I will get with Rob but if you want to see how Hartwell is right now, check out the coverage of The National Professional Fishing League this week. They're on Hartwell and Rob, along with several of our podcast guests like Will Harkins, Trent Palmer, Jessie Milsaps, William Fletcher (Top12 finisher on Touring Anglers Tournament) and more are competing in it.

I like Rob. But he is definitly incorrect on this one. I have lived on Hartwell and fished tournaments on this body for 30 years. Maybe 10 years ago you could catch a good bag of heads and win. But that is no more. You would be very lucky to have a couple of heads to weigh in. Spots dominate this lake now and you MAY have a kicker head in the mix to give you that extra weight. This lake is DOMAINTED off shore on the lower end year around. If you dont fish off shore and come in with a 18-21lb bag, your not even come close. Go back and look at the last 2 months of weigh ins for 5 alive, jack hunt, BFL, Tucker Hipps, ABA, etc. All won with spots, again mabye a kicker head, from 19-23lbs.

Thanks so much for your response. I'd love to cover Hartwell more than we do. Perhaps you can help us get in the door up there with you or someone you may know. We just want to try and help everyone catch more fish and have fun doing it so if you can help us out with it, email me at danny@fishnorthga.com

@@FishNorthGeorgia you wanting to do interviews etc? I am friends for most of the hammers here. I can talk to some of those guys and see if they would like to do an interview. Two of the newest NPFL anglers is Collin Smith and Jason Burroughs who is local here. Jason is one of the best Anglers ever to come off Hartwell and Collin is probably in top 10 best Hartwell anglers. But i know a good many more that may be willing to do a pod cast if your interested?

He’s got a lot wrong. None of the tournaments here are being won shallow. I’m one of the ones that do win quite a bit.

Everyone has their perspective and I appreciate yours. Maybe..... we can make a video with you about Hartwell? We are so Lake Lanier heavy and need to definitely branch out. All we care about is helping regular guys catch fish so any help with that would be appreciated. - Danny

I agree most tournaments are not won on Hartwell shallow. The majority of the bass follow the Herring. The bass on Herring lakes don't relate to cover. They follow the Herring around. Think of ditch as highways.
