At the grand old age of 103, having serenaded the moon with Sinatra and crooned alongside the crickets, I thought I'd heard every melody under the sun. But your rendition of "Skylark" has me flapping my ancient feathers, ready to take flight once again. It's as if you've plucked the strings of the harp that plays at the gates of dawn, inviting me on a journey through skies painted with the colors of youth and dreams. Your harmonies have me doing the Charleston in mid-air, proving that even in the autumn of one's years, music like yours can give us wings we never knew we had. Here's to you, the maestros of melody, who've turned an old bird like me into a nightingale, eager to sing along and soar on the breeze of your beautiful "Skylark." May your tunes continue to lift spirits, proving that age is just a number and music is indeed a fountain of eternal youth!
Congratulations on achieving so many years and for retaining your hearing sufficiently to be able to enjoy this delicious arrangement, so flawlessly performed. May your remaining years be blessed by beauty that I know you won't fail to notice and appreciate ❤️
People, I am 77 years old, your harmony in quality and sound is by far the best I’ve ever heard in all my time on this planet. One great big thank you for all the enjoyment and pleasure. More please!
I am 81 years old and I’ve been singing all my life. First fell in love with the Hi Lo’s in high-school, formed my own quartet trying to duplicate that wonderful dissonance and have literally fallen in love with the possibilities of the human voice (my wife is a singer). That impossible chord at 1:38 makes me laugh and cry at once. And your Mas Que Nada … oh my! Bless you kids. May your careers soar like your music.
Beautiful blend and arrangement. Such gifted musicians. Their classical training supports their sound and gives their tonal quality added depth and richness. Best of all, their versatility and expressive joy of singing are infectious! Judging by the quality of the recording, I would venture to say they recorded the vocals in a studio while watching their live performance. If that's true, it's a nod to their professionalism and flawless musicianship. This performance is a gem.
Oh wow. I am genuinly so moved by this arrangement. The singing is so beautiful and the arrangement is absolute perfection. Those little inner movements and all those Drop-2 voicings and the suspensions and OHHHH! Love this so so much. Thank you for making my week
Purely magnificent. These people are the shining example of what happens when highly talented and intensely dedicated singers find a sweet spot of performance in this world. Truly, how much better than this can music be on this earth? Bravo! Bravo! BraaaaaVo!!!!
This is brilliantly arranged. I’m in a semi-professional ensemble and love to hear the intricacies of the middle voices. Weaving around each other. Gorgeous tone, fantastic arrangement, and an overall beautiful performance. I want more from you! 🎶❤️
After Hi-Lo's, Singers Unlimited, The Real Group, Supersax and L.A. Voices (one of the best) and so many others, you reached perfection. Certainly my choice. Wonderful arrangement and singing. Soft and beautiful.
Bravo! Bravo! Great to see you're back! (Leave it to TH-cam to not let your subscribers know of a new release) An awesome arrangement, extremely tasty as usual, thanks. More please. /RayK
This gives me goose bumps!. Bless you guys. I'm a jazz multiinstrumentist composer/arranger from Asunción, Paraguay. I started in highschool arranging and directing a vocal group. You all are a unique vocal group as well as friends, something not very common in these days. (The two ladies are lovely and gracious 💐). Congrats, Carlos Schvartzman
You are amazing! This lovely intricate arrangement blended so perfectly with your gorgeous voices is still vibrating in my heart and mind. Must listen again.....and again!
As usual, the comments below speak to the musical knowledge/intelligence of your fans/listeners. I'm sure that you, as a group, must know that you appeal to a sophisticated, thus, narrow audience. Your collective vocal excellence is astonishing. I DO hope that you realize that. Now to Jared and his arrangements: Good grief, how can you be so "inventive" while still remaining to the familiar? (It's a rhetorical question.) My first introduction to this group was to finally listen to your arrangement of "Oh, Danny Boy," I song I usually detest. Given this was in a playlist that kept popping up until I finally listened, I finally broke down and listened. I was surprised ... and s ent a link to a musician friend who, I knew, also disliked most versions of "Danny Boy." (Because, let's be honest, Most. Are. Bad.) He was also intrigued ... and, thus, the two of us have embarked on following your group, despite the fact that we live in Seattle, which is not where you're going to tour --- at least, for a while. That aside, Jared, after two wonderful arrangements of Hoagy Carmichael songs (Nearness & Skylark), I DO hope you have at least two more Carmichael arrangements in you: Stardust and Georgia on my Mind. Not trying to apply pressure, but, gosh, golly, gee whiz! You could do something special with both.
Man!!! Always love an a capella. Especially one that's so close to pitch perfect. Great arrangement, guys. How about something up tempo...? Thanks a bundle. If you guys can do My One and Only Love it'll be wonderful!!!!
sounds like a GQ/Instant Classic collab, absolutely love it edit: a week later I've now discovered that it literally is a GQ/IC collab, no wonder I thought this haha
Sweet!! Tight! Luscious blend! There's a cool vibe coming from ya'll. Have you looked into any arrangements by Derrick Johnson? He is the music director for Voices of America at EPCOT. Or do you arrange your own material?
NICE turn-around from the bridge back into the tune! The melody seems too far back in the mix sometimes, and, I am not a huge fan of ALL the voices releasing into vibrato at the ends of phrases just because the vertical integrity gets shaky if everyone does it. Maybe just the melody. JMHO. Nice chart!
I would have appreciated it even more with a much more natural sound. By dint of working at the mixing console to flatter the voices, it tires my ears, a bit like a cake stuffed with sugar.

Absolutely agree with everything, especially the Drop-2 mention! That, and “Skylark” has been my unofficial “anthem” for my whole college career. ❤️🎶
The Real Group + Swingle Singers = Highline!!! I don't impress easy, and I am _impressed!_ So glad I subscribed!!!
Amazing!

Different arrangement, same song!
Beautiful singing and wonderful arrangement. Is there any chance that I might be able to purchase the score?
How in the world did you ever get that bird to fly right through the scene during the final fadeout? Inquiring minds want to know!

Where's the tall guy? 🤔

Whatever happened to your bass JARED ?????
Great sound but I think having it dubbed takes away from it. Just videotape it in the studio.
uhhh😮💨😮💨
