Life has and is teaching me. I read alot and listen to many teachers. I feel I have learned alot through this channel. I'm very grateful to have had the opportunity to listen for so many hours. I am a student of A Course in Miracles. I love to read and listen to Eckhart Tolle. These activities are a part of my work and integrating what I learn requires me to pay attention to everything. It may not seem to the outside world that I am doing that. But, for me, that is how my "inner guru", "my higher self", or the "Holy Spirit" works on me. Sometimes it seems nothing can break through and I have to sit with fear or anger while that higher part of me is bringing me to reason. It always does and it always shows me where my confusion is...and it's always in my thought. Thank you Rick for so generously sharing your work on TH-cam.
She seems like a nice lady, but I am surprised she too a Hindu name. Her Bio says she ''does not consider herself a Hindu''. There is nothing wrong with being John Smith or Steven Grey (Adyashanti's real name)..Joe Blow is just as much the divine as some fancy hindu personage.
Thank you, I loved this. Rick, I can see the change in you since I started watching these.. as much as people bitch and moan, you're far more relaxed and open and the conversation flows more easily... and please don't "get enlightened", then we'll lose you, and that'll be a shame :)
it is sad always to hear that people need gurus ( 99% ) , as it is sometimes not an option for some people to have one . some of us have books, internet and meditation only .. wouldn't this be enough ?
No one needs a guru. But they can be helpful, especially at the start. All you need is consistent meditation and you'll see a lot of progress that way anyways and source is always around you and in you anyways, and you will learn how to intuitively feel and connect with it and with any guru in subtle form. And what is there to learn except to be still? Also nature has gifted us abundantly with many amazing plant teachers also.
i don't deny that having a guru to help along the way is a nice thing to have, it is just doesn't feel right that you will "need" one to reach to enlightenment.. some people are happier when they don't belong to one particular school, and when you don't have a guru, everything and everyone can be your guru .. and regards David Godman works , i have to say that i really have special respect to this person :) , and i would favor his opinion about Ramna Maharishi and Papaji to any other person's opinion, as he spent his life time objectively studying their lives..
not enough .. gurus effortlessly bring up the crap hidden from one's self concept/self knowledge .. and they teach via silence .. and by example .. a great shortcut, if one is lucky enough to be graced by a guru
when finding a shortcut is great thing ? when you are expecting to reach to a certain place and you have a race with time, but if you have no place to reach, and reaching to a place is as great as walking the way, you won't care about the shortcut, and i'm not trying to be romantic or just say nonsense here, this is exactly how i feel.. and finding a great way to walk in sometimes is greater than the place you are aiming to reach ..
i heard the sentence 'if'your mature enough a guru will come for decades...Well..What if i missed him/her ? you know just missed the bus. flat tire... Or dismissed him/her as fake? New worries to add to the short time that i got left ...If a guru doesn't come soon i need another life....Again...pfff. Maybe I must be honest to myself I accept i am just to immature.

Mahabbeh Mowakket it can be enough for some. Do all you can with what you've got, if you need help im sure it'll turn up.

Yet another person who has the audacity to be a "teacher".
Personally, I like this teaching regarding gurus -- th-cam.com/video/a7qVTGxDB8I/w-d-xo.html
