Truly appreciate you did that on a 2003 Road King (I still have a 2004 Electra Glide Classic) All these years searching for sixth gear but that aside we all know its the ride. Good Luck and stay safe.
What a pleasant video! I used to teach in Key Largo, so your ride brought back memories. Riding in the rain in Florida is your rite of passage into adult biker hood!
I noticed the Back of the Dragon sticker. I'm about an hour from it and ride out regularly. I was born in Winston-Salem. I love close to Blacksburg Va now. Pretty awesome to see people close to me.
Just stumbled across your channel. Having ridden from Key West to Alaska myself in late June/early July myself, I am looking forward to seeing your trip.
Lol no way! I thought...😂i thought the whole trip was condensed into this video. This will be good..i can tell. Thanks for the hard work and sharing the experience. Happy anniversary too.
Ha! Sorry for the confusion… I’m estimating 6-8 episodes between 8-12 minutes each. I’ll put them out weekly. Thanks for the anniversary wishes. I’ll pass them along to my better half
Hey, just saw your video. Very nice! We live in Clover SC. This August Me and an old Marine buddy from Baton Rouge are meeting in Birmingham, heading up through Michigan then turning west to Jackson Hole WY and back. Plan on taking Highway 2 there and 90 back. Always like watching others on their trips!
Never go through Atlanta, go around on the loops, in west palm, pick up 70 west to 27/98 south, takes you down the center of the state, ( NO MIAMI BS) 27 to chrome 997 to over seas hwy to key west. ( on the northside of key largo, you have to try Bob's BUNs)
Hello, Chris! I am so glad this video popped up into my feed! I watched one of your videos a few years ago and stopped by your channel but as you know, riding and making videos takes a good long time so there isn't a lot of time to watch channels. However this one really caught my eye because hubby and I rode, he on his 2018 Ultra limited and me on my 2018 Can-Am Spyder F3 Limited to Alaska this past summer. We did not go to prudhoe Bay... We wanted to though! We spent a few weeks in Alaska exploring, set up base camp at North Pole and visited valdez, seward, whittier, Homer spit Anchorage and Fairbanks. I really like how you did this video! I am working on my Alaska series still...😅😅😅... We left July 7th so maybe we even saw you up there somewhere lol. We crossed back into Canada at the top of the world Highway and our first stop then was Dawson City... We thought perhaps the road would be a bit better than the Alcan was from Haines junction to Tok... It was not lol. I will definitely watch your whole series on this because it's cool when you've been somewhere you can relate to it even better. Also, we've been to key West on our rides. We were there last April... We live in Pennsylvania and only made it to South Dakota on our way home from Alaska because in Sioux Falls on August 28th I suffered a brain bleed. The amazing news is that we were only three miles from Sanford medical Center, the only level one trauma Center in the state. I am fully recovered and just started back riding again! Take care and hope to meet you in person and swap Alaska stories some day! @crunchmoto
Subbed. I’m really looking forward to the videos from this trip. Good on you for doing it and a lot of respect to your wife for supporting you (even if she expresses some some concerns lol). P.S. I can’t count how many times I get on the highway and realize my ear plugs are still in my pocket.
I've watched your cross country Ca to Fla before, just watched it again and then found this trip, love your RK, I just recently got a 99. Looking to do a long trip also, do you still have the 5 speed or is it a 6 speed? Does the 5 speed hinder you in any way? Coming from a bike with a 6 speed.
I’m not buying books. All the money donated via the link on my website crunchmoto.com goes directly to Promising Pages and they buy books at a significant discount.
I guess most of the viewers know there’s a few more videos leading up to this one… As far as the gas issue goes, first of all, use your gage to keep up with how much gas you have, if the gage is accurate and most aren’t that much, check it often. Running out of gas once is bad, more than once on the same trip is just careless. You obviously have an issue to get that bad a gas mileage, so I’d fix that before continuing, but that’s just me… Good videos though.
Thanks for watching. Turns out it was a combination of speed and headwinds crossing the US and Canadian plains that affected my fuel economy. Nothing wrong with the bike at all. In fact, at slower speeds in Yukon and Alaska, I was able to get nearly 200 miles to a tank on multiple occasions.
You are traveling across the country and right off you don’t put on rain gear when you see a storm coming? Also, running out of gas one time is just poor planning, more than that is just incompetence.
Truly appreciate you did that on a 2003 Road King (I still have a 2004 Electra Glide Classic) All these years searching for sixth gear but that aside we all know its the ride. Good Luck and stay safe.
I agree - 6th gear would have been great on those long interstate days. So glad I had cruise control.
I am coming back to these. They are awesome, so well done, and as a RK owner... great winter watching!
@@Motorcyclewindtherapy thank you!
@CrunchMoto well deserved. Meryy Christmas and here's to lots of great rides next year for us both.
What a pleasant video! I used to teach in Key Largo, so your ride brought back memories. Riding in the rain in Florida is your rite of passage into adult biker hood!
Thanks for watching. I used to live in Florida. This was definitely not my first exposure to riding in the Florida rain.
I like how your bike is so clean and spotless and then how dirty and muddy it was on the Dalton. Crazy
I'm still cleaning that dirt off 6 months later.
@CrunchMoto that's to funny. I have OCD for a clean Road King and I would be in the mental ward after that
This looks epic! I can't wait to see the whole thing. Just goes to show that every bike is an adventure bike.
Thanks!
What a ride..
My hat is off to you guys... Great video.. Great trip... Safe travels... God bless
Thanks for watching! Hope you liked it

Yessir- I’m down in Charlotte and take RT 16 straight up. The OTR event is in a couple of weeks. Check it out
@@CrunchMoto I was thinking about going. I missed last year.
This series is going to be great! Looking forward to it!
Thanks! I’ll post a new video each week
Can’t believe it took me this long to find this series!! Beautiful anniversary road king! I have a 02 RK myself great bikes 💪💪
@@codystrom8708 thanks! I’m glad you found it
This looks like an awesome trip!! Definitely checking out the rest of the series.
Please do! Hope you enjoy it.
Epic journey. Thanks for sharing!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Florida summers are very rainy. Usually, the rains come out if the west in the late afternoon or evening.
Yep. Lived there for years. You could set your watch by them.
4:30, Downtown Jacksonville, my hometown, born and raised.
Nice 👍🏼 thanks for watching

Nice! I see you are Hoka Hey rider. I’d love that challenge some day
Good video. You are the man, 21 year old bike, real touring.
Right on!
I rode my bike to trailer week.haa haa haa, that's a good one.I hope everything goes alright and nobody gets hurt
Thanks! I’m happy to report the bike and I made it mostly unscathed.

@@CrunchMoto no worries mate!
Just stumbled upon this series. Of course it was raining in Jax. You were mere blocks from my house as you crossed the bridge in downtown Jax.
Yep, gotta love those afternoon FL rain storms. Thanks for watching. I’ll post new episodes every Tuesday
Thank you, great clip. Can't wait for more
Working on the next one right now.

Just subbed. I'm riding to Prudhoe Bay next summer but from the Black Hills, SD so not as far of a ride.
Enjoy! It’s quite the adventure
Making me envious.
Do it!
Deadhorse on a Harley, Ok, have fun. Enjoy the ride
That’s what they all told me too.

Freaking masterful. Great intro video. Editing is top knotch. Only issue is my mom says I should be featured more. Moms.
By far, the most asked question I get is, “who is that guy who rode with you in the beginning?”
AWESOME!! Got here from your Reddit post, BTW
Hey, thanks! Welcome

Awesome! Thanks for watching. Yes- I have the 5speed. A 6th gear would have been nice for high-speed highway cruising, otherwise the 5 was fine.
@@CrunchMoto thank you for your response! Stay safe and can't wait to see your next adventure.
Is there a secret to the Go Pro...I took a trip to Florida to Boston a couple years ago and would get about 20 minutes out of the battery.
My secret is to only record about 5-10 seconds at a time while riding past interesting things. That also makes editing easier.
So I am getting ready to do this trip from Tampa Florida to Alaska in mid June, so did you ever really need the gas cans in your tour pack?
Ha! Wait until you get further into the series! 🤣
Yeah you were right about wait till you get further in the series. That’s funny. Looks like you had a great trip. I can’t wait.
Are you in Charlotte NC. I'm just north in Mount Airy

@@CrunchMoto wish I had the time and money to do the trips you do
They say you need an adventure bike to do this trip, but if you truly want an adventure, do it on a Harley Davidson!
Exactly!
WOW!!!!
Thanks!
What type of books are you buying?
I’m not buying books. All the money donated via the link on my website crunchmoto.com goes directly to Promising Pages and they buy books at a significant discount.
What was the total cost of the trip?
Ballpark… $8,000 including all flights hotels shipping food and everything.
@ do you happen to know the price of ride from florida to alaska part only?
Dude what is your name? Lol Didn't see you mention your name anywhere, not sure if that's for a reason.
Ha- thanks for watching. My name is Chris
