    I drive a 2003 Toyota Camry SE with 57K miles. It is Phatom Grey with black interior. As this is the SE model, it includes fog lamps, sun roof and rear spoiler. Also, the lights on the instrumental panel, dash, clock and radio are orange and the headlights have the black trim. The car is comfortable to drive with a quiet engine

      @Technerd96  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      it is I agree, I changed the wheel bearing on the vehicle as I mentioned about it in the video and my car sounds much quieter now. it bothered me for the longest time and got so worked up about it. I even did it myself because the shop was gonna charge me $500 to get it done but I bought the parts for an 8th of the cost and installed it for free.

    Nice update. In general I prefer the Camry to the Accord. The one thing I DO like more about the Accord is that it feels a bit more luxurious on the interior. The camry isn't bad by any stretch, but it doesn't have some of the nice finishing touches that the Accord had.

    • @Technerd96
      @Technerd96  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Warren F. Yeah the accord does have more of a luxury feel and the models between 2003-2007 are my favorite. But any camry built between 1997-2006 are the good camries, I didn't really like the newer ones that much, they are kinda big.

    I've never replaced the water pump on my car. Note that this car has a timing chain instead of a belt. The only thing I had to change was the driving belt which broke last August - probably should have replaced it sooner.

    • @Technerd96
      @Technerd96  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Davin Peterson yeah mine still has the original timing chain on it and never broke once. I did replace the water pump on it and drive belt since it was leaking a while back

  • @serlaws
    @serlaws 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    The best version of these are the 2004-2006 3.0 V6 which is a BEAST. Yes there is a timing belt that eventually need to be changed but if it ever breaks it will not destroy your engine. It is so much more enjoyable with a V6

    Mine was doing really good till 2019, and the oil started burning. Then the car died in 2020, and this guy (not my mechanic) removed my original altenator and put in a rebuilt from god knows where and ever since (now 2nd one installed) still not enough voltage and battery ruined. Other then these issues, it still runs smooth and over 150,000 miles on it.

    I'm considering this car. I'm on a tight budget so it a toss up btwn this and a 2007/8/9/10 Toyota Corolla. I'm going Japanese no matter what. Anyway I'm inclined to go with 2004/5/6 Camry. Only downside is there isn't an auxiliary port but I'll do a hack I guess... What's your experience so far in terms of the Car's reliability ? And what's your suggestion regarding doing a hack on the Audio System ? Great vid !

    • @Technerd96

      Thanks for the acknowledgment on my video. My recommendation for the radio is to get an aftermarket radio and take out the original one. Most of the aftermarket ones range between $50-$70 for pricing. I would highly suggest something with Bluetooth on it for connectivity. Make sure the part is able to fit on the vehicle too.

    • @icantw8
      @icantw8 7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yeah I prefer old school too. I honestly enjoyed driving the 2000 Civic coupe I bought 7 years ago over the 2016 civic I have now cause older Hondas were simply more engaging and felt better to drive despite the simple interior. New cars nowadays feel so numb and drab.
      My fav gen Camry would be the 1992 - 1996 models cause of the interior quality and incredible reliability. For some reason, I always see these particular Camrys reach more than 300k miles.

    • @Technerd96
      @Technerd96  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The thing about new cars is that they lost the ability to use hydraulics on their steering and stability. Everything runs on electric assist for steering and it makes newer vehicles seem boring

    • @Technerd96
      @Technerd96  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Another thing I noticed in older vehicles is that their air conditionings are much stronger compared to newer vehicles. Mine has the ability to make it feel like I’m in a meat locker. It’s helpful on summer days.

    • @icantw8
      @icantw8 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      It was the opposite for me though lol cause my old civic had terrible AC while the newer cars I had all worked well. It just depends on how well the compressor works.
