Just want to apologise for mic interference in the video. I actually shot this video 3 times because of the mic issues. This was the best out of the 3 😔

I bought the GT2e yesterday and I can say it's money well spent. After installing the app, the watch paired with my Sony Xperia 10 Plus with no problems at all and remained connected after several hours of use. The battery life is also impressive. It really is a big step up from the cheap and trashy watches I've used before.

@@HernySyr it can be use even in an open water under 50meters and other heavy sports or activity so it durable enough for your everyday activity.
I use the mic & speaker to answer calls everyday, when im @ work i dont carry my phone everywhere, also when im gardening or doing anything in my yard
I like the speaker in my GT 2 during my workouts. It tells me the time, hr, and calories I've burned. The microphone i really rarely used as well. In my opinion, i like the watch Gt 2's design. Its more elegant.
How accurate is it with hr and counting calories?

I see no use of speaker, mics or cameras on watches when phones atleast do the job. Watches can do something that phones can't which is stay on the forearm through the day measuring health information. If companies stick with that as their main priority to create better instruments to get your precise body info then that would be a better use of tech than a speaker doing the doplier effect everytime you run swinging your arms distorting the music.
For most users, the most important thing is the colored watch faces, which is sad, because the export of activity is more important in my opinion.
Yep no speaker no mic. Ill definitely stick with my gt2 . Not swopping. I just find it easy when im busy or driving if i havnt paired my phone to just answer calls on my wrist for convenience. Even if its just to say ill call you back. I like this function
I like the speaker and mic for answering calls when I'm not close to my phone. It's also time they added TXT replies, even if it was some fixed messages, so you don't need a keyboard on the watch.
Can you make calls on the GT2 or just answer them please?
You can call contacts you have preselected on your phone and numbers in the call log. Be careful though. I have recently found out since my GT2 failed that Huawei will not service a watch purchased in another country and will no service a watch when it is out of warranty.
Hi, from Portugal. I have a problem with my gt2e. It vibrate when the phone alarm rings in the morning. By Bluetooth of course. How can I change that without disconecting the Bluetooth during the night? Thanks
Hi. Try setting the Do Not Disturb time period so that it's on during the time of this alarm

I love the GT2. I have everything turned on all the time and the battery still lasts forever. I do use the watch to answer calls alot and really like that feature, especially if I'm in the house, which is obviously all the time with Covidness, I don't need to hunt for my phone or carry it as the Bluetooth range is really good. Great review x

Excellent review. I've got the GT2, bought on the strength of your review and I've had it for a couple of months and love it. I don't tend to use the built in speaker but I must admit I prefer the look of mine.
I just ordered a GT2 from amazon for 995sek (100euro/116usd). I'm currently using a Samsung gear s3 fronter that i had for 3.5 years now. Built like a tank but its slow and want better batterylife.
My colleague bought a GT2e a while ago and is happy with it. I thought he hade a GT2 but just now find out it was the gt2e. I use the mic and speaker like at least 5 times a week. Mainly when im driving as its forbidden to use the phone while driving but also at home if i get a call when im not close to the phone like painting on the house or fixing the car. hope i dont going to miss the rotating bezel too much.
I like answering calls on my GT2 especially if i my phone is on a charger , the voice is clear and its convenient.

Great review. I didn't even know there was a newer version to the GT2... I still prefer the GT2 over the 2e I think. I have the bigger face (46mm if I remember correctly) and it's a great all round watch. The endless amount of faces suit all occasions... I've not figured out how to get music to the watch but that's not really a concern as I don't think I'd use that anyway. There is one tiny thing that isn't true with the GT2 and that's the sleep count.... I really have issues sleeping so I look into this a lot. I can be ready a book on my phone from 22:00-23:00 and in the morning the app has be down for sleeping or napping.... Apart from that... Its a great watch
Yes it seems that as long as you're laying down, not moving much and have a low heart rate, it cannot tell if you're reading, browsing socmed or just napping 😅😅

I have the original GT so won't miss speaker and mic. Just ordered one this morning here in New Zealand for $179. That's a lot of kit for the money I think.

The official ones have a more seem-less fit but you could use a regular strap

Good review, thanks. is there a difference between the screens? GT2 says that it has 3d screen on the huawei website but GT2e does not. By the way microphone could be useful for a quick call answer.
I really like the design. But I still would prefer the gt2. Mostly my incoming and outgoing calls are made through the watch already and I've gone used to its convenience

Great review but I'd disagree with the speaker and microphone, I mostly answer calls on the watch and while running I don't use earbuds with my GT2.

Yes, that is the main difference. It's a mic & speaker trade for more sporty look.

I currently have a fit bit versa in Rose but have the huawei P30 Pro and they don't work well together which would you recommend?
I actually really like the styling if the GT2e, but if you need the mic & speaker the GT2 is perfect
the spraker is one of the most improvment from GT 1.... for sports activity timing and distnces is critical
if you just need to hear music orr for calls so yes its not so important ....but for sport usage its critical
There is a very critical point that you guys never ever review or test: the ACCURACY of the heart rate readings of the smartwatches during all kinds of sports.
As a person who've been in hospital for a couple of days last week with the chance of heart problems (fortunately negative tests) I am really thinking of buying a watch with an accurate heart rate monitor and ECG and of course I won't give 500€ for an Apple Watch 5, this one could be a good solution, but I really want to wait for a longer test of it.
Daniel Grof I own a Huawei GT2 (bought 1 month ago) and a Fitbit Ionic (18 months of intense use). The GT2 is great for running, and has a very beautiful visual and a robust construction, but the heart rate accuracy for indoor/gym training is TERRIBLE. I expect a firmware update as Huawei is announcing, to correct that. And the GT2 has ZERO connectivity with Strava, Endomondo or any other app... all your health and fitness data stays only inside Huawei’s servers. The Fitbit accuracy is superb and flawless (pure pulse technology developed by Fitbit) for any kind of workout, but the visual is not THAT beautiful. And additionally Fitbit has the SpO2 sensor for blood oxygen. So if you look for accuracy and a more versatile device in terms of apps and connectivity, go for Fitbit, which brings a huge health knowledge background as well.

Hi. I think I have watched a couple of the reviews so far on the new gt2e. No one has mentioned if it shows you details when you are running. Does it track where you are at that moment. Maybe a short video on more details on what it shows when exercising would be great

How about the battery life?
Its phenomenal. Honestly the last time I charged it is a distant memory. 14 days is not an over statement
does gt2 or gt2e has the workout animations?
Been using GT2 for a couple of months ... Being able to answer a call from the watch has been very useful... yet didn’t use the adding/listening to music option ... it can’t be done from an iPhone anyways.

Just a vibration motor. It's really hard not to notice it when wearing it.

I tried to hook it up to strava. Unfortunately I couldn't find a way to do it. Hopefully Huawei reach out to them soon.
@@WhatGear it is a known issue and was already a couple of times reported by various users to Huawei. It is really a pity as this is a really nice watch but this was the key point to decide to buy the fenix 6 again.

Yes you can. There is a little quick release catch on the back. It's a little trick to do but yes you can
