And take in consideration that La Más Draga had queens from Chile, Costa Rica, Argentina, Colombia and Venezuela, they are expanding so much and Drag Race México felt like a Mexican series produced by how an us citizen person believed DRMX
Same with Drag Race Germany. It encompasses the other two German-speaking countries. But the POV is so U.S.-American, it's preposterous and puts me off, next to the fact that the judges are horrible and people I've never heard from. There are thousands of better people to choose as main judge. Well, what do I know. It's not my production company.
Talking about how Drag Race wasted time by not coming to Mexico sooner reminded me of one rumor that sounded a lot here in Mexico, where WOW allegedly spent a lot of time trying to buy La Mas Draga or something like that, and keep producing it as Drag Race Mexico, but they never reached an agreement with Bruno and Carlo (LMD producers). This was mainly because Michelle Visage already loves many queens from LMD, and she wanted them to be part of WOW. Michelle Visage loving LMD was pretty much confirmed when Taiga Brava (Queen of the Universe 2 winner, from Mexico) said in an interview that Visage told her in a critique that was not aired"no wonder you are from Mexico, a place with a lot of talented queens like the ones in LMD". TLDR, I think WOW wanted to come sooner by owning LMD, but when they couldnt buy it, they had to start from 0 and thats why it probably took longer to produce.
I think you forgot the only one well crafted storyline, the underdog Matraka, everyone wanted to see her win the season, even though we knew thats not going to happen
I'm happy to see the mention for La Mas Draga 'cause it's a messy show, but it's so fun to watch. I've been watching since Season 3, and it's lovely to see it growing so much, especially since LMD casts internationally now (Since Season 4, it has been casting outside of Mexico with C-Pher, though it full started in 5). Also, I don't watch Drag Race Mexico, but I watch LMD 'cause it's way easier to access, and the hype around it is so fun 'cause you might be able to predict the finalists, but you can NEVER know who will win, until the end (Since they literally just pick the winner based on the finale).
OH ACCESSIBILITY IS A HUGE THING I FORGOT TO MENTION TOO! Thank you for being ONG it up! TH-cam as a platform is so much easier to consume, which gives LMD HUGEEE points against DRMX, which is hiding behind a subscription plan.
This was similar to España season 3. Cristian was probably going to win without favoritism just like Pititia was going to win without favoritism but they just forcefully made them dominate their season. The winners felt correct but the way they won the season didn’t.
Cristian is talented but she was kinda pushed like they gave her 5 wins when she only deserved 2 wins. Pixie Pixie should have won the first challenge, Regina should have won the stand up and Gala should have won the makeover I am not mad at her winning tho as she tore up the finale and did the best in the final lip sync, but yeah
As a Mexican-American who was waiting for a Drag Race in Mexico, I see the season through rose colored glasses. I saw the representation, the queens talent, and the feeling of a drag race that spoke to me.I think the illusion wore off right at Cristian’s 5th win. I saw the poorly cut off storylines. The mistreatment of Margaret and somewhat Regina. I wanted more from the season obviously, but I’m so happy it happened. Also, need to watch more La Mas Draga. I’ve watched maybe one season 🤷🏻♂️. Thanks for the video, and putting into words my thoughts about the season!❤️🤍💚
A really great cast, a potentially iconic season made dirty due favouritism. Matraka still lives in our hearts and it will be for ever ❤ Will you do a video about italia 3 after it finishes?
Drag Race Mexico felt like a distilled presentation of Mexican drag. The talent and art on this season of LMD (LMD6) is next level. They really need to do better next year like you said, make the season entertaining!
Mexico was such a lackluster season tbh , It felt so generic like most of this new mass produced seasons. predictable, no story telling besides cristian suffers so much because he has a family and pretty much thats it
im so happy u made this video bc i was one of the girlies who kept up w every international season for so long, until españa 3 broke me. then i heard about mexico how messy the judgment was so i never got around it, even tho ik the cast is great
HOW production still not catch that favoritism like this is horrible for the viewers, like you said Cristian most likely would have won anyways without so much push since if we fairly judged the challenges she would probably would have been High for a good portion of the season and we could have had more distributed wins and fool people into thinking the others had a chance. But first season of franchise are really a hit or miss and only get really good on the second season.
as a Mexican I saw the promo..and I was so so so exited I was like my country is about to eat up best franchise drag race españa season 2 tease then the premier..I was conflicted the double shantay was questionable VERY I feel the same about ep1-7 umm anyways but then.. EP8 AMAZING The absolute best I’m so so sorry then the rest of the season was umm fine it had too much to live up to also Stan margaret y ya also too much favoritism😭 TLIDR: DRMX had too much too live up too and I like episode 8
i really like your point of how drag race isn’t used to competing with other drag shows. i’ve been observing la mas draga since season 4 and it is so cool, the looks are fuckin insane!! i’d love to see a sort of combination with the two series so that there is a wider audience. i think the issue with drag race mexico is that they simply could not stop giving it to cristian. like there were a few storylines they could have crafted; matraka being an underdog, regina vs cristian, gala doing anything. like the talent of the queens were so good that it felt such a waste.
Its kinda crazy to hear that the Drag Race brand is being challenged by another completition show like LMD, as a Brazilian perspective, the success of Brasil's season can be partially attributed to brand recognition alone, since (happily) brazilians are almost overexposed to drag queens at this point, so the Drag Race name is a big differential to attract viewers to the show. Love to see how different experiences and environments shape the world
Here's the thing I just wished the producers behind every international franchise actually came from the country that the franchise is in. I feel like if the bts did come from Mexico it would be much better as they know their culture better and would put every mexico reference that fans wouldn't get but we would love it because that represents the country more. Maybe that is why DRPH is so successful they didn't have any bts staff from US I think they had their own and through thay we learned so much from the Philippines and their drag culture
Just like your friends, I thought MX would be my first non-English season to commit to watching fully. I was stunned by the promo!! but the reception of the first few episodes didn't excite me so I dropped it. I am just glad you're back to uploading.. you have a unique approach of structuring your videos that is charming and easily followed even to a non-watcher.. I can't wait for more of your content. P.S.: the bookshelves look cute ;)
As a Mexican, I was waiting for this franchise for several years, when I saw the meet the queens, I was excited, since I knew several of the queens that were in the cast. And when the first episode started I feel it was because I was excited at the time that I didn't notice that it was going to be the beginning of a somewhat boring and disappointing season. The season was mostly full of favoritism towards Cristian Peralta who didn't let other queens who deserved more of those victories to have their moment. Pixie Pixie, Lady Kero, Regina Voce, Margaret Y Ya and maybe Matraka during the first half of the season could never have their moment, because they always gave Cristian the win or even a place in the top. That also happened in the second half but it was Regina or Gala Varo when they deserved the win more than Cristian. Another point to highlight was the scarcity of story lines that the queens could tell. The only story line they could tell was that Regina, Cristian and Gala were a Rolaskatox. Rumor has it that one or two fights were cut by the production. Another highlight of the season that is both good and bad was the lipsyncs, from episode four onwards the lip syncs were good to decent. While that of the first 3 episodes were pretty bad. In conclusion I could only highlight three good episodes out of all this season, since the rest were filler or boring episodes.
You said it perfectly yourself tbh - Christian was more than capable of winning on her own and would've gone down in the eyes of the fans as a fantastic, deserving winner but because of how the season played out she's going to be remembered as a recipient of favoritism more than anything
The biggest saboteurs of DRMX1: terrible edit, obvious favoritism, and the lip syncs. Thank you for mentioning LMD. I hope people give it a chance, S4 is the one I recommend starting with: strong cast, breath taking runways and a good pinch of drama 🤭💅
im actually glad that LMD had time to grow successful! I like drag race and somewhat enjoyed DRMX, but as a mexican that enjoys consuming drag content, i would never say its sad that an american production that is already well established did poorly compared to national projects. 😂 Its like saying you prefer Walmart to do better compared to small businesses. While I hope future seasons of DRMX take into consideration previous mistakes to try to perform better, I'm also very happy that LMD6 is doing great, engagement-wise. I'm already tired of the media dominance U.S. has. You guys are everywhere. 😂 And specially with DRMX it felt like such an americanized version of mexican culture, it almost did not feel authentic. I think thats why it hasnt resonated with the mexican audience as much as LMD does. For instance, I love Valentina but you can tell she has some trouble with her spanish and therefore the jokes just did not land. So idk, I guess I agree w you. I think DRMX has a long way to go if they wanna compete in the Mexican market. But personally I think they should stick to what they do better, good old american content.
Why DRMX suffered the most in your oppinion? As a watcher of both DRMX and DRGer I see no difference, appart from the guest judges being quite random in both franquises.
You stopped watching LMD on the bad seasons... 3 and 4 are the best ones so far. 5 five is good and 6 is looking strong as well. Hope you can watch them later down the line
i feel like everyone forgets that the episode 1 “double shantay” was because they did so horrendously bad that they wanted to give them a second chance 😭 they KNOW they did bad thats why they kept them
Thank you for talking about DRMX and La Mas Draga. La Mas Draga is huge in Mexico and within the gay Hispanic community in Spanish-speaking countries and the USA. I'm a fan of both. ❤
as someone who is mexican, lives, was born and all that here on mexico, and has seen all seasons of la mas draga wich is getting on the next tuesday a new season that is going to be like an all stars season, in my opinion, after la mas draga season 3 OR MAYBE EVEN season 2 drag race was already too late, because la mas draga was already a very popular charming product, that was needed, and i think many would probably agree that it was very late for drag race when la mas draga had already finished it's fifth seasons, and there had happened already the auditions for season six, wich came incredibly strong like a month after drag race mexico finished. THAT WITHOUT MENTIONING all the drama sorrounding how many people really did not like the judging and did not liked the lipsyncs for half the season, also when it came to cristian wining, yes she deserved it but i think for the fans most people wanted to see matraka take the crown.
I checked out of this season mentally once Pixie Pixie went home so soon. I used to try and watch all international seasons of Drag Race, but I just can't anymore. There's a time aspect, sure, but I'm also just sick of seeing the same things over and over again, just in different languages. Same story and editing choices, same recurring references for the Queens, same trauma mirror stuff, same behaviour and critiques from the judging panel. And I'm not even suggesting they shouldn't do this, because these international seasons are first and foremost FOR their home country's audience, with the assumption that most of that audience hasn't already become totally burned out on Drag Race - this is my own problem because I chose to try and watch everything.
off the back of this it would be really interesting to do a deep dive into why some seasons with a clear pre-destined winner are received so favourably (ES1, ES2, S15, S5, potentially UK2) as some of the best in the franchise while others (ES3, MX1, S13) are derided as among the worst despite all of them having the same glaring flaw. why do some seasons with seemingly prechosen winners soar and others dramatically flop? anyhow loved the video as always your reverence for the artistry of the queens always shines through, such a good vibes channel 🌟
The success on the views of the met the queens from DRMx was basically there is 128 millions of Mexicans. And also a lot of spanish speakers interested on it.
I think fans are noticing the producers' intentions better and the producers still haven't adapted. Not only in drag race Mexico but in all franchises. And I also think they're not understanding who the audience will like because people tend to forgive certain things when their favorite is "protected." I watch all franchises and I don't mind obvious winners as long as the storyline is good, that's what they need to do better overall.
Drag Race Brasil is the best Colombian franchise. I don't like how Mexico and Germany both try to shove Cristian and Pandora as winners. I miss when the each finalist would feel like they could win and now it just feels a One Drag Queen show with some other painters fighting to be runner-ups.
@@yourdudevini7407 oh my god if you're brazilian i'm asking you kindly to shut up because you can't stop hating organzza even here, stop being annoying if you're not i literally do not care, cope and you're not making sense because hellena and betina are also winner options
@@yourdudevini7407 Betina could've won the Makeover but I do feel like she did second best. Hellena could've won too but Organzza's was more creative IMO.
i really do think drag race mexico has the potential of being the most popular franchise after rupaul’s drag race. valentina is one of the most popular queens from any franchise and having her host mexico was a perfect choice. if drag race mexico looks back and really studies how season 1 went, i think season 2 can be a really great season. there’s so much history, art, culture and inspiration in mexico regarding drag and i hope season 2 can win back the fan base and be an amazing season!
A frustrating effect of the favoritism to me was how gala varo and Regina voce noticed her clear favoritism and glommed on to her heathers style, talking down all other girls and stating repeatedly that they’re obviously the top 3. This could build an interesting storyline with the competition proving that the other queens are valid but because production was unwilling to question Cristian before the audience, this estelares claim went completely unchallenged. It made them look worse, more stuck up, and it seemed undeserved because of the production meddling. I wanted to see them knocked off their pedestal a little, and yet.. all three in the finals and Cristian winning just left that storyline weirdly front and center. A storyline where the cliquey girls who think they’re better than everyone.. are told they’re better than everyone. So strange.
Love the video! DR Mexico 1 is the not worst thing ever, I've give it like a 7/10, it just giving Cristian 5 wins was overkill for no good reason and, much like Pitita's run, killed the competition to the point where rooting for anyone else felt meaningless. Personally, I think another big reason that held this season back that I kinda wish you delved into more, was the catastrophic premiere lipsync. Apparently Oscar in an interview stated that Lolita and Valentina wanted to make it double elim, but production didn't allow it, and that was a horrible decision on their part. Also, super glad you brought up the abandoment of Regina because she 100% deserved to be Cristian's rival for Top 2 over Matraka I'm sorry. The biggest crime of S1 imo was the fact that Regina didn't win EITHER performance challenge (aka Rusical or Girl Group), when that is LITERALLY showing her main talent of being a singer. I'd argue Cristian winning the Rusical over Regina is what killed the season.
@itsmathb I agree that Regina got favoritism in the 1st 3 episodes. She only won advert cuz of her runway, but after that, the judges just stopped caring about her for some reason, only caring about calling her old for the last third of the season
As a Mexican, this felt so much like an easy cash grab and looking back, it felt like it was only made to challenge another popular drag show in here. I was really dissapointed with the season and I hope next season they try to appeal the Mexicans instead of the American vision of what Mexico is
it is well known that drag race season 2 is going to be a thing, and it makes sense, honestly most of us watchers will wathc both products and suport all the queens in both fshows, however it is probably going to be more criticism torwards drag race mexico since, its not a product from here and if there are flaws, well we have something to compare it to, and we will; but at the end of the day mexico is a very passionate public, and probably we will keep seeing drag race mexico even if it is not that good. i just hope next season things are better. i don't think drag race mexico will strugle to survive, however it will be seen as lesser then if they don't do things better.
I was thinking the same thing, As soon as episode 2 I knew she would win, it was so obvious and it was frustrating, becuase I feel like a better winner would of been Matraka. she represented Mexico way better than Christian, I honestly also didnt like the judging pannel. they should of had only one either Valentina or Lolita. or someone with more experience. it was frustrating seeing Valentina not speak spanish that well too. I really hope they change somethings in season two but who knows.
Love all your comments! Besides favoritism, which I agree made a disservice to Christian winning, I think having Lolita as a co-host did not help either. She was a fantastic contestant in France, but as a judge in Mexico, she felt completely fake and rehearsed, which made the show cringy. Valentina did not need her help despite not being all that fluent in Spanish, she did an amazing job. Hopefully production learned and next season we get a better outcome.
I hope you make more videos often. You're the only one I know who does this kind of video focusing on international drag race franchises, and we're h u n g r y lol stay safe always, belakboy. i follow u in X, too💗
I have to disagree. I think what made this season interesting was that after 4 episodes I tought Cristian will win 1000% but then Matraka won ep 5,7,8 and suddenly they both had 3 wins, plus Matraka was fan favourite. But then Cristian slayed ep 9,10 and Matraka kinda flopped so only at the end of season it was evident who will win.
Yes I was feeling pissed off as you were not even mentioning inner frictions with the other competition. How naif I was .-D And very clever of you to make two separated narratives. DRMX as a phenomenon must be differently understood inside and outside the mexa scene.
I want to like LMD so bad and for a few seasons I did but the drag queen judge just became so insufferable. Like the queens could do flips while shooting ping pongs out their ass and that judge would STILL say she expected more. Plus the producers did not do themselves any favors this current season by yelling at the queens during their version of untucked for using the english words "look" and "queen"' like they havent been doing that the whole time. I also feel like they always just crown whoever spent the most money for the Finale so that got kinda boring
I still consume LMD and I have to agree with all your points.even tecpatl one about the editing. I don’t know if you guys do this but I can say that my friends and I consume now LMD and Drag Race just because we love the queens, we don’t trust judges if any of the franchises to be fair and that is just sad at this point
I’m hoping the judges and producers learn from this season and fix it the favoritism issue for Season 2. I feel like DragRacePH S1 also had a favoritism issue; favoring PPN (and Brigiding maybe) to win. The rusical and pageant challenge, PPN was given the roles she’s gonna kill (the kweens didn’t get to choose their roles). And the critiques for PPN during the makeover challenge seemed very biased.
I do somehow agree with the favoritism on DRPH S1 but it's as subtle as it could get. It's clear that the production had a soft heart towards PPN but the Rusical role she had was albeit still very risky especially performing it in front of the one she's portraying-she could've totally dominated or she could've flopped hard. In her case, I think she did great so I think the win was deserved. And that's her only challenge win in the entire season so going into the finale, she had a lesser chance of winning the crown (but then she showed in that lipsync for the crown against THE Marina Summers). I think no one thought of her winning the crown before the finale so the prods favors for her didn't really mess with the show like DRES 3 or even DRMX 1. I do agree that she should've been a bottom in the makeover episode. In terms of Brigiding, I mean she didn't win any badge and she'd been safe most of the episodes (which became her own storyline). Although I agree that the first two episodes, it's like she's being favored by the production being she's the most well-known queen at the time coming into the competition. She wasn't unfairly pushed to be high or anything because I think the production saw she wasn't giving as much as the other queens. I think her placements were fair. On the contrary, I think Minty Fresh was the more obvious favorite. In my opinion, Brigiding won their first lipsync (I'm not mad though, given that I also love Minty Fresh). So yes, DRPH S1 had a favoritism issue like ALL the other drag race franchises. They just differ in "acceptability."
Great video, you summarized perfectly the reasons why we felt disappointed with the season, especially when the cast was packed with a lot of talent and great personalities
I would love new franchises to give the frontrunners actual strong winner narratives and more challenge wins instead of just focusing on how much they flop over the season and being overshadow by the actual winners. It would feel less rigged and less obvious that way
I am totally with you on reason #1, but isn't the "why watch if we already know what's happening" very similar to the experience of season 15? We been knew that sasha was the winner since day 1 too, and she also had SOME questionable praise although she was clearly the best, and I don't think it made the view less interesting.
I predict DRMx was going to be "another season of DR" and that was it was. The fandom (specially the spanish americans) were already saying this was going to be "the best season ever"... 🙄 Creating those high and unreal expectations even before the season was aired, could easily end on blowing up the cognition bubble and falling into disappointment, and that's exactly what happened. Also DRMx just got the grace of being the first season aired of the ones filmed in Colombia, so ppl were also thrilled about the werk room, the stage and else... forgeting those were not going to be unique and only for DRMx. Every season announced from a country with a nice drag scene, is sold by some fans as 'the best ever going to exist', and then it just happends to happend. Fin. Like a deja vu, it happened again with DR Brasil 😂
Regarding criticisms of the anime makeup style, we have to take cultural aspects into account. Mexico is a very traditional country, where it is always difficult to accept the new and it is easier to cling to the retro and classic, even on the drag scene.
A lot of seasons this year seem to have this problem of choosing their winner far in advance and just not ever going with the flow. I'd have been far more excited about Christian as a winner had she been judged more fairly and been able to naturally rise to the top rather than being handed all these weird wins/highs even when she didn't necessarily deserve them
I still don't understand why production gave Regina a win on episode 3 for - in my opinion - a decent performance but not one worthy of the win, when they KNEW that the next episode was the Rusical and obviously Regina was going to demolish that challenge.
No hate to the queens but people are way too forgiving of LMD, the show that invites open homophobic celebrities as guest judges and glosses over controversial behavior in the competition
I dont agree with the makeup critique hate. With every artform tecnique comes first before experimentation. Even picasso had to master realism before making his own style. Margaret just had to show that she mastered the traditional makeup tecnique and then she could go back to her stylization. I have done makeups like margarets style before and i have never been able to do a traditional makeup because it’s not as easy as it looks.
But she did show that she knew how to do traditional makeup on the Episode 4 runway (the Gold Runway I mentioned in this video). And they still criticized her in episode 7 after returning to her stylization because “it’s clear [she] will never give us another makeup.”
It's a good critique if they do it to EVERYONE, but if they do it with only one queen and coincidentally it's the one that doesn't have a conventional makeup, it's kinda weird, isn't it?
because it is the traditional one, the one that by default everyone needs to know specially if it is a competition. if you are applying for an artist job having alternative art styles is a plus, but mastering the traditional ones or the one followed by the company is a REQUISITE @@hector_ln
This season was meh, the judging made it unwatchable, many queens robbed and diminished. Plus Cristian edit literally gave no charisma at all, besides, i think the edit felt he was bitter whenever he was in the bottom so why no give him 5 wins... I wanted to give the season a shot many episodes but in the end was mediocre 😢😢
What I’ve missed on DRMX was more cultural references. In comparison with Drag Race Brasil I believe there were fewer Mexican cultural statements throughout the season. I think it’s important not only due to make it clear it’s an international franchise, but also make Latin people the owner of this spotlight.
DR Mexico was such a let down. I was so hyped for it and they ruined it with the Cristian favoritism. Matraka saved it, so I have high hopes for season 2. And please let the Valentina rumors be false 🙏🏼
Another let down from DRMx was Valentina. Fight me.. she is not enough so they need to ad Lolita. Valentina is very much like a bouquet of flowers, beautiful, but not funny.

as a Mexican I saw the promo..and I was so so so exited I was like my country is about to eat up best franchise drag race españa season 2 tease then the premier..I was conflicted the double shantay was questionable VERY I feel the same about ep1-7 umm anyways but then.. EP8 AMAZING The absolute best I’m so so sorry then the rest of the season was umm fine it had too much to live up to also Stan margaret y ya also too much favoritism😭
TLIDR: DRMX had too much too live up too and I like episode 8
i really like your point of how drag race isn’t used to competing with other drag shows. i’ve been observing la mas draga since season 4 and it is so cool, the looks are fuckin insane!! i’d love to see a sort of combination with the two series so that there is a wider audience. i think the issue with drag race mexico is that they simply could not stop giving it to cristian. like there were a few storylines they could have crafted; matraka being an underdog, regina vs cristian, gala doing anything. like the talent of the queens were so good that it felt such a waste.
“Gala doing anything” SHADYYYY LMFAOO
@@belakboy i swear it wasn’t shady😭 they literally gave my girl nothing!!
THANK YOUUU
Mistress Mercury here! Love you Belak! I made a TikTok expressing these exact feelings about DR Mexico, I'm glad I'm not alone
THIS A
The EXACT same thing happened with Drag Race Brasil, the winner was already picked from the start
Both had suuuch a great cast and they ended up feeling a bit underwhelming 😐
They should keep casting queens from La Más Draga. So many queens from older seasons of LMD have applied for Season 2 of DR Mexico.
And let’s not forget the fact it was filmed in 🇨🇴 Colombia . Out of the three that were, Mexico 🇲🇽 suffered the most because of it for sure.
I wouldn’t stop asking who Alan Dee was😭 only to find out you were saying LMD
off the back of this it would be really interesting to do a deep dive into why some seasons with a clear pre-destined winner are received so favourably (ES1, ES2, S15, S5, potentially UK2) as some of the best in the franchise while others (ES3, MX1, S13) are derided as among the worst despite all of them having the same glaring flaw. why do some seasons with seemingly prechosen winners soar and others dramatically flop?
anyhow loved the video as always your reverence for the artistry of the queens always shines through, such a good vibes channel 🌟
ooh this is a good one! since you mentioned S13. I believe that 3/4 of the top 4 were because of riggory and favoritism.
yayyy love finding new channels and creators that are my vibe
This season goes to show that just because Valentina lives in her french vanilla fantasy, doesn't mean she should judge other DA's through it.
The success on the views of the met the queens from DRMx was basically there is 128 millions of Mexicans.
And also a lot of spanish speakers interested on it.
Dude if you think Mexico is rigged I can't wait to hear what you think of Brazil
I think fans are noticing the producers' intentions better and the producers still haven't adapted. Not only in drag race Mexico but in all franchises.
And I also think they're not understanding who the audience will like because people tend to forgive certain things when their favorite is "protected."
I watch all franchises and I don't mind obvious winners as long as the storyline is good, that's what they need to do better overall.
Favoritism? In a season hosted Valentina?
Groundbreaking.
Drag Race Brasil is the best Colombian franchise. I don't like how Mexico and Germany both try to shove Cristian and Pandora as winners. I miss when the each finalist would feel like they could win and now it just feels a One Drag Queen show with some other painters fighting to be runner-ups.
funny you saying that when they literally shoving Organzza as the winner
@@yourdudevini7407 oh my god if you're brazilian i'm asking you kindly to shut up because you can't stop hating organzza even here, stop being annoying
if you're not i literally do not care, cope
and you're not making sense because hellena and betina are also winner options
Yeah sure but u know ORGANZZA
@@yourdudevini7407 Betina could've won the Makeover but I do feel like she did second best. Hellena could've won too but Organzza's was more creative IMO.

Very much enjoying your posts. You're fire, Matt!
i really do think drag race mexico has the potential of being the most popular franchise after rupaul’s drag race. valentina is one of the most popular queens from any franchise and having her host mexico was a perfect choice. if drag race mexico looks back and really studies how season 1 went, i think season 2 can be a really great season. there’s so much history, art, culture and inspiration in mexico regarding drag and i hope season 2 can win back the fan base and be an amazing season!
I'd argue Cristian winning the Rusical over Regina is what killed the season.
be serious matraka totally killed but whatever
@itsmathb Matraka did great don't get me wrong, but I just felt Regina especially got ignored by the judges when she killed it for most of the season.
@@wildcard7449 for me Regina was the second queen with favoritism aside from cristian obviously but they just didn't give her wins
I was really dissapointed with the season and I hope next season they try to appeal the Mexicans instead of the American vision of what Mexico is
Totally agree, I’m not Mexican but watching LMD 6 is definitely a more pleasant viewing experience than DRMX1
I hope u watch the recent season of LMD you gon love them.
it is well known that drag race season 2 is going to be a thing, and it makes sense, honestly most of us watchers will wathc both products and suport all the queens in both fshows, however it is probably going to be more criticism torwards drag race mexico since, its not a product from here and if there are flaws, well we have something to compare it to, and we will; but at the end of the day mexico is a very passionate public, and probably we will keep seeing drag race mexico even if it is not that good. i just hope next season things are better. i don't think drag race mexico will strugle to survive, however it will be seen as lesser then if they don't do things better.
You're the only one I know who does this kind of video focusing on international drag race franchises, and we're h u n g r y lol stay safe always, belakboy. i follow u in X, too💗
Would love a video of you expanding on la mas draga and its evolution as a franchise now that the all stars season is coming
Both of paramount seasons from last year got their winner chose by the get go of the season (christian, organzza and pandora)
It's also long af and edited so clumsily
Lolita might be one of the kindest and best hosts of any season. She truly loves the queens
We been knew that sasha was the winner since day 1 too, and she also had SOME questionable praise although she was clearly the best, and I don't think it made the view less interesting.
ever since the beggining being able to tell who's gonna win is so annoying and ends up screwing all the other queens because people stop watching
So happy to see another TH-cam video from you
Missed your videos! Will you do a video about Drag Race Brasil and Drag Race Germany?
the sad thing is. even if there was no rigging. christian was likely going to win too
I predict DRMx was going to be "another season of DR" and that was it was.
The fandom (specially the spanish americans) were already saying this was going to be "the best season ever"... 🙄
Creating those high and unreal expectations even before the season was aired, could easily end on blowing up the cognition bubble and falling into disappointment, and that's exactly what happened.
"LMD's genesis" wasn't she Minnie Cooper's snatch game
Regarding criticisms of the anime makeup style, we have to take cultural aspects into account. Mexico is a very traditional country, where it is always difficult to accept the new and it is easier to cling to the retro and classic, even on the drag scene.
A lot of seasons this year seem to have this problem of choosing their winner far in advance and just not ever going with the flow. I'd have been far more excited about Christian as a winner had she been judged more fairly and been able to naturally rise to the top rather than being handed all these weird wins/highs even when she didn't necessarily deserve them
OMG I LOOK SO TIRED.... 😩☠️
✨THAT'S CUZ I AM✨🤭
Matraka didn’t win so I’m extremely mad 😅 hopefully season 2 learns from its mistakes cause I want it to be better than la mas draga
I still don't understand why production gave Regina a win on episode 3 for - in my opinion - a decent performance but not one worthy of the win, when they KNEW that the next episode was the Rusical and obviously Regina was going to demolish that challenge.
Also, España’s producer went to do Mexico s1 so the season had similar problems to España 3 but to me, España 3 was more enjoyable than Mexico 1
My EXACT thoughts starting Ep. 2. I really wanted to love this season. They pushed CP too much.
No hate to the queens but people are way too forgiving of LMD, the show that invites open homophobic celebrities as guest judges and glosses over controversial behavior in the competition
MATRAKA TRAKA
TU LO QUE QUIERES MA MA

consider that Miss Vallarta’s skin of her drag is pink color.
loved the video!! pls do one about brasil and germany too
I feel like they should of just had Valentina as the main judge. Lolita banana Made me want to 🤮
I didn’t watch but I’m interested to see how you felt lol
Oh dang it did NOT have good ratings omg
i think the obvious winner problem was a common thing between all of the paramount seasons… 😅 but mexico was definitely the worst case cenario
Well YES! The tea was spilled!!!!
I just don’t agree when it comes to Margaret. She always look the same
Her makeup isn't the cleanest application either
Y'all and this Cristain axing 😂

OH MY GOD. Thank yooooou
If you're determined to be mad, I guess you're gonna be mad. I loved Drag Race Mexico and can't wait for Season 2.
Im obsessed with Drag Race Mexico
And I love LMD is there..it keeps DR MEXICO on their toes
And DR MEXICO should include Venezuela, Chile and Columbia
Colombia, the country, Columbia, the university.
And.. WTF? Those are other countries with their own drag scene and culture. 🤨
I fell in love with you by watching this video
This season was meh, the judging made it unwatchable, many queens robbed and diminished.
Plus Cristian edit literally gave no charisma at all, besides, i think the edit felt he was bitter whenever he was in the bottom so why no give him 5 wins...
I wanted to give the season a shot many episodes but in the end was mediocre 😢😢
Additionally, can we appreciate how cute you look? Wow
What I’ve missed on DRMX was more cultural references. In comparison with Drag Race Brasil I believe there were fewer Mexican cultural statements throughout the season. I think it’s important not only due to make it clear it’s an international franchise, but also make Latin people the owner of this spotlight.
wait… did we hate drag race mexico???? it’s one of my favorite of the year???
DR Mexico was such a let down. I was so hyped for it and they ruined it with the Cristian favoritism. Matraka saved it, so I have high hopes for season 2. And please let the Valentina rumors be false 🙏🏼
I'm conflicted as well, I want to listen to you for hours talking about DR and I also want to send you kisses (you're too gorgeous)
Apart from the incoming international franchises (Japan, Korea,...) which new country would you like to see ?
Another let down from DRMx was Valentina. Fight me.. she is not enough so they need to ad Lolita.
Valentina is very much like a bouquet of flowers, beautiful, but not funny.
idk i liked the season but it just could me being biased since i’m of latin descent
