Remember that she made a video on "defaang'd" suggesting faang stocks had been disrupted when they had actually bottomed out. Now, those stocks have rebounded magnificently but her investors did not benefit a little bit from the AI advancement. Ironically, she took that as a win as it becomes clear that AI which is one of the innovation themes in her fund will disrupt many industries.

    notes for my future reference:
The transitions in computing architecture over time are discussed, with a focus on the ongoing shift towards AI. The roles of hardware and software providers during these shifts are compared, noting that while hardware providers typically benefit initially, software and services companies generate more long-term revenue at higher margins.
The potential of AI to increase productivity is emphasized, particularly among knowledge workers. It is suggested that by 2030, AI could generate over $100 trillion in value via productivity gains, with software companies capturing between 10-25% of this value. The contact center industry is highlighted as an example where AI can improve productivity, reduce costs, and enhance customer experiences.
Companies like Tesla, Meta Platforms, and Google have designed their own AI chips, while Nvidia's hardware has received a high revenue multiple. Significant productivity gains are anticipated from AI, and stronger demand for AI is expected as companies seek to reduce costs.
The video also delves into various economic indicators and market trends, including potential decreases in inflation, changes in monetary and fiscal policies, and the rapid decrease in AI training costs, among others. Contradictory economic indicators suggest a potential turning point in the economy.
Moreover, the video explores the financial identity, MV = PQ, which describes the relationship between money supply, the rate of money turnover, and nominal GDP. It is suggested that a possible decrease in the velocity of money, due to the Regional Bank crisis, could lead to disappointing GDP growth.
It is noted that cryptocurrencies, such as Bitcoin and Ether, have become "flight to safety" vehicles, comparable to gold. It is suggested that as AI grows more crucial, innovation may also be viewed as a flight to safety, potentially accelerating technological change.

I don't know why people are confused about these employment numbers. It seems obvious: corporations are cutting hours (to avoid paying benefits and overtime, etc), so number of available jobs doubles. Household employment is down because people aren't able to find childcare outside the 9-5, so 1 person is required to work 2-3 jobs to subsidize this loss of benefits and overtime pay.
The 'strong' employment numbers are a false flag. There will be a hard landing.

Cathie is a great example of why you don't ever choose an actively managed fund and should go passive - psychological biases we all have means they take profits too early (Nvidia) and hold on to their losers for too long (Teladoc, Coinbase, Zoom etc.)

If C is correct regarding a “ harder” landing that would be a time to rebuild the ARK funds. I own all but the space fund. My favs are the genomic and flag funds. I then like the automation and fintech funds next. I have also used her research to invest in some individual companies found in her funds.

The 1/4 lost on NVIDIA that grew 3 fold in the 6 months afterwards. The “ARK interrupted” NASDAQ100 crushed the fund +272% vs +127% since the Nov 5, 2014 inception.

Interesting viewpoint and snippets of info. However, two important factors at play. Human behaviour trend has changed... If interest rates pause/drop buy the dip mania will continue. We can see the recent record hence s&p didn't hit the lows folks were expecting and valuations still high. Also, Fed and ECB will react very quickly to a financial crisis and easing will be back to compensate... So M will bump up as needed. Of course, the long term implications are obvious. Stagflation will persist.

I’m curious…what do you believe in, exactly? Despite a massive rally in tech and “innovation” YTD, her ARKK fund is just barely above the March 2020 low. That is inexcusably poor performance.
The *only* time her funds actually did well was during the everything bubble, in which everything she owned was propped up by stimulus.
She talks about a “5-10 year time horizon”, only as an excuse to the performance. If she was just buying and holding, I’d cut her some slack, but she is randomly buying and selling, sometimes exiting positions completely, like a temperamental teen. How can an investment pan out after 5-10 years if she exists several months later at its ATL? Is impulsivity part of her 5-10 year plan? Not to mention, why is the ARKK fund currently down ~5% over the past 5 years. Virtually everything has outperformed her funds and the “be patient” mantra is evidently disingenuous considering how frequently she’s moving in/out of companies.
So, what specifically about her actions gives you confidence in her as a fund manager? If it’s something as vague as “her vision”, you may want to ask yourself if you’re a victim of the sunk cost fallacy.
Cathie is a smart individual, and I listen to these videos because I enjoy her perspective. That said, Ark are awful investors. Generally, their timing really couldn’t be worse, which is why they are the only ones getting rich here.

I appreciate for sharing nice insight. The ARK's videos in every months help me who are still a shareholder in your ETFs. Let u enjoy Happy weekend, Cahie Wood and ARK team. I think, in theses days, that very bad for last 2 years over is almost done. I predict that good reward will come to me and ark's shareholders within 1~1.5years. Bye~ Thanks Again~
