    I bought a 2003 Volvo S60 in May of 2003. The absolute BEST car I have ever owned. I put over 346,000 miles on it thus far and the engine still purrs, the transmission shifts without 'help', the AC still works perfectly and the Catalytic convertor still passes emissions standards. The only unexpected repair was a wiper motor and fan blower motor. The rest is maintenance; tires, brakes, ball joints, struts, engine mounts, timing belt, etc. -- all wear items. I do all my own work including mount and balance tires.
    I recently bought a 2006 S60 AWD- I'll be the 3rd owner of this vehicle. This 2006 seems to be really nice and well cared for- ride beautifully. I'll use the 'newer' 2006 on occasion as I know I'll need a 'backup' car while I start doing more preventative maintenance on the 2003. BTW- ZERO body rot / rust on both these vehicles. Drive safe everybody.

      I love this car i have the s60 2003 t5 at 230km but in the last 4 months iv had to replace the fuel pump valve, the crank sensor wire under the car, the pnp switch, the radiator, the alternator and now the throttle body is giving me issues...what is going on? how is everyone else here having a good time?

    I have 2002 s60 T5 had it 17 years and wont part with it, I fix everything myself and parts in the uk here are cheap enough. Most things that break on this car are easily repaired by yourself easy to work on TH-cam has some great vids to help with most things .If your looking into buying one just like with any other car check it over make sure its been cared for mines 20 years old this year and still looks brand new

    Had my S60 T5 2003 model for 5 years and is the most reliable car have ever owned. Very fast and comfortable. Will not replace it with any bland Japanese car

  • @redbeef92
    @redbeef92 2 ปีที่แล้ว +17

    The most reliable car I've ever had engine-wise. Mine has zero rust.
    Parts are very expensive though.
    Things I had to repair in 7 years: Turbo blown (found cheap one from the car grave), replaced rubber turbo hose 2x,Instrument Cluster needed soldering repairs, Alarm is not working, had to replace pulleys.
    But I guess, it's normal for a 2003 car that I've driven for 7 years and 360.000 km.

    • @lynskyrd
      @lynskyrd ปีที่แล้ว +3

      346,000+ MILES on my 2003 S60. Engine runs smooth, transmission shifts when it's supposed too. slight rust near rear window - AC still works and NEVER any downtime with this car other than normal wear & tear. I do my own maint; timing belt, tuneups, brakes, etc. Did have an issue with wiper motor and heater fan motor. Simple and inexpensive fixes (thank you ebay). Good luck everybody- drive safe. Oh- I DID have an issue with instrument cluster @120K; that sucked and Volvo was zero help even though it was indeed, manufacturer defect with 2001-2003 S60s. That cost me $300 and I wasn't happy. STILL- the best and most reliable car I've ever owned.

    2004 S60. I. broke remote key shell when starting vehicle. Lost the transponder in the process. Fixed by Volvo dealer with free towing. Great car that still runs well with minor issues.

  • @vladavasiljev

    Ultimately the best car I've ever had. The most comfortable, reliable, the best build quality ever, superb audio, equipment and still has a unique style. New cars are funny with a bunch of cheap tablets everywhere, poor engines and bad seats.

      It all goes out eventually, I have an 03 s80 I bought in November it’s almost at 200,000 and I had to buy a new catalytic converter right off the bat and my heater core just went out last week. Not cheap but once fixed they’re ready to go for another 100,000 or so miles.
