A drummer can have so much going on when playing. Using all four limbs. Volume control, speed control, not over playing, time keeper, soloing, technique and physical stamina. Multiple percussion surface's.....(cow bell, multiple tom sizes, chimes, rim shots, wood block, bell of cymbals, etc.") Not to mention TUNING of a kit. Buddy had it all. He scientifically mastered the drum kit. No matter what size or brand. He could make them sing. He became one with his instrument. Hypnotizing his audience. Whether it was the slightest tap of a snare drum, to a lighting speed attack of his entire kit. Mr. Buddy Rich made every strike count, and mean something. So even in the year 2022......It is STILL AMAZING and MIND BLOWING to watch such a genius as the GRRRRRREAT BUDDY RICH. 🤘🏻💪🏻❤️🥁🥁🥁🥁🥁🥁🥁🥁🥁❤️💪🏻🤘🏻

Buddy was “Rich” in genius, he was decades upon decades ahead of his time. What people / critics have to realize is : The fact that the generations of today and ppl in general witness these videos on social media has often skewed comparisons with the contemporary drummers of today, and with due respect not to diminish the talent & physical abilities of some fantastically gifted Drummers of these days! but you have to look at the undeniable fact that Buddy came from an almost isolated bubble and he developed and displayed awe inspiring almost humanly impossible executions of musicality, combined with the highest possible form of incredible technique whilst using traditional grip exceeding above average speeds with the outmost precision and power. Point being , Buddy did not have any platforms to feed off of, eg: VHS drum instructional tapes, DVD, and the most instant platform for visual imitation and emulation being the INTERNET. What transpired with Buddy was self mastery based soley through his own development! not by outside influence/inspiration via feeding off / borrowing or embelishment from other Drummers from a TH-cam video. Why? Because this did not exist in his time. And that alone is a testament to why he respectfully and deservingly is The Greatest of all time. Sure some can likely play up to him based on imitation but no one can surpass the sheer raw prowess and power he possesed on the Drumset as Naturally as he did. As Phil Collins stated ‘ Buddy is a one off” There Will never be another Buddy. And man, He could swing!
