I am so proud of myself that i've smelt this dog turd from miles away and never even thought of buying it. Guys please, stop paying blizzard your money, this franchise is long dead and gone.
Sadly, just from all the streamers buying the expension, that cash grab was successful; as you say about the recycled content and bad writing, they barely invested anything into it, yet made hundreds of millions of profit out of that sad cash grab. Not quite sure how to fix that situation, since you streamers kinda need to get in on the hype as it's your revenue, but at the same time this help these kind of cash grabs, that people should have waited to buy to see if it was any good, and then would have noticed it's crap and passed on buying. I'm glad I personally held out from buying it, but I'm sad that it was still an imensely successful cash grab for Blizzard 😢
Why does it make you sad? It's not like Blizzard would just make a better ARPG instead of the game failed -- they'd just drop the franchise entirely. Just ignore it if it's not your thing. Be happy for the workers it employed who were able to provide for their families by making this shit
The MAIN reason I had no interest in this x-pac aside from PoE2 coming out in a month, was the announcement of the Spiritborn class. The name of the class alone breaks from the class design in every other Diablo game. Call it a Spiritualist, call it a Monk, it's like naming the Barbarian "Rageborn", it just, again, departs from every other class that has ever been in Diablo. These developers just simply don't care. Every decision leads them further from anything innovative or cool.
Witch doctor in D3 was also a departure. Demonhunter a lesser departure from rogue. Seems like splitting hairs, more that people wanted a class like a paladin/crusader.
A shame, I actually liked a lot of d4's main story. I was really hoping for them to lean more into the question if killing lillith was the right thing to do by showing just how bad mephisto is instead of just showing everyone how dumb neyrelle is for 10hours. Gonna wait for this to be on a good sale.
After Natrelle says something like "Thanks for help, see ya" at the end of d4 without any logical reason, I was afraid that the plot would develop stupidly, and it turned out that way. By the way, turning back to the enemy confused me even when Inarius did it with Lilith a typical movie cliche. This is such a lame plot move.
i actually propose that spiritborn is actually more 66% green monk, 33% green paladin. I think the big story pieces would feel better if there were smaler ones trickled through the seasons. Like, learning about what tyriels been doing should have been a season story, same with lorath. Some of the stories in the seasons could have been good, but they were less fleshed out than some of the better side quests already in the game. The vessel of hatred campaign could have gone down better if they had prepared us for it in game before hand...
True, it started as a throwback to D2 in many ways and then just became D3, every single update since launch has been turning feature by feature into D3. Not that the original game was good mind you, whatever their noble intentions were, the execution was dogshit, so it IS a better game now, but if you didn't sign up for a darker version of D3 then you're screwed.
D1 exp had OP monk, D2 exp had very powerfull assassin and druid, D3 exp had strong crusader, then strong necro in a DLC. It's called powercreep (new things tend to be better), and not new.
Yep not only is it way stronger than all other classes, they also gutted every other class very hard, so if you want to play the game everything other than spiritborn will feel like shit
"In a way" yeah in a heavily disingenuous way, one that would only ever be brought up by someone who doesn't actually play the game and has no intention to.
Made it through the whole rant and was surprised that you didn't mention Mercenaries once. Wasn't that supposed to be a big selling point of the expansion? I want to give VoH a try but nobody seems to have anything "good" to say about it. 😔
The class is very fun to play. That is the only positive thing i can say about it. Spiritborn is the only time i have had genuine fun playing d4. It feels like a smoother d3 monk
Yea not gonna lie I forgot all about Mercs. I have 2 of them of the 4 and set to use some passive stuff so they're basically a couple little def/off bonuses and otherwise do fuck all. MAYBE they're relevant if you really tryhard the setup but idk, seemed pretty optional.

Horrible!!!! 0 points for the expansion, another waste of money for me. But well, i hoped something will change for the better and i was again wrong :(
Yeah, thats what I felt aswell. The D4 story was kinda shit to begin with and VOH was no different. It lacks soul, meaning and a general sense of storytelling. The people who had a vision for this franchise are long gone and those left have no idea what theyre doing. Mechanically its actually kind of okay, but in terms of everything else it lacks so far behind its competitors that i regret spending money on it. Blizzard is dead and we were fools for hoping theyd come back.
im glad i skipped the expac and saved my money for PoE2. At this point, i wish i could refund my $100 from D4 launch. I was super hyped and i still remember how let down i was after season 1. What a damn shame. I completely agree on the idea that they will add Paladin/Crusader of some sort with the next expansion just to try and bring players back in and it will probably be the best content but this expansion seems like such a waste then. Its like filler for an anime before the big battle or just an artificial set up for something that "will" be better in future paid content that they COULD have added in this expansion. Its just greedy and gross imo. Also still no Diablo in a Diablo game...or any real Prime Evil really. ICANT
D4 massive open world - all game modes ignore it except helltide but even that is mostly spaming and killing blood maiden - pointless to have an open world, now a template of D3 without the build diversity or user friendlyness (gem of ease/armory) Main issue when you hit the wall of RNG is you are just farming the same boring game modes with an OP toon.
To be fair they aren't keeping it mid the game was absolutely dog shit when it released and they've achieved mid status as of now. I don't expect them to ever get it to be good, and there's a 0% chance it will ever be great. D4MID
Wait you f****** telling me that we don't even fight Mephisto at the end of this DLC? Just fighting his harbinger dog? This is a L for Blizzard and for fans. I was expecting we fight a prime evil with each DLC and expecting mephisto with this DLC, Big D next DLC, then Baal. Bosses are reskins of vanilla game? Big loss lol!
D4 lowers every character that’s in it. D1 and D2 built up every character. Huge difference. If D2 had Lilith in it she would have won. Story wise that would have made the world way more dynamic and conflict driven. The world now feels empty. The game is boring, I can’t bring myself to reinstall it.
I don't understand. How did the team that utterly failed to launch a Diablo game that was missing most of the basic features from the 3 previous instalments, manage to screw up the expansion? Doesn't seem possible... Anyway, POE2 beta is next month, so who cares? 🙂
Sad to see that Blizz has the capability to make a good game but just can't do it. They make a game that is just sellable and just slightly addicting enough to hook whales on MTX and ship it. Also, crazy there's no actual Diablo in the game lol
Feels good to be validated. I opted out of D4 entirely after the shitshow that was D3. I mean, if a developer shows clear signs of not having a clue how to make a good, deep ARPG or a worthy continuation of the Diablo story, and then pretty much the entire development team responsible for it either leaves or gets sack, and the developer hires a brand new team to work on the sequel, how can we expect them to learn from their past mistakes? And so they didn't. One could see that a mile away. They're also forced to build on the atrocious D3 story so now there's a need for a lot of course-correcting rather than building something new. And even then, you're still building on a shit foundation left behind by D3. I will say one thing on the writer's behalf though. I can understand how pigeon-holed they must feel. The franchise is called Diablo. Diablo 2 established an expectation that everyone you fight at the end of a chapter is a Great Evil (Lesser or Prime). If they try something else, give you other types of enemies to fight as end bosses, it feels like what you're doing is inconsequential, because in the past you fought the big bads directly, instead of some lackeys or wannabes. If they do give you the Great Evils to fight and the story always revolves around them, the franchise has nowhere to evolve to storywise. How many other games are there where every game in the series has you fighting against the same boss over and over? They have almost no choice but to keep making Diablo or some version of him the final boss, and to spice things up they have to keep raising the stakes every game. At the same time, by reusing Diablo as an end boss every time, they either have to keep giving him new abilities, which strips him of any real identity, or they have to keep rehashing the classics, in which case they'll be accused of lazy design and having no new ideas. They're fucked either way. The Diablo franchise should have ended at D2 and they should have started something new.
D4 is playable almost like the game should have been on launch still missing key elements like itemization is still wack no balance and economy is ass the currency is gold.. it’s got no incentive to push to grind other then u want to.. no real raid rewards uhh the difficulty torments add some sense of progression but it still feels half baked af it’s fun for like a week till you figure out there’s no real reason to do anything in the game.. PvP is trash because of toddler itemization the classes are all the same cc blasters no identify.. the spiritborn is so op it makes the entire game irrelevant and other classes irrelevant.. no one has roles the character models are trash the biggest issue there is no wealth to accumulate because the game balance is so wonky with hot fixes and patches nothing is stable enough to determine what’s going to stay good or meta the seasonal content adds nothing unique to bring back to eternal realm so the seasons are just a time waster .. the game is now a 5/10 and playable for slow ppl and clowns it needs 10 more years of development and I’ll be on poe2
Tbh game is not that bad, you still have fun for few days. New class compared to all old classes is soooo cool, flashy like in poe. It feels so good to play spiritborn. Campain is TRASH. God, thats soooo bad writing. And 1/4 of new region is still locked. Big Brown something on map. And it feels like its just half of expansion. Definitly not worth 40$. 20$ is good price cuz new class. New season is bad too. You just follow one big thing for so long and wait untill it spawn monsters... and boom thats all. Game is good, new class is good, expansion is bad, D4BAD sadly.
I was in the middle when D4 came out and everyone in the ARGP space was shitting on it. I thought it was a fun, mindless bit of fucking around, worth the price in playtime, obviously not 'the next best thing' you can spend your entire life in. But at this point? They're having a laugh if they think I'm giving them another 40€ for this garbage, are you kidding?
i came back after season 1, i was super disappointed with the game at release... basically it was a half done game. After 6 season i have played the new league and with all the changes made now i felt like some improvements but what can i say in PoE i can see this much or more changes in 1 league and not in 6. This progression is super slow and to be honest i have main concerns on the basic core of the game. Now with Vessel they added a new class and to force ppl to buy it they made it like one thousand stronger then anything else. Basically you can have infinite damage with immortality on the day 4 of the new league. If you like one shotting end game bosses and trivialize the game easily it is you game, unfortunately for me this concept is a joke. PoE2 gonna eat this game for breakfast, so sad.... see you again in 12th season.
HOT TAKE - I am having a blast! They added a 3 wing raid another style of time trial, revamped the entire difficulty and progression system, redesigned gear progression. Diablo 4's start was bad, but every content update has made me have more and more fun. and we all have to be fair, POE's story made no sense for like 5 years. they also added new abilities and stuff for every class. I get more than the 10 hours out of the game. so the price is still on point for time per dollar paid.
ARPGs aren't made for the story. That's where you play a normal rpg, ARGPs have ACTION in them. Plus, besides the story, there is no personal element in blizzard games. They always decide which class will be op and always decide what build you will be playing on any character, there is very little room for you to decide whereas in other titles you can make your builds and create unexpected combinations. This is worsened by the scaling in the quintillions to give you fake dopamine because the average noob feels good by seeing big numbers and very lazy and uninspired talent/skill system. Their game has a lot of flaws they did not solve in 20 years of waiting time since when d2 was innovative. Money has different value for everyone but remember that you vote with your wallet. Giving 40 dollars to blizzard is not the same as giving 40 dollars to an indie developer. You get way more content and building out of LITERALLY any other big indie ARPG on the market, besides the graphics. Graphics is literally the main selling point of d4. You may have fun rolling shit with a stick on the street, but that would hurt no one. Instead, buying a blizzard product worsens the state of gaming bit by bit. Every single one of you who treats it as a mindless overpriced entertainment keeps making them believe they can get away with this crap. I think your standards are way too low and that you're of no help to a quality gaming industry. There are a lot of people worse than you, fair, but that's not really an excuse
Path of Exile's story is perfectly coherent, what the hell are you talking about? Everything about the Atlas, the Maven, the Elders layers - all completely solid and worst, and well written (Sirrus) at times as well.
Also was dissapponted by the amount of new content in the expansion. New class is totally broken... Attack of clones everywhere i go 😅 See no reason in multiplayer past this...
Play another class. I quit Sorc leveling at level 22. Too hard and slow. Went back to D3. In D3 99 % of the gear can drop everywhere. In D4 I'm forced to do 10 different endgame content, of which I hate 7. How can you say it's like D3? Not at all. I prefer finishing currents D3 season, which I played almost every day and still not thinking of buying VoH.
I remember listening to a review of Mass Effect 2 that had the same problem as you have with our main character getting killed right at the beginning only to get brought back to life again. He said, don't kill off the main character just to hype up an enemy. If you're gonna kill of the main character and bring them back again, make it relevant to the plot. Allow the main character to receive a revelation while they're dead that they wouldn't have been able to receive in any other way. Or allow them to fundamentally change something in the realm of the dead. Or allow them to retrieve an artifact or a gift from god or something.
I mean, Shepard dying had massive impact, since it brought Cerberus to the front (a necesary evil), while The Alliance were mostly twiddling their thumbs, with whole colonies getting wiped... This whole dillema continued in ME3, with question how much Shepard is still himself (ship of Thesius), while basically being half cyborg.
I'm done with Blizzard. Garbage company with garbage games. Its the same shit with WoW. New expansion but WAIT can't do anything until season 1 released which was 2 weeks after the expansion. Biggest scam of a company and no one should support them honestly. D3 is a way better game and they tore that game apart quickly.
Well, it's Microsoft now. Also Bobby's destruction of Blizzard still lingers. Not supporting won't hit those who did the most damage, they just get golden parachutes, and move on to their next victim.
I was also looking forward to the story, even though I didn't follow the story so well in D4 base game. At least I read the dialog and watched the cutscenes in D4 base game. But in this expansion...man it was literally putting me to sleep. I had to take so many breaks because it was boring. Like you said, the slow chanting all the time... Too much wait for the NPC to catch up and then slowly talk about something not interesting... I couldn't take it, but I wanted to see the final fight, so I kept playing but skipped all the dialog until the end. The final fight was a joke... I just face tanked everything and held down M1 pretty much. I didn't understand the end since I skipped a lot of dialog I suppose, but I thought that was supposed to be Mephisto, but I guess not. And since his soulstone was kept somewhere, he's still alive? In d2 we smash diablo and mephisto's stones, but I guess that also didn't mean anything. Besides the main quest, I went over to grab another mercenary, the demon kid thing, and I'm there with Raheir of course since u get him during the mq. Then my PC says "oh you should meet Raheir he's a great guy" and I'm like, he's right here?? I think this game has too much dialog, and too many forced encounters... Like you said, I'm a demon slaying god, why does some bozo stab me with a rusty sword and I die? Why can't I smash through a locked door in a dungeon? I preferred D2's style of NPCs being in town, you can talk to them if you want, but it's not mandatory. And where the hell is Diablo. This game is literally called Diablo 4, but he's not ever seen or mentioned. But tbh, when the 5th expansion comes and he's the boss, I feel like it's still going to be a disappointment. He's gonna have tons of dialog and tell you his plan a la d3. Where's the spookyness? The unknown is scary... not scary when you just get taunted in the face, knowing full well that you've just blasted through millions of demons. /rant
I will not buy the expansion because the base game ONLY just got to the point where I considered it acceptable for the purchase price. That took a lot of time and changes since the release state. But I had no faith that this would be any different.
i think the loot system is bad, but maybe im too d2 brained. havent played since d4 season 4, this expansion did not convince me to put more money into the game.... honestly the most fun I had was playing the closed beta.
Story is awful, season mechanic is awful, and if you don't roll a Spirit Formula F1 Car then any group content you do will be slowly plodding after them. I think there's some good and fun changes in here now, but I'm going to wait for next season I suppose. I don't think it was a good use of 40 bucks, personally.
Dont worry guys in diablo 6 we will finally fight diablo its just that diablo 4 and diablo 5 are fillers for blizzard to have enough time to make the next diablo lgbt femenist strong independent demon with the pronouns dim and dom .

Blizzard is the king of reskins. I've been complaining for years about their laziness with world of warcraft. Every other "new" enemy is a reskin that theyve reused a 1000 times. for every new rig they make they reuse 100 of them and im not even joking.
GGG does a ton of reskinning too but I think generally they do it pretty well by comparison
@@vyntarus9618 GGG's game systems feel good enough to engage with that i don't even care. they could have only had one model for every monster in the last 4 years and just put a different cool little hat on each and that would be fine with me.
@@vyntarus9618 true and in the past I could forgive them because they're game play more than made up for that and because they were a smaller studio then. Blizzard on the other hand has zero excuses. People used to expect that blizzard polish but they've squandered that good will. They cut corners to meet deadlines but they don't realize their down fall has been partially because of all the cut corners.
@@PWYTCCan basically put this mostly on Kotick, he did a real number on Blizzard. Doubtful Microsoft will do better.
D4 VoH in the nutshell : Neyrell, you bastard
i actually propose that spiritborn is actually more 66% green monk, 33% green paladin.
Expected to be disappointed, some how exceeded that expectation in a negative way, incredible.
they came out with nature monk in d4 and water monk in immortal, how uninspired
Hey mathil, guys here
True, it started as a throwback to D2 in many ways and then just became D3, every single update since launch has been turning feature by feature into D3.
Not that the original game was good mind you, whatever their noble intentions were, the execution was dogshit, so it IS a better game now, but if you didn't sign up for a darker version of D3 then you're screwed.
So in a way, it's pay to win since the new class is by far the best and you have to pay for it?
that's the sales pitch!
It's pay to play because all of the actual new content is expansion only
Mathil slowly turning into quin69 :O
@@tvlyt456yes
For everyone who wants some real Diablo Action, try out the reimagined Mod for D2R... I am playing it for a couple of days now and it is really fun...
It just never got better than the beta.
😂😂😂😂 Good description!!
They'll make the game good eventually... right, guys? Surely the next expansion will make the game good.
That expansion campaign was the biggest pile of shit storyline ive ever played in any ARPG
A dog with tentacles is the last boss KEKW nice use of imagination 🤣
I refuse to pay for this expansion, but I’m glad some people are rushing it and finding some enjoyment.
@@Mathilification The only relevant one is the shield guy that gives 15% increased armor and does a succ to group enemies. Maybe Varya cus she has CC. Everything else is useless.
@@Mathilification So.. Diablo 3 mercs..?
Mercs are cool and then you group up with your buddy and lose your merc but keep your secondary backup Merc that assists one of your skill.... 🤣😂 It's so gdamn braindead
mentally comparing the harbinger of hatred to the iron count (final boss of act ONE in poe2) who shares some aesthetic and moveset similarities and it doesnt seem like a fair comparison
We won't be seeing Diablo the Lord of Terror until 2035 🤷♂🤷♂
And it will be after a reboot, which will be just a shop update with a battle pass and 0 new content, just like Overwatch 2.
That's how much it will cost too
The fact, that they've added WoW skins to the game... post-launch... 30$ PER(!!!)... and yet people who were stupid enough to buy it DID NOT fight Mephisto as an end boss tell all you need to know. I mean bruh...
Stash tabs will come in the next two expansions 😂
D4 disappointing should be the new phrase
Somehow I always had hope for diablo 4 and thought after 10-20 seasons it would be something but now I don't believe that anymore.
Since this game I know how to be disappointed all the time without expectations. I don't wish anything bad on anyone personally, but I wish Blizzard through all their actions, scandals and ripping off the people who loved and celebrated them that they go bankrupt and everyone boycotts them.
dont worry, 6-12 month there will be a 60€ expansion with another class! awesome!!!!!!!
Lol, nice campaign. Openworld, nothing happens loop.
And can we talk about what happens on the gamplay material? They wanted to improve the game, right? looks like poe screenclutter now.
D2 Endboss: Diablo, Expansion: Baal
D4: do not even know what the endfight was, Expansion 1/100: A dog
A dog that you cant lose to cus you're super powered by akarat the entire time.
Destiny IV. DLC style $40 for simple story/character level goes up then another $40 for boss fight.
Quests in campaign are horrible. Look for clues on the ground and search the area for someone. Riding horse like an idiot or clicking books on the floor until you click correct one, even when you do, it doesn't tell you did because guy is walking slowly towards it. Horrible!!!! 0 points for the expansion, another waste of money for me. But well, i hoped something will change for the better and i was again wrong :(
So, what you're saying is D4 bad? Got it
I haven’t played d4 in about 6 months. I’ve been half wondering about it, but I just feel like Poe is too much better.
Just wake me up when we get to fight actual Diablo in that game.
with that amount of copy paste in the game its crazy for me how much people still like the game.
blizz somehow gets away with the lack of content
Yet another game to highlight the uselessness of modern gaming journalists, how all the 'main' sites give this 9's / 10's is beyond me.
ICANT
I enjoyed it .. Didnt played it from few months and to be honest, its waaaaaaay better than before . HONK
Feels like Diablo immortal not having pay to win purchasable gear situation all over again :/
would you say you got your money's worth?
Do a weekly video dumping on D4, I'll watch them all
I spent my money on PoE supporter packs instead of wasting it on D4 bad.
They call me D4
I had no skin in in the game and no interest to even touch the game but hearing all this just makes me sad as hell to see them keeping the game mid.
To be fair they aren't keeping it mid the game was absolutely dog shit when it released and they've achieved mid status as of now. I don't expect them to ever get it to be good, and there's a 0% chance it will ever be great. D4MID
Can't agree with this enough tbh.
Im shocked
d4 bad
d4 dogshit
Wasn't super excited about this because of mercs, i really hate mercs, didn't like them in 2 and 3 and i suspect i won't like them in 4
Feels good to be validated.
D2 character, kills multiole primeevils. Mephisto in the flesh. D4. Uhhh mephistos Rabid Dog.
D4 still bad ? So its not even D3 RoS level ?
you are asking a PoE crowd if D4 is bad...guess what you gonna hear?
Based opinions @@PyroIsBack
lol the power of friendship!, carebear new D4 class confirmed =)
You think you will ever give Warframe a go?
HOT TAKE - I am having a blast! They added a 3 wing raid another style of time trial, revamped the entire difficulty and progression system, redesigned gear progression. Diablo 4's start was bad, but every content update has made me have more and more fun. and we all have to be fair, POE's story made no sense for like 5 years. they also added new abilities and stuff for every class. I get more than the 10 hours out of the game. so the price is still on point for time per dollar paid.
i also have 20k hours in both D2 and POE as a reference.
D4 still feels pointless tho… idk why it jsut feels like nothing matters
Path of Exile's story is perfectly coherent, what the hell are you talking about? Everything about the Atlas, the Maven, the Elders layers - all completely solid and worst, and well written (Sirrus) at times as well.
Also was dissapponted by the amount of new content in the expansion. New class is totally broken... Attack of clones everywhere i go 😅
See no reason in multiplayer past this...
I didn't buy the expansion and the only reason I was even considering it was for the campaign; glad I skipped it.
im buying it not for 40 bucks man... theres like zero content and all the same bosses still.... after 2 years still duriel comon
DogFisto HUH
Play another class. I quit Sorc leveling at level 22. Too hard and slow. Went back to D3. In D3 99 % of the gear can drop everywhere. In D4 I'm forced to do 10 different endgame content, of which I hate 7. How can you say it's like D3? Not at all. I prefer finishing currents D3 season, which I played almost every day and still not thinking of buying VoH.
It's like Blizzard wants Path of Exile 2 to obliterate them.
Maybe we get to kill Diablo in 5 years or so ...
Aka the Jon Snow Problem. He‘s a zombie but also who cares, he’s just normal protagonist guy. Dying should be impactful, one would think.
There is no reason to keep it MMO... There is zero balance between classes...
I still can't believe they have't reworked the map. Like a tunnel stem, not an "open" or even semi open world.
Diablo 2 still has more builds than Diablo 4.. wtf..
/rant
they r milking it youl have to pay to fight the prime evil in the future.
D4 BAAD
I will not buy the expansion because the base game ONLY just got to the point where I considered it acceptable for the purchase price. That took a lot of time and changes since the release state. But I had no faith that this would be any different.
i think the loot system is bad, but maybe im too d2 brained. havent played since d4 season 4, this expansion did not convince me to put more money into the game.... honestly the most fun I had was playing the closed beta.

I sent in 3 support tickets to get this bullshit refunded. They are refusing refunds right now i guess....
Haha how many hours do you play though?
Story is awful, season mechanic is awful, and if you don't roll a Spirit Formula F1 Car then any group content you do will be slowly plodding after them. I think there's some good and fun changes in here now, but I'm going to wait for next season I suppose. I don't think it was a good use of 40 bucks, personally.
Crippled in pain from lilths blood randomly interrupting the gameplay for zero reason at all. TDLR the storyline is mephisto is a bad dog owner.
Dont worry guys in diablo 6 we will finally fight diablo its just that diablo 4 and diablo 5 are fillers for blizzard to have enough time to make the next diablo lgbt femenist strong independent demon with the pronouns dim and dom .
