the one coat white and the white wash. Good choice on the knobs you choose. Well done.
*Very Nice!! Love the use of dark wax in the details coordinating with the fabulous top. Your technique and talent have inspired me to be less up tight when I paint. Thank you so much for that!
Your buffet turned out fantastic, I would like to do the same with mine which is an old piece. Did the paint thinner that you used save you from sanding the furniture?
When using chalk paint you do not need to sand furniture. I used the paint thinner more to clean it in case there was any sticky stuff on it. Thank you so much. TFW
Hi I found this video from 2 years ago. This is exactly what I was looking for. I'm sorry for my confusion but did you only sand, apply the grey and clear wax to the body of the dresser? Thank you in advance if you answer.
I've always been told to use clear wax first then apply dark wax because you can't move your dark wax and manipulate it. Dark wax just sticks wherever you put it and you can't make some places darker and highlight other areas. The piece came out nice.
I love this so Much is One of the Best videos I’ve seen, I felt in loved with the Crystal knobs ordering some now for my Dresser Thank you so much it gave me a better vision for my project 🥰
Thanks for watching. If you like grey with black wax you should check out my coffee table makeover for even more inspiration. Thanks so much for watching
I like the piece. The top looks dark and I actually like the front color a lot and would like to see it on the top. I have a similar piece and am too scared to paint it so I have been watching videos to get inspired! thank u
It is so worth it to paint it. I have another piece at home that I kept sane color all over. I think you should just doit. It’s not hard with chalk paint thanks for watching
Great look - I am really loving the chalk paint I have just about renovated my entire house with furniture ALONE and of course chalk paint! It's vid's like yours that give me great ideas - thank you!
Did you use both the black and dark wax across the front and sides ? I know you only used the black on top. Just curious, I love the color the front and sides turned out. Thanks !
Just found this video of yours from last year. This came out beautiful! Great job! Easy to follow instructions. Hugs from the southeast coast of Florida 🌴😎💙😎🌴
When you did the cabinets and drawers did you just mix the chalk paint and water and go over it again with a paper towel?? I couldn’t tell if you had waxed those with the dark or black wax
I wish you had shown in the video how did you apply the wax on the top surface. Also, how did you tackle the small crevices and painted the back raised top of the buffer
Not sure what you are asking. The wax for the top is applied the same way as the rest of the buffet. You brush it on and than wipe off. I show how I paint the back raised top with the paint and the dark wax. As well as the crevices. Let me know if I explained it well. Thanks for watching
No problem. I have lots of different videos on my channel that might help you out more. A similar one is th-cam.com/video/TxJBOfmKezU/w-d-xo.html I only use one paint an one wax. Thanks again for watching
I have watched numerous video of restoring and using chalk paint. I do not see people painting the interior or the edges of the drawers and cupboards. This seems to be common and acceptable?
It took about three days and just because I was leaving it in between to dry and I was painting it during nap time. You don’t have to leave 24 hrs in between. Few hrs is enough. Tfw
@@DomesticDivaDIY Thank you, I am hesitating starting this....never done before and it's a huge armoire. I have the time right now and will try it, ohh no, here I go...
WOW, this ended up so beautiful! I was skeptical but I have to say, I want to try this. You did say you let it dry before adding another paint?? So did you add more than one layer of Annie Sloan white, or did you simply do one coat of white and top with black wax? It gave it a driftwood look that I am looking for.
I only added one layer of paint and the paint I used was Annie Sloan Paris Grey. It’s a very light grey. Than I topped it off with wax. Totally gives it that look. I would play around how much wax you put on I think if you put too much it won’t give you the look you are going for. Thanks so much for watching.
@@DomesticDivaDIY OH!! Okay, so I use paris grey and leave it more roughly covered, then just LIGHT with the dark wax. I am going to try this on my coffee table! Thank you!! Can I top with more clear wax later for added protection??
Lori Parker you can but you don’t have to. Just don’t overdo it with a clear wax because it will be too sticky. I made that mistake with my kitchen chairs and it took over a month for the stickiness to go away
I like the contrast. Im currently doing a brazilian rosewood gel stain on top and then a color id call royal purple by behr on the drawers etc. All the accents i dong have on my piece would make simple colors better as they are really pretty and unique. I like the layering of different mediums that give a look like this 👍

It’s Annie Sloan wax brush. Thanks for watching

I don't care for the top being different from the rest of it. I like the Antique part, but not this color. But it really changed it up a lot.
nice job...top & knobs a bit shiny...rest is truly vintage chic
I was selling the piece and the lady buying it picked out the knobs. Thanks for watching

Why no primer 1st?
Because it’s chalk paint and it doesn’t need a primer. Even in most red paint it won’t bleed through.
