Birds are very delicate creatures. If you are on this channel, I'm sure you do everything right, but sometimes things happen and there is nothing we can do. On the other hand, there are birds that live in horrible conditions for many years, just in spite it seems. Go figure. So don't blame yoirself. It's just so hard when you lose beloved pet.😢

I’m so sorry Sophie. I had to let my cockatiel go 6 weeks ago, I am a 51 yo rock of a man but I have never felt so much grief over anything in my life. Your story and the way you presented yourself helped me even though it was very hard to watch. Luckely I got adopted by a beautifull baby luthino girl 2 weeks ago, she is not a replacement but a new adventure. All I can say is that, however slowly it will get better. Allow yourself the time and don’t blame yourself for things you feel you could have done better. I know you did all you could and more. I’d like to think Chip and my tiel are now hanging out in some hidden realm. ❤

Chip will be in all of our hearts 💛I fully get what you're going through, this year I've lost 7 birds and it just feels like 2024 has been a really hard year for me and so many people, my health and anxiety this year has really gone down the drain as well. Anyways that's enough about me. I'm so sorry, you spent so much time with Chip and I know he knows how much you love him and how appreciated he's been to many of us. Chip has left a wonderful legacy!!

I’m so incredibly sorry Sophie! I cry every time we loose a bird at our clinic because as a bird owner I understand how devastating it is to loose a best friend. I feel for any owner who looses a pet but it hits my heart so hard when it is a bird. It’s terrible how quick they go down hill too. It sounds like you all did everything you could and Chip fought so hard. I wish I could be there to give you a big hug. In thinking of you all during this difficult time!

Last month one of my budgies passed away. It hurts so much 😪 While last year I also lost 3 budgies shortly after each other. And 2 of them passed away while they were at the avian vet 😪 I was devastated I wasn't with them. I don't think I'll ever get over it. I think of all of them every day.

I am so sorry for the loss of Chip. I have had pet birds all of my life so have been through this more than once. I still grieve the loss of my first bird at age 8. I am now 70. I believe I will see all of them on the other side one day. I pray for peace for you all. God bless.
