My marriage advice is focus on changing yourself, not the other person. Also, keep your parents and siblings out of your fights. Women especially run to their parents in fights with their Husband. You will move on, but your parents will remember what you told them about your spouse. So, keep arguments between the two of you.
Does that mean changing urself to make up for what ur husband is lacking in what u need from him. So if u need more reassurances and he isn't giving it I need to change? Sorry I have no parents or siblings to guide me
@jenniesmith9788 HI Jennie! I mean, we can't change the faults we see in our husband. We can't make them do anything we want. Wives and husband's both fall short and have failures. I mean, focus on changing yourself to be a better wife....you can only control you. So many times in marriage, and womwn especially....we try and change the other person. We can't change or control someone else. If you need more reassurance, words of affirmation may be your " love language ". You need that from him....but, you can't make him say those to you. You don't change what you need, but you work on being the best wife you can...because you can only control you. If you have expressed your need for more assurance and he doesn't give it, then take it to the Lord. Nagging won't help.
I love hearing about your love for the Lord and desire to follow and live for Him! We met the Bates family many years ago and even went to their church while in town visiting our family. My husband and I have now been married for 30 years. Best marriage advice: the closer you both are to God, the closer you will be to each other.
Yep, That's the Truth!!I've been married 50 years in September. It's been very rough those first 5 years!! Them he went through a midlife crisis and we almost divorced!! But I married for life!! I've had 4 Step Mom's and 4 step dads do I made up my mind to work our our problems!! It's been better since 2020 then again things happen but hopefully that was the end of it. Things are better now and we are involved in our church of 2 yr.s so Please Pray that Hod eill Bless our Marriage and our family. Thanks !!!
Marriage advice that has helped us in our 17+year marriage is understanding that who you married on your wedding day is not who you'll be married to in X number of years. God has big plans for the growth of you and your spouse and allowing your spouse and self the space to grow into that future warrior is vital. The friction comes in making sure you stay unified, on mission and growing TOGETHER as well. There will be times when God is stretching you in an area and you'll feel vulnerable. Invite your spouse into that space and ask for prayer as you grow. Plus LOTS and LOTS of laughter!
My advice for a good marriage is to make sure you’re growing together. It is very important to cultivate your own identity and nurture that, but ultimately you’re a team so you need to “check-in” with each other and make sure you’re still rooted together. When issues do arise, there’s no shame in seeking counsel from your loved ones, they see you from a unique perspective and should be invested in the success of your commitment to each other. Always choose kind words. Even if you’re the most angry and hurt you’ve ever been, always soften your words. Piling hurtful words on top of an already bad situation can leave permanent damage. Give grace but also expect the same respect in return. All the best to you! 💕
I really liked this Q and A. I think some people have the idea that you have to "wow" us to keep us watching. I actually like the day to day things. What projects you work on? how you spend your time? What does Tiffany do? Does she have projects? Are you learning new skills? It would be neat to join you in learning that even if it is just someone coming over to teach you how to cook something. There is enough drama in the world around us. I enjoy watching as a break from the drama on the internet. But then again, that just may be me.
I appreciate how this Q&A was done. It pleased my heart to know that you both have the heart to ministry to someone who may been struggling with issues. You seem very relatable. I was encouraged 💛
Literally, Lawson and Trace sound identical and even have the same choppiness and voice inflections when they talk. They even resemble each other the most. Pretty cool.
This is for lawson .. I know that Tiffany has been into acting , how would you feel if she had been given a leading part with an amazing pay but had a kissing scene ??
I’m the oldest of 10, we have 5 boys and 5 girls (plus we lost two babies) I LOVE having the amount of siblings I have, always would’ve loved to have more but this is how God wanted our family and it’s wonderful!! Love listening to answer all these questions 😊
My husband is Mexican and I someone asked once what it was like to be in an interracial marriage and I was absolutely puzzled. We had been together for almost 5 years at the time, and it had honestly never been a second thought to me. It never even occurred to me that we were as strange as that sounds. We've never had any issues with each other or anyone else for that matter. So I definitely understand!
It does seem like an odd question to ask in today’s world but the person posing the question may be a little behind the times - but that’s okay as long as the question is asked with a good heart and no underlying prejudice.
I'm a gen-x and I think it's an incredibly rude "one of these things is not like the other" type question, but today everyone and everything is racist so race has to be an issue and it's suddenly ok to bring up that we're all different (aka better or worse race) and oppressed or oppressor.
@@ssh6414 I actually disagree with the both of you. For the most part, people who ask are just curious. I'm in an interracial relationship and going into it, I never thought about some of the struggles (based on our differences in race and culture) we had to work through during our first year. God really blessed us, because we are stronger now after those conversations.
Loved the Badlands, Mt. Rushmore, Tombstone and etc. In South Dakota. Got to check it out. We did it on a motorcycle trip. That's a way to take it all in.
Love watching you two are the sweetest together. My husband and I have been married for 29years and together 32 year in April. Best advice I could give is never got to bed angry always work it out even if you have to stay up all night to work it out. Best part of arguing is making up. Truthfully I can't even get mad at my husband he makes me laugh too much.
You guys are amazing! To be able to say we all need a Savior is so true and isn't it wonderful you can say that and be totally honest with your life and have the peace that only a Savior can give. It doesn't matter what others think. Keep living your lives with your Savior. Love the Bates.
Been married years almost 34. During your marriage always place God first It truly helps to understand how each of you is designed. Always communicate with each other and be honest. respect each other and the decisions you make. Blessings
Marriage is GREAT! 25 yrs and never a fight! It is possible! Disagree like mature adults! No need to say harsh words that leave wounds!! God made marriage to be WONDERFUL🌸❤️🌸❤️
Lawson, have you thought about making Tiffany a permanent part of your singing career. She has a wonderful voice and was taught to sing professionally.
I do agree with you that if you're able to only kiss your spouse, that is a special blessing. When I got married my husband was the only man I ever kissed. Though, after his death, there was one man I kissed. I hate that I let him wear me down, because I since have found it best to end that relationship. Please let's take our kisses more serious and not fall for the "test drive" theory. It can be such a slippery slope
I am an only child but I have alot of cousins, the best advice I could give you is at least have two babies. I have two and at times they drive each other insane but if one needs the other they are there. As for marriage advice just be 100% honest with each other and don't let those little things turn into something huge. Don't let outside influence come between you and say I love you as much as possible. Y'all are sweet God Bless

Lawson, how has your relationship changed with your siblings since being married? Tiffany is being around Lawsons Family and they’re all there ever overwhelming for you?
One of my favorite shows is the Dick Van Dyke show too, I love all of the old shows!! I love Andy Griffith too. Thanks for answering all these questions.
I live in “Mayberry”. For real. It’s the town Andy grew up in and based the show on. Pilot Mountain (Mt Pilot on the show) is right south of us. The city is called Mt Airy NC. Andy is huge here.

Hi Lawson and Tiffany🥰 Great video😉 I am Adopted I grew up with Two brothers who were also Adopted were all 4 years apart. I Thank God our parents adopted us.. We were so fortunate to have the life given to us❤ Have a Blessed Day you two.💛💚 from Wisconsin
When you had that question about Hollywood, I wanted to check IMDB to see if I've seen anything she was in. The episode of "NCIS" was just on a few days ago! And I watch "Criminal Minds" also. That is so cool! 😁
I really wanted to hear Tiffany share more of her life. Did she take singing lessons or all natural talent? How did she get into Acting? Any future roles? What are her dreams, fears, etc? Something new she'd like to learn or do? I just love you two so much.
By the way Tiffany, if you plan to travel from Scotland to London, there is a train you can travel overnight from either Glasgow or Edinburgh to London, it is called the Caledonian Sleeper, you can look at a TH-cam video showing the train, it is meant to be really nice and it travels overnight
I asked this question on another forum hopefully you will answer it next. Tiffany, did you ever watch the show Bringing up Bates or United Bates of America before you met Lawson and if so what did you think?
I am the oldest of 4 children. I did not get married until I was 29. I miscarried twins before we had our only child, a daughter, when I was 31. We started trying for a sibling for her when she was 18 months old, but it was not in the cards for us. I now know I suffer from PCOS. My daughter suffers from the same thing. She had 7 miscarriages and had 2 stillborn daughters before she was blessed with our first grandson 16 months ago. His name is Bennett, which means blessed one and he is definitely a blessing for our family. They are trying to expand our family, but we will see what our future holds. I hope that she is able to give him siblings because being an only child has been lonely for her. Now that we are older, she knows that soon her Dad and I will leave this earth. We have been married 33 years. My advise is to just enjoy each other, some years will be wonderful, some will be trying, some will be hard but in the end spending them together is a blessing. We try to never go to bed angry with each other and to communicate well so that when there are disagreements so that you can resolve your issues together. Do not be afraid to ask for advise from someone you trust when you cannot resolve an issue without help. If that means seeking counsel to help you communicate better, then get some help.
Sorry I missed the opportunity to ask questions earlier but I have several questions for you now what is your budget strategy and how do you stick to it? my 2nd question is Tiffany are you nervous about being pregnant and raising a children? 3rd question is Are you going to continue acting and if so, what type of roles would you like to play in the future? final question is How do you plan on raising your children TV or no tv, home school or public school?
Marriage advice: honor and love are key. Discuss disagreements and hear each other out. Speak those love languages often! I grew up in a 4 child family but unfortunately our family was not Christian and my Dad was married 4xs, my mom 3xs. I was the youngest and ther only girl. My two oldest brothers had the same mom. I was born 12 years later then my dad's last wife had a son who was 4 years older then me. He and I were close but I did sometimes wish I had someone else to play with and do things with. None of my brothers have much to do with me or my family so sometimes its crummy being the youngest and being left behind. We have 5 and homeschool and are Christians so we are the weirdos in our families 🤣. I pray our children stay close and involved with each other all their lives.
Good video you two were so open , honest and truly authentic in this video and all the videos you post on your channel here on TH-cam thanks a bunch for posting I love your video channel
You guys are so awesome and humble, I love your videos. No questions for you, but one piece of advice, if you don't already do it, say I love you aaallll the time. My hubby and I still say it at least 10 times a day after 18 years of marraige. We say it going to bed, getting up for the day, if one of us leaves the house for even ten minutes, and just for no reason at all.. Also, do not go to bed mad at each other. Work it out, even if it takes a long time..then say I love you before bed, even after an argument.
I’m from South Dakota!! I highly recommend a good week in the Black Hills. Also, the Little House books are based in DeSmet on the eastern side of SoDak.
You are such an adorable couple and your love for the Lord is going to take you far. I also live the same shows that you do!! I watch them all the time!
Love this! Also love how you answered quickly and got more questions in. Easy to watch and fun! Love You two! Sometimes utube folks ramble with a lot of extra unnecessary words and they’re hard to listen to. This was perfect! 😊👍🏻😊
Could you explain the modesty standards of your family Lawson? Then can you compare them to what you guys have not only chosen for Tiffany but also your future daughter(s)? Of course for the next Q&A.
My tip. After you have kids, ALWAYS will be on the same page in front of😊 the kids. EVEN IF you disagree! I've been married 42 years come June. We raised 3 sons. We never disagreed about the kids in front of the kids!!😊
I ❤️ your family. I have been watching your shows since the beginning. I signed up for UpTV to watch your show. I cancelled the subscription because they dropped your show. I am thrilled that so many of the children have blogs/channels. Thank you for all your family does in furtherance of the Gospel 💒
Couple marriage tips…. The priest at my cousins wedding provided this tip (I was 8 and this stuck)- “Never lay your head down mad. Resolve your disputes before you go to bed”. Secondly, something I remind my friends and myself at times…. Your on the same team- it’s you two against the world. When you have kids- you’ll have to remind yourself this daily 😂
Love watching your videos and those of your siblings.....the only way to keep up with your family! I have watched your family from the very beginning! Wish you could come back to tv!

Me and my hubby have been together for almost 30 years... He is black and I am white... The advice I have for the both of you is there is no problem to big or to small you can't fix together... So never go to bed with anger... And always have trust and communication....

My marriage advice is focus on changing yourself, not the other person. Also, keep your parents and siblings out of your fights. Women especially run to their parents in fights with their Husband.
You are a happy loving couple. Do what God leads you to do and go where He sends you. Just remember to take us with. 🥰
Love Adrian Rogers. Just heard an old Christmas message: Mary had a little Lamb....so awesome.
You will be learning for the rest of your life. It is the appointed way of growth.
I am so happy you have god in your life he looks after each of us
When you had that question about Hollywood, I wanted to check IMDB to see if I've seen anything she was in. The episode of "NCIS" was just on a few days ago! And I watch "Criminal Minds" also. That is so cool! 😁
I have 5 siblings and would've loved more but also see why God has it this way!
I like it when you share things. God bless you both! ❤️🙏
I really wanted to hear Tiffany share more of her life. Did she take singing lessons or all natural talent? How did she get into Acting? Any future roles? What are her dreams, fears, etc? Something new she'd like to learn or do? I just love you two so much.
Told hubby ten when we got married and were a bit over halfway there 😂❤️🙏🏻 God is good.
Great Question!
Thanks! I don't know why but I've always been curious about that.
You two are precious! Many blessings to you both. ❤
My husband and I love watching Adrian Rogers! We enjoy watching and listening to Dr David Jeremiah as well.
You and Lawson need to do the date challenge Katie and Travis did.
Sorry I missed the opportunity to ask questions earlier but I have several questions for you now
what is your budget strategy and how do you stick to it? my 2nd question is Tiffany are you nervous about being pregnant and raising a children?
Great video. Appreciate your openness and graciousness in answering all the questions. Always looking forward to your next video. 👍❤️
Good video you two were so open , honest and truly authentic in this video and all the videos you post on your channel here on TH-cam thanks a bunch for posting I love your video channel
Definitely a must to go to Yellowstone and the Badlands. Take a RV, one of the best ways to see both places!
Came from a family of 13! Loved it and would’ve totally want more siblings! I’m the oldest too! God is so good.
You two are so cute together. Enjoyed this video.
Blessings to you both. Beautiful couple.
Thank you for sharing. All that you do all of
Look into the marriage journal by the roloff. You can keep your own and not buy theirs. However it is to remember to check with each other each week.
I think u guys should go to Paris. What an amazing video. God bless you all!!!
Love your answer to the interracial question. Who sees colour when love is around.
I’m from South Dakota!! I highly recommend a good week in the Black Hills. Also, the Little House books are based in DeSmet on the eastern side of SoDak.
You two are a beautiful couple.
You are such an adorable couple and your love for the Lord is going to take you far. I also live the same shows that you do!! I watch them all the time!
Love this! Also love how you answered quickly and got more questions in. Easy to watch and fun! Love
You two! Sometimes utube folks ramble with a lot of extra unnecessary words and they’re hard to listen to. This was perfect! 😊👍🏻😊
I too don't drink, I am alergic to it but I also like to be in control of myself and surroundings
Love, love, love this! God bless you beautiful kids always. 🙏💙❤️🙏
I currently have 4 and would love more, I trust when the time is right the Lord will fulfill the desire in my hear.
You are both such treasures! Stay honest, humble, and always connected to our Lord & Savior Jesus Christ!
Great video!! Keep making your videos
Great job! Your honesty and transparency is so impressive. I love how much you talk about your relationship with the Lord.
Adrian Rogers is one of my favorite preachers as well. I enjoy watching his sermons on Love Worth Finding. Ralph Sexton Jr is another great preacher, he peaches on Bible prophecy.
I'm from the North East of England which is a great place to visit between Scotland and London, but lived in London for a while and it is such an amazing and vibrant place and definitely worth a visit as is Scotland. Also love the Southern drawl!
Me and my hubby have been together for almost 30 years... He is black and I am white... The advice I have for the both of you is there is no problem to big or to small you can't fix together... So never go to bed with anger... And always have trust and communication....
I also have a heart for Europe. It would be so great to see you guys visit the English countryside, like the Cotswolds. And Augsburg, Germany where my oldest child was born. I can’t wait to see where you go! 🇬🇧🇩🇪 🇺🇸
You two are the best!! I would like to see a video of the tourist part of Nashville. One lady said 5th & Broadway was the place to go for shopping, and dining. Could you show us around at some point? Do you see a lot of famous people walking around? I want to visit Nashville sometime. Thank you for sharing answers to such personal questions us nosy people asked. LOL!! God bless you. Warm hugs & love sent. ♥️
P.S. I miss "Bringing up Bates" so much. I'm so thankful you, and your brother's and sister's do videos. Please tell everyone I appreciate all of them taking the time out to do it. I always want to stay connected with The Bates!!
