Loved this! My first tarot teacher told me to put the books away for one year and develop a personal relationship with the cards then learn the traditional meanings. I'm glad now that I did that.
I haven't taken quite that long to do that, but I certainly also started with looking through the (RWS) cards, and thinking about what those cards mean to me. Only after that, I studied them in a more traditional way using books
My best tip tip is reflecting on things that happen around me, people that I know, feelings associated with events and then trying to describe those things with cards. It’s almost “backwards” from the classical, 1card reading or 3 cards for the day that is also a good integration of cards in a daily practice but maybe not stimulating as much (for me...)
You should definitely write a Tarot Workbook. So many times you say something so stunning that I need to pause a video and write it down. Please write a book with your vision of Tarot 😇🌝
Love when a video recommendation pops along and its one of yours I havent seen. Read a card in light and read a card in shadow, positive and negative. Such good advice for anyone at any stage of their tarot/oracle journey. Thank you Anna as always 🙏💜🙏
I literally just found your channel and I am so pleased I have. As a total beginner this video has made by far the most sense to me. Will be working my way through all of your others. Thanks for such great content.
I grabbed a notebook and pen and took notes throughout this video! I am also off to go watch all of your other videos that you have mentioned here. I truly appreciate all of the tips and information you share here on your channel. You are an excellent teacher/guide. Much love to you, Anna! 🌟🌟🌟-Angela
@@AstralLadyTarot O, yeah I did.. found out later. I appreciated it. That was really helpful to add subs. Loving your channel soooo much! 💗 You are so warm... 🌻🌻🌻 Love ur decks too.. Trionfi della Luna Omg! So beautiful deck! 😍
great video. love the mythic tarot book (it was my first deck ). yes, i found my own way of reading and that's just what i do regardless of what deck i use. i tried doing daily draws, buuuuuut that's not for me. aaaaand, i don't journal either (i know...i know). rmp's book is really great and i recommend it. yes! comparing cards from different decks. wonderful! i never read for others and i never ask questions. so, it's very important to understand the full spectrum of the cards.
That was super interesting, Anna! As deck collectors, I think it's wonderful to see how the same symbols in a card are expressed in different decks! Btw, I've always done some of the things you said, like picking a card in the morning to represent my day and seeing how that card played out in my day in the evening. It works beautifully! Thanks for sharing! 💚
Great study tips - yes I often feel like these practices give me a deeper insight into potential card meanings - especially working day to day with a deck and analysing how the card played out for me in my day - sometimes its like an inversed meaning somehow - not really a reversal but just like a different perspective and it's fascinating. Really helps with tapping into intuition during readings too I think. Lovely video thank you for sharing Anna 🙏 😊 💓 xx
Yesterday for the first time I saw the death of someone pulling the cards on my own. I wasn't sure of it but there is that voice... no no that is it. And you are right. The same card was in a spread before for my sister and in there it meant she was travelling to the beach and she went without telling me. Cards do have totally different meanings. So, maybe we could talk about bad omens then? What you do when you see something really bad? Thanks for the studying ideas. Xx
Thank you so much for the video, it was my wish to hear you talk about your approach and I loved it! It reminded me to get back into the wonderful universe of tarot, after a few months of not touching the cards! Now I feel this renewed sense of joy and curiosity! 😊
I actually almost hate sun and star cards because I never feel them you know? I know their meanings but I can't connect them to the question or the reading. So this video helped me both with studying and the sun card itself! What I'm trying to say is double thanks 😂
A tip I gleaned from reading Jodorowski is to find something in one card that relates it back to another one. For instance in the Sasuraibito deck, the Wheel of Fortune shows a compass with 8 points which brings us to the Strength card. How do those two relate? What can we learn about the Wheel through Strength and vice versa? Then Strength has one wee heart on her elbow which can lead us to the Ace of Cups. How does the Ace relate to Strength and the Wheel. It can be really illuminating finding these connections.
Great video, Anna. Watching your video, I have pulled out my RWS deck and searched for all the cards with the sun on it - it's only on the three or four other major cards (depends whether you consider the shiny crown in the Temperance as the sun), but not on the minors. Obviously there's some powerful energy. So interesting! Now I ended up doing the "weather" map of RWS - sunny cards, cloudy cards, night cards.... :))
Really nice video! I love to learn the cards by comparing the same cards from other decks as well! And I too first explore and interpret them with and through my self before I go to the books. The pathwork method is one that I heard off, but haven’ done yet. Thanks for the reminder because I’d like to do that as well.. really nice meditation tool! 💖
I agree! Sitting with, and visiting the cards first to allow my own intuition to study and observe the cards is a very important process in how I connect with my decks. Yes, having the foundation of knowledge is important, and to add to that the creator of the deck sometimes has additional layers of meaning to add, but my intuition is where it all begins with me. Refreshing to hear you do this as well. I have not done the pathwork exercise yet either, but I am off to check out Anna's video on this. Nice to see you here in the comments! 💖💖-Angela
Taking notes, here. 📝😅 So good! Great tips to maximize our practice! 🎉 Gosh, this was fun! 😚😙 So many ways to explore. I sometimes forget to just HAVE FUN with my cards.... right?! And, therefore, it's fun learning something within all that. 🙄😁
Great video as always...absolutely adore your tarot vibes. You hit the nail on the head with all of the tips. I process things more intuitively rather than analytically, so all of these processes you speak of are how I learned tarot. I of course used whatever guidebook the deck came with as a reference tool but never actually studied tarot as a student until recent months. I’m now learning Thoth...which is a total student like system and enjoying it, with my own twist of course. Balance is key...so enjoying the analytical aspect of my studies too. Another way I work with my decks is in a mediumship approach. I ask for messages from ancestors that I knew in real life (passed pets too) and it’s a pretty mind blowing and exciting experience when you pull cards that symbolize something about that person/pet. Obviously that won’t line up with everyone’s point of view but it sure is interesting. I also bond more deeply with my decks that deliver in that manner, which is the majority of them. Btw...I’m the mom to your tarot of the crone and vintage Spanish tarot and u4elements on IG in case you wanted to put a face with this comment : )
Thanks very much for this video Anna! I couldn't resist the smile when you chose The Sun card as an example- truth is, it is the only card from the Trionfi della luna paradoxical that I have an issue with! I bought this deck thanks to you😘...well, and maybe thanks to The High Pristess becous she didn't want to go out of my head😅... Problem with The Sun is that I see only the shadow side and even with not the worse sense of humor, it's somehow hard for me to find a positive aspect in it... Have you ever had any similar doubts with this image or it's only me? In this case it would mean it is some shadow to work on🙃😴...
I know what you mean with having an issue with a particular card, whether it's the archetype itself or a specific depiction. Do you think it's due to the one twin reaching into the other twin's chest? I feel that it's no different than more traditional Marseille Sun cards, implying they support one another and I think that: the Sun giving life to everything, we can also "give life" to people who need it, or a project. In the Trionfi card we just see it happening in a somewhat explicit manner. Compare it to that deck's arcanum number 13: there is a child coming out of Death's belly. Perhaps right there, we have Life and Death, which can be considered just a shifting of energy
@@AstralLadyTarot Thanks Anna. That's true, my problem was this reaching hands and that The Sun seemed to be so angry and punishing... But when I think of it now- you are so right... I should think what this gesture means in other Marseilles😖... Now I start to think of his anger as a "preaching lesson" and reminder for us to not only take but also to give and that we are responsible for all living beings... Sun and Death... Exchange of energy... So good to "have" you here😚!!! (To say the truth: I love the Death card😁)
@@AstralLadyTarot Dear Anna have you already done a "Trionfi Map"? After my path working with the Knight of Coins (surprisingly it occurred this flames which we see at the back of the city was coming from...the "State Tournament"🥴 however my Knight refused to take part in it and didn't want to fight- instead he took me for a walk through the town. At the end we passed the gates, crossed the river and went to see his gardens... And his Dragon occurred to be the sweetest, kind and playful creature in the world😄) I still have such a question at the back of myhead: I would love to know how does Anna see it😘🤔😜!
