I have the same kayak. I received it in June. I definitely like it. As you mentioned, the stability and tracking issues are really associated with the size, not necessarily the design. I just use mine to cruise lakes in the Sierrras east of Sacramento. One thing I did notice was that yours came with storage bags. I need to contact RY to get a pair. Right now, I am using oversized garbage bags, but they are not quite tall enough for the kayak to fit in all the way, especially the rear piece, The rudder sticks out, and I'd rather not take the rudder on and off for storage. Thanks for sharing this video.
@@alicegarcia9873 On a Fin Drive, there is only forward, this company has a propeller drive, and with that you can go forward and reverse. I have not used it again yet, but wife has, she loves it.
That's a nice kayak 🛶 man . I like how in break down into 2 places . I like to have that as my back up kayak 🛶 for someone to ride on . I also like your your flip-flops 🩴man . I have the same one too . They are so comfortable to wear around everyday all day long . I wear my flip flops 🩴365 day a year because I have big & very very Extremely wide feet 🦶 sz15 6E wide ( which is very very extremely wide feet 🦶 ) with very very chubby fat wide toes that are Evenly straight across making my foot very very Extremely wide at 6 1/2 inches wide from my big toe to my lil toe . My foot outgrow shoes , socks , & boots when I was young & Flip flops 🩴 is the only footwear that will barely and I mean barely fit on my feet 🦶 because my toes are wider than the flip flops straps . The only problem is that I wish they was a lil bit wider because both of my lil toes hang off the footbed of my flip flops 🩴 but that's because of my toes being Evenly straight across instead of being at a 45° Degrees angle like everybody else toes are but very very extremely comfortable flip flops 🩴& i love that they come in big size for guys like me with very big feet 🦶 . Just curious what sizes are your flip-flops 🩴? Good video buddy thanks you for sharing this video.
@@mason1803 I hadn't tried yet, I will be back down in Texas in a couple weeks and will get it out fishing, and will try it then. I will update you then.
@@midwesttexan833 please let me know to cause I want to buy the reelyak tandem pedal drive (single seater or 2 seater)...... but I have yet to really see any reviews on the reelyak latching system/ stability
I don't want to dissuade anyone from purchasing but I bought one of these and I felt unstable sitting in it let alone standing. I returned it because of that reason and the design flaw of the steering mechanism hitting the seat when trying to turn right. The steering was also a bit loose no matter how hard i tightened down the steering mechanism. Had to hold the steering knob to keep straight.
@@ramonguirao6072just curious are you below 160 pounds or above? I’m 150 and I most likely will never stand up unless I’m taking a stretch aha if you had an inflatable stabilizer would it have been ok? Also how was the joints connection? We’re they secured or pretty wobbly?
I get the stability issue, I'm going to put it to the test when I'm back down in Rockport, I did not have an issue with the placement of the rudder control.

I am 4'11 , do you think I can reach the pedal ? is the seat adjustable ?
@@alicegarcia9873 The pedals are adjustable, as well as a front and back position on the seat.
Hi how stable is it? Are you able to stand up and not tip?
