One of my favourite rock bands of the 80s together with Saxon and Asia. Somewhat the predecessors of symphonic metal.....Thanks Eric....great reaction!!
Tony Clarkin was the guitarist and songwriter. The lead singer, Bob Catley, announced a few weeks ago that he could not continue without Tony in the band, and that Magnum will disband.
Thanks for that great reaction! Magnum have been my favourite band ever since the eighties! It's also funny that you said about you have a signed copy of my book. I know it's not my book, but I am an author too! I have two Sci-Fi books and a children's book written. I am on the third in the series of the Sci-Fi ones. I have seen Magnum twice. Both were epic! You should try a newer one of theirs, like "Spin Like a Wheel" It's a longer song but no mistaking it for anything else but a Magnum one. It's one of my favourites. It of their Visitation album.
Do revisit the album "Storyteller's Night". Artwork by Rodney Matthews, music by legends! Their Knebworth '85 set was something else (and Deep Purple weren't bad either...).
I saw them live in 1992, so it must have been the same tour as this video. I remember I was expecting Tony to have a lot more hair! They were headlining when I saw them, probably because it was the UK, and I recall thinking the light show was really good (though not as good as Rush). RIP Tony.
Thanks for taking the time to review and insight.
Cheers Al Barrow. ( ex bassist in Magnum)
You are not magnum. Stop speaking like you are. It's embarrassing mate

Thanks for your reaction! This is one of the most underrated bands!
Nightwish and Magnum 🤘 It does not get any better. This one is a masterpiece among many of Tony's songs. So sad Magnum are now finished.
Tony was the guitar player and composer and actually, theres a new album of Magnum this year, Tony passed during the promotion.
