Tommy, like Vin, had unlimited passion and dedication to his team. That is not true of many people.

If more young people would listen and pay attention to their elders. This country would be in a lot better place today.

I always think of Reggie Smith being a Red Sox, or Sock as it were.

For the longest time as a kid, I thought he was Mike Piazza's dad. Man who lived and breathed baseball. He'd be so proud of the 2024 boys.

Lasorda nailed it. World Series bound. Tommy is right when he made the point there is nothing wrong with baseball. The problem is with people. They don't have as much patience as they used to. We've lost a lot by this because people can't stop and smell the roses, can't take time to think.

Juiced baseballs. Small ball is much more exciting. Homeruns are boring, watching a guy do a slow trot around the bases is like watching paint dry. I'll take a close play at the plate over a homerun any day of the week.

It seems like the changes to speed up the game are working pretty well so far...but I never really was all that concerned about it personally. I do think a computerized strike zone will be coming to the MLB soon.

Gotta love Tommy. RIP to the Hall of Famer. Sure, he was full of sh*t sometimes in interviews and such, but those that know baseball know he was one of the greats -- a master motivator, a great evaluator of talent, and one of the best strategists and in-game managers that ever lived. He got the most out of his players however he could.

At least with roiders we know for a fact they are cheating to win.
I also like what Lasorda said about drug users, 'it's not a disease, it's a weakness.'
