@AndybellaNZ mate just means u got a reason to camp out for a few days lol 😆 the other wharfs can be just as good meclods wharf and urquets by the gun emplacement
Just a beads up, always bleed your kahawai asap, the blood goes sour fast. I am doing a marsden hit this w-end.... ty for the visuals, i can work from there
good on you for doing the video, maybe try changing your rig to a fixed hook at the end followed by a floating hook then a lumo bead then a running sinker, finished off with a swivel, the total length of trace could be 1 metre long. the lighter the sinker the better, but you do want to get your rig to stay on the ocean floor . good luck and have fun.
Kia ora kōrua. Keep trying. Try different lures and baits to see which ones work the best for the conditions, tide and time of day. We use Grim Reaper lures up here in the Bay of Plenty and they work really well. Check them out. Good luck to you and Bella.
Nice video. Next time you use our flipper jig, tie to the solid ring at the end of the hook section, not the jig itself. You actually had it rigged upside down. There’s no rules in fishing but the tying point on lures does have a degree of importance. Have fished there myself on multiple occasions. You were at a good Trev spot. Outgoing tide, lite line, 3/0 hook with small chunk of Bonito or tuatuas tied on with bait cotton works well. Happy trails…
@@jeremytroup4083 oh yeah that makes sense. Thanks for the tip. Ill try to make an another revenge on that spot and hope to land that big guy!! Thanks for stopping by to our channel😀
Bleed your fish next time after you catch it.....makes for better white meat and not bitter.....thats why your wife not like it.....and best with shushimi to leave fish in fridge for a day makes it way better🤙
Each to their own, but nothing better than pan- fried kahawai fillets, in butter and lemon.
