Miller Moss got screwed by Lincoln Riley and his resistance to rushing the freaking ball. If he changes the QB and increases the number of run plays, do you really know what made the difference? If he doesn't change the play calling, it might not make a difference other than 2 of the last 3 games are against 2 really bad B1G teams, Nebraska and ucla. The only real game to show where USC is at is Notre Dame. FTFO!✌
Stop it. This is not a John Steinbeck book. Jayden Maiava is not Lennie Small (Of Mice and Men) . He can read a playbook. He's not here to tend to the rabbits 🐇
Riley wants air raid style football; USC is a rushing football team. He is wrong for the program. Simple, it's not rocket science? Find a winning coach that wants to run the ball, and you will win a lot of games.
That’s not it though. He’s from the air raid tree but he’s never coached a team before SC in 2021 where he threw more than he ran the ball. That’s what makes all this so stupid! He’s so stubborn he’s just shooting himself in the foot and throwing our season in the trash.
@@jayrod1980 He ran the ball at Oklahoma cuz Bob Stoops was there looking over his shoulder. Now he's free to do his Air Raid Offense cuz he's got a bunch of Women in the USC administration that give him a leash longer than Riley's contract.
You know I'm a Riley supporter, but in the first half they didn't try to run. I was a bit perplexed when he said at halftime he needed to run the ball, it was sort of a dis-connect because they barely tried to run. In the 2nd half they ran it really well but didn't trust it at the end when they needed it.
USC purchased the most expensive Heisman ever: 90 million aka LRs contract. LR is a belligerent, hard headed individual who does not listen to anyone. Wasted Calebs tenure at USC and destroyed Miller Moss' future. God help us.
As sad as I am about it not working out for Miller, but a change needed to be made. We’re playing for next year. Had we kept Miller as the QB for the rest of the season, there’s a very good chance that Maiava leaves in December, and then we’re stuck with Miller as our #QB. As far as JU JU goes, he’s not coming to USC. He’s probably going to Colorado or Indiana. All we can do is Fight On.
Miller Moss was never the problem as he never fitted in that offensive scheme of Lincoln Riley… Didn’t Harrell Graham just get fired by Purdue? Yep… Another one of those Air-Raid guys! 🙄
We needed this change. Need to see what we have with Jayden Maiava, so these last three games will be a solid test to understand Maiava as a QB for USC. We also needed the change because we need to keep the current USC players, and keep as many of our recruits as we can. And to do that, this team needs to win. Big ups to Miller Moss, he got his opportunity but unfortunately it was in a year where our OL struggled a lot. Fight On! ✌
Happy BD Chris! May you get the gift of balanced offense and no thrown interceptions. Agree with Mar....why was Maiava not brought in for some limited plays vs Washington. Fisch brought in his freshman QB for some short yardage for variety. Maiava could have executed run options from the 4 yd line in. Stubborn Riley strikes again!
If needed, Miller can always be put back in, which would help LR with a few detractors. This is a good move and helps our players to believe LR wants to put them in a good place. Fight On!
Good news is that Riley FINALLY made the change at QB....but he really needs to make adjustments ahead of the curve and before it's TOO LATE. This season is done and Riley should have made the QB change much earlier....
Congratulations Bruddah. Maiava will be the first Polynesian QB to start a game at USC. Jayden Maiava reminds me of a bigger Jayden De Laura (Arizona). Both won conference freshman of the year awards. De Laura 2021 (Pac 12) Maiava 2023 (Mountain West) both were born in Honolulu Hawaii. First names are spelled the same. Both have the tools and ability to take over games Both have a tendency to play alittle wild and will turn the ball over but their upside off sets this flaw.
@jayrod1980 Google the UNLV game Vs SEC Vanderbilt 2023. Maiava lead a comeback. He showed well against National Champion Michigan last year too. I have very little reservations about him. He actually has 14 career starts that includes 1 bowl game, 1 conference title game. By comparison Miller only has 10 career starts. I'm not worried about his ability at all. I'm convinced he will step in and do well.
Who cares if there’s issues with the play book. Riley only calls the same 4 passes and if the book is compressed, good, logic would tell you then to run more!
Oklahoma is in great shape. We are loaded full with blue-chip recruits, and 75% of the roster is freshmen and sophomores. Additionally, it's looking like we have a Top-5 recruiting class coming in for 2026. Brent Venables made a HUGE mistake in hiring BS Seth Littrell as the OC. However, BV (unlike Lincoln Riley) was quick to make a change, only 5 games into the season, when the offense continued to sputter. The Sooners will be back on track (Top 10 nationally) next season for sure.
A former college football athlete that I know, who is like a new brother of mine, told me something a day or two ago. He is a private person and so I won’t say his name for the moment. However I give him all credit for what I am about to say: what could you expect from a quarterback who goes out and has two great games like Moss did with the bowl game and with LSU? You would expect the same performances each Saturday like we all did. But here’s the thing: Miller Moss has had sub par protection from the offensive line. Those guys are supposed to give him the time he needs, and therefore the mental confidence that he needs in order to make those amazing throws that he did in those initial two games that he played in. The ones that we have all of us expected since. However. Starting early this season, he has been hurried. He has been sacked HARD multiple times per game. In the words of my friend who played on two national championship teams, and knows his business around football-this is a different quarterback now, than he was at the start of the season. Decisions are different. Throws aren’t what they were like before. Why? Moss has been hurried and HIT HARD too many times. Miller Moss isn’t the same quarterback as we all saw him as he was before, in those first two games. We should all thank him for his patience and dedication to the team, and we should praise him. Not forget him and move on. There can still be a passing role for him, perhaps shared with Maiava. I don’t have the answers. But what I do know is that Moss has the true heart of a Trojan, a USC Trojan. And whatever happens, he is a leader of this team with a true heart of Cardinal and Gold.
Not scared but it was pure common sense not to come to SC when Moss had that bowl game. Why would you even risk blowing your final season of eligibility? The cherry on top is that he probably got way more money and also a demonstrably better team going to Ohio St.
Before there is a mutiny, Miller Moss needs to talk to the team as one of the leader. Moss had 3 years to learn LR playbook and JM had the spring and this present time to learn it.
