  • The 1ere REG is the 1st Foreign Engineer Regiment of the French Foreign Legion, which is a corps of the French Army that consists of several specialties: infantry, cavalry, engineers, and airborne troops.
The 1ere REG was created in 1984 and is based in Laudun-l’Ardoise in southern France. It is responsible for various engineering tasks, such as combat engineering, demolition, construction, de-mining, water purification, and amphibious operations.
The fluvial embarkation is a type of boat that can be used for riverine missions, such as reconnaissance, patrol, transport, or assault. The 1ere REG has a fluvial section that operates these boats in different environments and scenarios. The fluvial section was created in 2008 and has participated in several operations in Africa and the Middle East.
The fluvial embarkation that's shown is very impressive. It is 9.10 meters long and weighs 2.4 tons. It has two 150 hp Yamaha motors that can propel it to a speed of 35 knots per hour or 70 km/h on land. Each engine is independent of the other, which gives it more maneuverability and reliability. The boat can also be transported by land on a trailer or by air with a helicopter.
