      Professional automotive painter here, just got my Z a couple weeks ago. It's definitely paint with a hard tape line. It's also done by hand, as the tapeline on my hatch has a bit of a stop-sign shape to the curves, as well as I had to polish a slight bit of bleed through from the tape line off the white. Definitely paint, and not the greatest paint work on the black bits.

    Any “feature” that actually makes the Z an actual sports car🥴

  • @VBMichael_D
    @VBMichael_D 17 วันที่ผ่านมา

    This is not a Z. Zs were made from 1970-1978, like the 1973 240Z in my carport.
    What makes a Z car is:
    -INLINE 6 cylinder engine (V6s are not sports car engines...Toyota understood this)
    -lightweight (i.e. 2400lbs, not 3500.) 3500lbs is a f#@$# FOUR DOOR full size sedan weight, regardless of the excuses you kids make.
    -affordable. Original Zs did not cost the equivalent of $50,000+ back in the 1970s
    -simplistic/minimalistic. The only electronics that should be on a sports car, are the ones that run the fuel injection and engine sensors.
    Call it a 400, but it's not a Z. Nope. Nissan ruined this just as badly as the ruined the GT-R.

    • @ZillaFullBoost
      @ZillaFullBoost  17 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@VBMichael_D You’re comparing a car from the 70’s to one now? Different times man. The car is safer, more comfortable and faster. I’m a 34 year old “kid” and I appreciate every car, but you sound like a boomer who can’t get over the fact that the new Z is in fact a better car.
      I wish this also had an inline six or it be lighter, however If you can’t see all the older gen Z’s in this modern one you’re blind or just ignorant.
      Edit: And it what world did Nissan ruin the GTR? I think they did an exceptional job with the GTR so much so that it’s still one of the kings of the street and track decades later. You have manufacturers still using it as a bench mark for their new cars.
      Every model Z and GTR are great cars. I think Nissan did well with the reseources they had.
      Live and let live.

      @@ZillaFullBoost Different times man. "The car is safer, more comfortable and faster."
      Define 'safer'
      Comfort is relative when you're talking about at two seat flagship sports car. You want comfort, get a Lincoln Town Car, little fella.
      The MKIV Supra has an inline six. Toyota understood the assignment, so did most every other supercar maker.
      The BRZ is about 2800lbs. If Toyota/Subaru can get that weight down, so can Nissan.
      "I’m a 34 year old “kid” and I appreciate every car, but you sound like a boomer who can’t get over the fact that the new Z is in fact a better car."
      No it's not. And you sound like the typical millennial (I'm gen X.....nice judgment of character there btw. LOL) who doesn't understand that tech doesn't belong on sports cars.
      Again if you have more money than driving skill, by all means buy one of these overweight cornlogs that will compensate for your enthusiastic ineptitude.
      "if you can’t see all the older gen Z’s in this modern one you’re blind or just ignorant."
      Nope. There is no Z heritage in this. If you don't understand that, you're just pushing a narrative.
      The only reason the 240 didn't totally blow the 370 out of the water in every category, is because of the brakes. It wouldn't be much different if this were your precious overweight 400.

    I think if you put every generation of Z infront of a person who had never seen them before, and asked them to guess the order they were released, they'd put the new Z between the 350 and 370. Its a step backward in terms of aesthetics. Compared to the 370, the new Z is less aggressive, taller, longer, and has uglier big ol 2000's era style headlights. The technically designation for the new Z at Nissan is the Z34. Sounds familiar doesn't it? Thats because its the same designation given to the 370z. And in the same breath they refer it it as the 7th generation Z. So the suits at Nissan don't even know where it fits in the grand scheme of Z cars. If I wanted to call it a Nissan Z34 v3- well it is. Despite that the z34 v1 and v2 were both 3.7 NA cars and this one is a 3.0L TT. In that sense its more like a 2023 300zx. That would give it a designation something like CZ32 V2. 🤣🤷‍♂️🤦‍♂️

    • @ZeerXX
      @ZeerXX ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The 370z is easily the ugliest Z out there. Unless you mod it or get the Nismo version it looks like a fat 350z. The new Z is not perfect, but the design is overall nicer. I would agree with you that the headlights are awful as is the front bumper. Hopefully the Nismo relieves some of it. The new Z in black looks amazing however, because the color blends the front a lot better.

    • @BOBimusRex
      @BOBimusRex ปีที่แล้ว

      @ZeerXX To quote The Dude, "Yeah, well... Thats just like... your opinion, man."
      In all seriousness, I think the 09 370 is gorgeous. Dont like the nismo. Dont like the facelift with the drls. Had a 350, and thought the exact opposite of you. It seemed too fat and slow compared to the sleek sexy 370. Slap a splitter and a wing on an 09, maybe drop it an inch or two on some tasty rims, and your golden IMO. Mine is getting there...

    • @ZeerXX
      @ZeerXX ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@BOBimusRex Great quote btw lol. But like I said, if its modded or Nismo version it looks good. But without anything they look like an egg with a catfish front end. But anything on coilovers and nice wheels and some modest aero starts to look good. But stock for stock its not my favorite generation unless its in the latest nismo variant since the aero package on it stretches it out a bit more and gives it a bit of a wider stance.
