On my most recent cruise aboard the MSC Meraviglia I took advantage of the opportunity to visit the Marketplace buffet and do a complete tour and food review of the venue. The buffet doesn't look bad at all. I was thinking about avoiding it although based on the other reviews that I've seen.

Hi Bussman! Thanks for the MSC buffet review. Glad you liked everything you tried on their buffet. I had a very different experience on the same ship just 2 weeks ago. The difference was probably that it was a full ship with over 1000 kids during Easter break. It was a packed mess with no where to sit, lines out the door and the same food choices everyday. It was very repetitive and most of the hot food was cold. If tables were empty, they weren't clean as they didn't have enough staff to keep up with the demand. The pizza was very good for cruise pizza. We found it under baked as you couldn't pick it up without making sure all of the topping didn't roll off, again probably because they were pumping them out like crazy to keep up with the demand. After a couple of days we got tired of it. I don't vlog but IMHO it was a 👎 To let you know we've been on other cruise lines at the same time of year and while there were problems the buffet and the situation was much better. I think that NCL and RC buffets are much better. Again, thank you for your honest and thorough opinion, you have a new subscriber!

Thanks for the comments and feedback! Much appreciated! The ship on my cruise had a reported 5300 passengers on board, and like your experience the buffet was slammed every day. I have found buffets on cruise ships are hit and miss quite often, regardless of what line you are in, which is why I normally stick to main or specialty dining…….have a great day! ✌️ peace…….

@@TheBussman We tried 2 specialty restaurants onboard the ship. The Steakplace and Kaito the sushi place and both were fantastic!! We tried them instead of the buffet for lunch and were definitely worth it!! If we sail them again we said we would spend on the specialty dining package.

Yes they do have a gluten free section, along with the regular menu options which are naturally gluten free……..

The grilled (or roasted) chicken piece looks like dark meat ... dark meat *is* typically quite tender.

I have certainly had my share of terrible buffets, for sure, but the food itself on this way was actually good…….peace……..
