    KARE KARE RECIPE
    Ingredients:
    1/2 kilo beef cubes
    ½ kilo beef buntot
    ¼ kilo beef tripe
    galapong or rice flour
    astuete powder
    peanuts
    peanut butter (lily’s)
    salt/pepper to taste
    string beans/sitaw
    banana heart/puso ng saging
    eggplant/talong
    garlic
    onion (optional)
    sugar to taste
    bagoong
    Procedure:
    -Wash meat and tripe very well. Boil for 40 minutes until tender in a pressure cooker. if your are not using one, it may take an hour and a half Don't forget to add salt to boiling water.
    In another pan, sauté garlic in oil, add cooked meat, ox tail and tripe to water. Bring to a boil, add eggplant, cook for a few minutes, add banana heart and green beans.
    -cook for 3 minutes, add peanut butter, rice flour and annatto or atsuete powder. Add salt and sugar. Simmer and allow sauce to thicken.
    -Serve with your favorite bagoong
    KUSINICA TIP: you may use chicken or fish or use all veggies if you don’t like meat.
