The amino acids in maca root explains why some people are able to build muscle mass while taking it. No other TH-cam channel was able to explain that except for this channel. Thank you🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽
Wow I've had some maca here i bought last year and never even opened it ... i could have been having all those benefits all this time . Great report , ss always; thank you for all the research you do .
I've spent a few months in Peru and would buy maca from the bulk bin to add to my porridge. The Peruvians in the high Andes will eat a pound of it a day, how does this relate to the recommended dose of 3.5 grams? Thanks for all of your fantastic videos, Aloha.
Recommended dosage of Maca for cognitive benefit is up to 5 grams per day. We use Maca as a supplement for cognitive benefit. On the other hand, Maca has been used as a staple food source by the native Inca and pre-Inca of the Central Peruvian Andes for thousands of years. That's the difference. We use Maca as a nootropic. Peruvians use Maca for food.
Hi David, really nice and informative videos. I have one question, I've recently ordered Ashwagandha, Maca, Gingko Biloba and Panax Ginseng. I know the dosages, but should I cycle them ? I've researched them on the internet, found out that I do not have to cycle Ashwagandha, Gingko Biloba and Panax Ginseng (do you agree with that?), but cannot find that information for Maca.
It's wonderful to see the comment section turned on . That was the one and only frustrating thing about this very EXCELLENT and thorough channel ... please , please keep it turned on . Keep up the good work with your thorough research on these healers .
Abdi, there are no clinical studies showing MACA is safe to use long-term but that is primarily because no one want to pay for a long-term study. But the indigenous people of the Andes have been using MACA daily and have been for thousands of years.
Some people say that Maca should be stopped after 3 months for a whole month, or after 3 weeks for a whole week, or after 3 days for a day. What do you think and recommend about that?
@@ebadawi2 The problem with statements like that is they are nearly always not original and not backed up by any clinical proof. Most of the time some blogger at one point made an unsubstantiated statement and it was copied by all the other bloggers you've been reading since. That's one of the reasons Nootropics Expert has become the authority on nootropic supplements. Because I do NOT rely on hearsay. Every single statement I make about a supplement is backed by peer-reviewed clinical studies. Or I don't make the statement.
You should be able to combine them with no issues. But I'd try each one separately first because if something goes wrong you need to be able to know what caused the problem.
It depends on what you want Maca to do for you. Black Maca has been shown to boost learning and memory. And all three types of Maca provide antidepressant benefits.
New subscriber here. First of all I really appreciate your channel and your honesty. Can I use Maca while I am using Ashwaganda , Rhodiola Rosea , and Lion’s mane? Thank you a million for sharing your knowledge.
Sleeper, good question. Maca is high in glucosinolates and some studies show that dietary glucosinolate intake was associated with a moderately higher risk of Type 2 diabetes (pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/29635498/). So likely not a good idea for someone who is diabetic.
I was taking fadogia agrestis and tongkat ali, took these for a month and i'm now cycling off by replacing them with ashwagandha and maca with fenugreek. Any toughts on my process? Is it necessary to cycle off tongkat and fadogia? Is it good to cycle w maca and ashwa?

Thank you Caleb.
Hello. Can l use Maca and another vitamin and minerals like B group, zinc, magnesium and potassium? Thank you!
Yes you can Anastasia. Good question too. Because is some ways Maca is like a multivitamin.
Wow Maca nearly does everything , surprised that the FDA doesn't get involved
What a great video and channel. Glad I found you!
Welcome aboard!
Can you take Maca with Ginseng? I started taking Ginseng and I'm feeling great, so I wonder if Maca would be another great addition
Leonardo, you can certainly use them together so it is worth trying.

Essam, who are these "some people"? And what authority do they possess?
@@NootropicsExpert I don't recall names (and backgrounds), but it's wide spread saying on the web.
And the explanation provided that's Maca is adaptogen so don't let the body adapt on it. (or something like that)

Maca is not contraindicated with any of the other nootropic supplements you mentioned. There should not be a problem for 'most' people.

How sachet of maca yellow power a woman having fibroid take before it goes away?
Grace, hopefully someone from Peru will see you question and have an answer for you. I only deal with how Maca works in your brain.

Thanks for watching Evita!

You can use up to 5 grams of Maca per day. I suggest earlier in the day first to see how your body reacts to it.

Alex, I am not a fan of cycling most supplements. As long as you follow dosage recommendations.
How about the chinese herb: Polygonatum Sibirium ??
What about it?
Can Maca stop your cycle?
Amy, is won't stop your cycle. But it can help tame PMS symptoms including mood
Smells like Urine
Amazing stuff
The pills come in 500mg, so I'm assuming I would need to take 7 - 10 pills.
Actually, it says 500mg extract equal to 2000mg root. So maybe take 2 pills.
If you are referring to Maca , the recommended dosage of Maca for cognitive benefit is up to 5 grams per day.
Caution Maca and thyroid problems
I do not recall mentioning Maca in this video.
