Pfff I understand Ashley on so many levels. I’m 25 and becoming a mother one day absolutely freaks me out. I never saw motherhood as something I have to experience in my lifetime. I see the beauty of becoming a mother one day but I never felt like it has to happen to me. I’m perfectly fine with the thought that I will never become a mother. I rather enjoy life on my own or with a partner.
My only word of caution is to think of your later years and how you want those to go. I know the regret doesn’t kick in for some people until it’s far too late so make sure you just really examine your heart (don’t stress, just examine) and make smart decisions.
So relatable. I’m 25 and I constantly feel like I’m late to the game. And yes like Ashley mentioned, I also wish my life was more stable because things can get pretty exhausting. Thank you for sharing, your Q&A will help so many people out there. 🌼

I just turned 30 in September, and it was scary for me at first, because I don’t have my life together at all. Also, it really sucked spending the end of my 20s with the pandemic. I definitely feel the social pressures, not from my family, but from seeing my friends get married and having kids, but I am so with you both on just letting life take me where it will. I’m still learning so much about myself.
you and ashley are both my biggest inspiration, showing me that life can get more fun every year. i’m 24 turning 25 in a few months and it freakssss me out when i think about getting older because i feel like society pushes us a certain way and expects us to live a certain type of life. but watching you guys really shows me that it doesn’t have to be that way and it means soooo much more than i can even describe with words. so thank you both so so much 🥺 ilyyyy all the way from the netherlands 💌
For me personally, turning to thirty was like another level of not to taking care of many things and people. And of course thinking about finding someone for the rest of my life. for that question "do you feel your biological clock ticking?" you sort of do feel it more when you reach your mid-30s. Speaking from my own experience, I naturally felt like I needed to have babies when I reached that stage, and then my body just changed all on its own like my hips got bigger and boobs got bigger and stuff like that (to accommodate a baby). I'd say prepare for it mentally and physically by working out more in your late 20s so that you'll be ready for it when you hit 32 - 35.

I got married at 22 and had my first kid at 23. That was my choice, and I have no regrets, but that doesn't mean everyone has to do that. Everyone has their own timing for these sorts of things and should be supported in their decisions, whatever the are.

I dont know if u will see this cos it's a super late comment but i just wanna say u have no idea how much this video means to me😭 When ashley and u said that u have to take risks in ur 20s, it gives me hope that im not doing the wrong thing. Because after graduation, i've been jumping from jobs to jobs bc i dont know what i love to do. People around me called me insensitive and told me to just stick to a stable job. Honestly, it's pressuring. But i realised that if u dont like ur job, there is no point staying and doing something u dont love. Hence, right now, im still jumping from job to job bc im still trying to find my direction in life. Hopefully i can find it soon and i definitely feel more assured after hearing ashley's and your advice 💓💓 thank you💓💓💓
Being too career focused is a lonely ride spent with anxiety and stress only to come home to pitch darkness and silence. Find contentment and balance in your life to reduce pressures of planning for the future. Then you might open yourself to longterm relationship thats meaningful and wholesome.

I think it’s also easier when you have s core group of unmarried friends around you. I’m fine not getting married till late but I worry that most of my squad will be married and I won’t fit in as seamlessly when they have kids and a husband as priority….anyway love you Joan!
I feel that SO much. I'm 24 and most of my closest friends either don't want to get married or are not in a rush, but one of them got married this summer and we've only seen each other once afterwards because she juggles a job and a household (and soon, a kid). I'm super happy for her but it also feels weird knowing she's got Big Adult Family Things to take care of now, whereas I'm here just starting to work on my life post-education.

I think it’s also easier when you have s core group of unmarried friends around you. I’m fine not getting married till late but I worry that most of my squad will be married and I won’t fit in as seamlessly when they have kids and a husband as priority….anyway love you Joan!
I feel that SO much. I'm 24 and most of my closest friends either don't want to get married or are not in a rush, but one of them got married this summer and we've only seen each other once afterwards because she juggles a job and a household (and soon, a kid). I'm super happy for her but it also feels weird knowing she's got Big Adult Family Things to take care of now, whereas I'm here just starting to work on my life post-education.

ok i feel like i need to add it because i do know someone personally that has a great family and juggles that with trips and parties but yeah i feel like its possible with a great amount of support from family n ofc everyone is different so if someone does end up wanting to like 'live their life to the fullest' travel n party etc after starting a family its definitely possible, having a family does require sacrifices but its possible to balance things out :)
