In the Orthodox Church, we have a Gospel book that is covered in gold, and has lots of images. It's used for reading the Gospel during Church services. The Litirgical Gospel existed for a very long time.

Truth! It really truly is a game changing Bible. The commentary is awesome and really makes the reading so much more enjoyable. I bought the paperbound version and the price is way less.
Bishop Robert barron is in my archdiocese. I plan to get a copy. I like the Ignatius bible. There is an edition with commentaries on each book. Scott Hahn recommends this Bible. Scott Hahn is a former evangelical minister turned Catholic. He teaches scripture at the Franciscan university of Steubenville.

Great endorsement of what looks like an amazing addition to my Bible collection! What would be really cool if a version of the Bible could be arranged such that the narrative of the New Testament is juxtaposed directly against the Old within the text. Kind of Tarintino / Scorses type writing style (I know, not the best people to emulate but the Bible is filled with some incredibly crazy stuff, so if the shoe fits) 😉. What's happening in one scene is back to back with something completely different but complimentary. That way it could possibly be more clear without breaking readers' (like myself) attention by looking at the footnotes which are abbreviated for space. Just a thought. God bless!!

I am new to this channel, but I have learned so much about the Catholic Church through your channel over the last several days. I grew up in Protestants churches of different kinds and wanted to learn more about Catholics and other denominations. Although I don't completely agree on everything, it is still interesting and I desire unity in the church. I will continue to learn more with the help of this channel and other resources. Do you have any videos about your normal routine. You briefly talked about what Bible's you use, but I am interested in the day to day life of your work. Also, I would like to know why I don't see many people of color as workers in the church. Most of the people I see in leadership are white males. The reference to speed is obvious, but the reference to safety refers to the fact that Satan is the greatest judoka, and even if you pull away from his lies, he will suddenly use your own momentum to push you another way and trip you up. I could be completely mistaken and hope someone will correct me should that be the case, but I believe the one shown is the Catholic Notetaking Bible that was published by Our Sunday Visitor in 2019. It is ideal for journaling and Lectio Divina, and does contain the deuterocanonical books. I love mine!
it sounds very interesting... i will wait for the third or fourth volume to come out before purchasing any... just like the Ignatius Study Bible, it will be in several volumes, but unlike the Ignatius, it is far more expensive than I can afford right now... but boy howdy, it looks good!
*_I really wish it was the rsv-ce 2nd edition. I have the Ignatius Bible & only months after buying it the Didache Bible came out, same translation but with over 100 pages of apologetics. So beautiful, not a big chunky Bible & the translation is perfect for apologetics. If a Bible says, "Hail, you who have been favored by God", then i'm out because from this you cannot prove the Marian Doctrines. The RSV-ce {2nd Edition} says, "Hail, full of Grace..." & has a box on the page explaining the Greek. And from here we can lead people through each Marian Doctrine. I will buy the word on fire Gospels though for my mom. I do love a solid book but the Ignatius study Bible app is just amazing. Full Bible with study notes plus hundreds of hours of talks from Scott Hahn on every Sacrament plus study's on scripture in audio, talks on Mary in scripture etc. "Verbum" is the Catholic version of the "logos Bible software". Everything ever written by the saints & the Church can be found on here & linked so easily. I used the free version for a full year so that by the time i spent money on it i knew how to find my way around it. It's the ultimate tool for teaching with every Bible translation & commentary. I use the RSV-Ce linked with Haydock's Catholic Bible Commentary so they are side by side on my monitor so when i'm on James _**_1:26_**_ in my Bible on the left, the commentary on the right is also on James _**_1:26_**_. I love where we are & if we fear learning to use new software we'l be left behind. But, alas - Ye cannot replace a physical Bible. I cant hold my digital version & be in awe. Cant wait for the word on fire Bible._*

I just go back to look at the word on fire bible everyday... The Bible is so beautiful, but I cannot afford it, atleast not for another couple of years... I hope bishop Barron will keep on producing it for a while... 😢😣😭

I am new to this channel, but I have learned so much about the Catholic Church through your channel over the last several days. I grew up in Protestants churches of different kinds and wanted to learn more about Catholics and other denominations. Although I don't completely agree on everything, it is still interesting and I desire unity in the church. I will continue to learn more with the help of this channel and other resources. Do you have any videos about your normal routine. You briefly talked about what Bible's you use, but I am interested in the day to day life of your work. Also, I would like to know why I don't see many people of color as workers in the church. Most of the people I see in leadership are white males. I am sure there are exceptions, but it doesn't seem common. Thank you for all the videos and God bless you.

The reference to speed is obvious, but the reference to safety refers to the fact that Satan is the greatest judoka, and even if you pull away from his lies, he will suddenly use your own momentum to push you another way and trip you up. I mean things like deep mysterious conspiracy theories and the like (e.g. sedevacantism). I am Catholic by the way. Good luck my friend.
I am a lector in our parish so my bible is NABRE version, used in the liturgical celebrations. 😊

I could be completely mistaken and hope someone will correct me should that be the case, but I believe the one shown is the Catholic Notetaking Bible that was published by Our Sunday Visitor in 2019. It is ideal for journaling and Lectio Divina, and does contain the deuterocanonical books. I love mine!
What do you think about the Jerusalem Bible... Compared to the King James Version Bible?
it sounds very interesting... i will wait for the third or fourth volume to come out before purchasing any... just like the Ignatius Study Bible, it will be in several volumes, but unlike the Ignatius, it is far more expensive than I can afford right now... but boy howdy, it looks good!

*_I really wish it was the rsv-ce 2nd edition. I have the Ignatius Bible & only months after buying it the Didache Bible came out, same translation but with over 100 pages of apologetics. So beautiful, not a big chunky Bible & the translation is perfect for apologetics. If a Bible says, "Hail, you who have been favored by God", then i'm out because from this you cannot prove the Marian Doctrines. The RSV-ce {2nd Edition} says, "Hail, full of Grace..." & has a box on the page explaining the Greek. And from here we can lead people through each Marian Doctrine. I will buy the word on fire Gospels though for my mom. I do love a solid book but the Ignatius study Bible app is just amazing. Full Bible with study notes plus hundreds of hours of talks from Scott Hahn on every Sacrament plus study's on scripture in audio, talks on Mary in scripture etc. "Verbum" is the Catholic version of the "logos Bible software". Everything ever written by the saints & the Church can be found on here & linked so easily. I used the free version for a full year so that by the time i spent money on it i knew how to find my way around it. It's the ultimate tool for teaching with every Bible translation & commentary. I use the RSV-Ce linked with
Haydock's Catholic Bible Commentary so they are side by side on my monitor so when i'm on James _**_1:26_**_ in my Bible on the left, the commentary on the right is also on James _**_1:26_**_. I love where we are & if we fear learning to use new software we'l be left behind. But, alas - Ye cannot replace a physical Bible. I cant hold my digital version & be in awe. Cant wait for the word on fire Bible._*

Yeah same, sounds great. I have a Bible that I've annotated but it's a case of "I have a brilliant note but this margin is too small to contain it". A Bible designed for it would be better
