    just installed the hybrid racing short shifter on my gk5 honda jazz with the help of your video, with the 2, 2 setting and the shaft at lowest position just like you recommended, definitely an upgrade from the stock. your video had also helped me for a bunch of other upgrades on my gk5, you're definitely the best content creator for all the gk5 owners out there who need help doing some diys on our cars. thanks a lot man.

      Thank you!
      I just went to the drag strip this weekend to test out several different intakes and the pedal commander.
      I'll also be installing and testing out several rear sway bars and comparing price, material, quality and thickness.

    The poor man's version of this shifter with *no* adjustments is to use Buddy Club short shifter for CR-Z(one small fit modification) BC08-RSS-H009 or REVO Technica SS-HCRZ with obligatory Acuity shifter bushings. The short shifter sits _really_ low (with the top of the shift knob under 5") to the point where I want to install a 2" extender. I ended up folding the top excess boot shifter inside for now.
    Edit: Added Revo shifter info

      I believe the WK motorsports shifter can also be modified to work with the GK5.

    Those who purchase the red one also run the risk of having it fade to a pinky orange color overtime if exposed to the sun ive heard. I haven't had that issue however I do have a DIY Crown Royal bag dust boot just resting over tip of the shifter base with the little strings tied together at the top. I did use a weighted Blox knob with this that felt super crisp, I since switched to a lighter universal ball knob because of size and as a gift from the girl xD nice video man. Next video ideas could be the clutch master cylinder from an EM2 civic (clutch delay valve delete), direct bolt on but you have to drill the holes on the firewall larger and changing of the bulbs behind the climate controls as they burn out overtime.

      Good to know about Red shifter.
      Someone on the "Honda Fit Owners Club" was piecing together Clutch Delay Valve Delete Kits and was supposed to send me one to make an install video but they fell through :(
      I have three different rear sway bars to install, compare and test.
      I also have a pedal commander, UDP and seat extenders coming up.

    Hi, I'm in the middle of my shifter removal at this time and following your guide. For the shifter cable mount removal, you can use a Philips or flathead screwdriver and use the s edges and simply use some leverage to turn it counterclockwise and it will stay in place. Then you can lift it up smoothly. The one on the right for me it's actually the difficult one right now haha.

    hello and happy holidays. anyways, prior on installing your hybrid racing short shifter, did you put a short shifter lever, the one without the whole assembly? if yes, do you have a installation video? i recently bought a twm short shifter lever for a honda jazz gd and want a tutorial on how to situate it properly. thanks and stay safe

    • @HondaFit4Adventure
      @HondaFit4Adventure  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi there, thank you for sending me the pictures on instagram.
      I don't believe they make the "Lever Style" short shifter for the newer Hondas.
      The new Honda shifters are connected to a cable that runs through the firewall that then connects the transmission.
      The lever style short shifter on the older Hondas goes through the floor board and then connects to the transmission via a bar.
      If you can't find a video of the GD installation on TH-cam, you can try looking up Short Shifter Install videos on older Hondas.
      The Facebook group "The Honda Fit Owners Club" is also very helpful. Just make sure to use the search bar first.

      @HondaFit4Adventure  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Garluis,
      I will be tackling this subject over the summer.
      The Cusco Sway bar seems to be highly recommended amongst the Fit owners.
      I will be doing a side by side comparison of the Cusco vs the Super Circuit Sway Bars.
      Some other items I will be testing out at the track will be a Under Drive Pulley and a Pedal Commander.
      For comfort, I'm going to try the seat extenders first before I fully swap the seats.
      Thank You for the input!

      Honda FIT HR-V carbon steering wheel from eBay was one of the best comfort upgrades IMHO.

  • @myc0p
    @myc0p ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I recommend trying out heavier shifters: [Mazda OEM(3,5,6) 295grams or BLOX 490(grams)] for a better throw feel. Unfortunately, Mazda shift pattern doesn't match, but it's much pleasant to hold during cold/hot seasons.

    • @HondaFit4Adventure
      @HondaFit4Adventure  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Wow. The Acuity Shift Knob is only 185 grams.
      I can only imagine one that's 3-400 grams in weight.
      Have you tried the Clutch Delay Valve Delete?

    • @myc0p
      @myc0p ปีที่แล้ว

      @@HondaFit4Adventure Shifting from 3-4 gears is pure joy now. CorkSport also sells aluminum shift knob with adjustable weights, but aluminum shift knob might require constant glove swap during winter shifter/radio operations :)
      One more upgrade to consider is to replace the steering wheel with Hydro Dip Carbon Steering Wheel (Fit/HR-V) from eBay. I think Honda would have sold more cars just with that steering wheel {engagement/grip feeling) alone.
      I'm waiting for your new video on CDV delete as I managed to break return spring in the clutch pedal box.

      It's a LUFI X1 OBD2 Gauge reader.
      Here's one of my older videos of installing it in the car. th-cam.com/video/aWd-F-dYLnw/w-d-xo.html
      It's a plug and play digital gauge reader. I have it display my battery voltage, engine temp, air intake temp, exhaust temp and a few others. You can customise the display to read numbers or digital gauges as well as change display colors to match your car, record data etc. They have new one out that's completely touch screen. Hopefully I can get a discount code going.
      I find it useful even for day to day driving. I know when the coolant temp gets to 127°F the coolant light will shut off on the dash and how hot my exhaust is getting on those extended long drives...
      You can watch in use in my latest video at the drag strip. th-cam.com/video/rFq4vTzjHKQ/w-d-xo.html

      @@HanhNguyen-by6dp Ok, that makes sense.
      The Hybrid-Racing shifter did not sit right on the Acuity Shifter Base Bushings, so I went back to using the OEM shifter base bushings.

      @HanhNguyen-by6dp 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@HondaFit4Adventure Thanks for that. I had ordered the Acuity bushings and I will try to cancel them. I chopped up my cup holder but I couldnt really see where the interference was. I think I will just chop up my SEEKER bushings to stock height and see if it will work then. I am surprised Hybrid Racing did not make note of the cup holder not fitting back in.
