Very cool. I have many Christmas CDs by rock, pop, R&B and jazz artists. But there is one that towers over them all. Although he was an immensely flawed human being, it is very hard to beat A Christmas Gift For You From Phil Spector for pure Christmas delight in 13 tracks. It kicks off every Christmas season with my older brother. Merry Christmas, Brendon! Have a nice Saturday night! - Heather
My favorite holiday compilation is called 'The Edge of Christmas.' It's 12 tracks from fantastic artists (Queen, Pat Benatar, Bowie, The Ramones). Really good. Played it while my family was putting up our new tree. But the absolute best holiday album of all time is 'A Charlie Brown Christmas' by the Vince Guaraldi Trio. Unless your heart's made out of coal, it'll definitely get you in the Christmas spirit. And I ordered 'We Wish You a Hairy Christmas.' Can't wait to hear it. THX for the recommendation!
Cool one Brendon!!! when we were young my brother and i used play "christmas carrols" while we were "assembling" the Xmas tree, just put in the deck a dubbed tape of cool hard rock a have a blast doing the job..... i would have been cool to have one of these cd back in the day too.... cheers and be well
I'm not a huge collector of Christmas music albums but I do love the first three Trans-Siberian Orchestra releases a lot. And I do want to get that Cheap Trick album.
Excellent stuff, the mixed bands x-mas CDs r great & fun with all them glam & hair metal assortments!! Have all those and a few more,u'd probably like!!! Also,I have about 2/3's of the rest of the boxsets!! Really good job!!
I have two recommendations that I didn’t see in your collection: the first is from 2005 by The Reverend Horton Heat “We Three Kings”. Nearly 40 minutes of pure Punk/Rockabilly Christmas Gold! And (on the polar opposite of the music spectrum) if you’re looking for a great acoustic guitar Xmas CD, the second is Ottmar Liebert’s 1990 release “Poets & Angels”. I think they might be some good additions to that great collection you’ve got going.
This box was just 35 that I’m showing. As you could see in the video I had more on the wall behind me. The Reverend Horton Heat is another one that I have. I’ve got probably 25 more that weren’t shown.
Halford's Fight had "Christmas Ride" on cd single. My favorites are Tales From The Crypt presents Have Yourself A Scary Little Christmas. Also, Martin Atkins - An Industrial Christmas Carol. Then, Savatage's Dead Winter Dead.
Savatage’s Dead Winter Dead is a great album but it’s not a Christmas album. It’s about the war in Sarajevo. The song Christmas Eve 12/24 was taken from it and played during Christmas by radio stations. It wasn’t even something the band did. When it did so well they knew the only way to capitalize on it properly would be to release a whole Christmas album under another name that wouldn’t be associated from an 80’s metal band. Trans-Siberian Orchestra has released the Christmas albums.
@@BrendonSnyder While it may not be a true Christmas album, it has been a seasonal favorite of mine for decades. Christmas Eve (Sarajevo) has been a point of contention for me. I've read interviews with Jon about how they sent out singles to radio stations and because of the name Savatage, they refused to play it. Flash forward, the exact same recording (TSO didn't re-record it) but now under the TSO banner it became a hit.
With Christmas is coming up soon so my phone ringtones for their phone calls, Texting, & Notification is Schaffer / Barlow Project- Winter Nights Ep until after New Years.
Twisted Sister's Christmas Album was pretty good, I liked most of the tracks on it...I really like Rob Halfords version of We Three Kings... and I'm a big Goo Goo Dolls fan, but I wasn't a big fan of their Christmas album outside of the song This Is Christmas
For me the albums are just an alternative to the classic performances by traditional artists. When I want to get in the holiday mood I have some of my favorite bands doing the famous carols. But as albums by these bands most don’t hold a candle to the original output of the band. So I try not to compare them in that regard. They’re just fun listens that I enjoy once a year.
The original 1998 TSO "A Christmas Attic" album is so much better with the longer 6-minute version of "The World That She Sees." Lava/Atlantic messed up the original by shortening that song (snipping it down to just 3 minutes) when it digitally remastered/reissued the disc by adding bonus tracks. Now the longer version of that song is hard to find. I wish I had the 1998 original album instead of the 2006 digitally remastered reissue. That's the problem with reissued discs.
I admire your dedication and consistency with posting regular videos on your channel.. I enjoy your videos.
Thank you, I appreciate it. I’m glad to hear you’re enjoying things.
I have trouble wrapping my head around Halford doing a Christmas album. 😄
What? No, he’s perfect! Heavy Metal and Christmas work perfectly together…haha 🤘

Thank you Heather for sharing that story! I hope you enjoy your weekend.
My fav (and pretty much only x-mas album I like) is Cheap Trick's 2017 Christmas Christmas. Happy holidays!
It’s definitely a fave of mine too!

The Edge Of Christmas sounds like a good one. I’ll have to check it out.
It's good -- just a little tuff to find for less than $25 at this point.
That is so cool Brendon I didn't know that steve perry released a Christmas album and Rob Halford to very cool
Over the years there have been some surprising yet really good albums released.
Awesome channel, congrats!
Thanks!
I always loved Twisted sister's A twisted Christmas..both the album and the live dvd
Definitely a fun listen!
a guilty pleasure of mine is the Twisted Sister Christmas cd
I’m proud to own all of these in my collection!

Yeah I don’t remember bands doing this back in the day. But now it seems to be a popular thing.
@@BrendonSnyder Cool, just saw Eagles of Death Metal put out "Eodm Presents A Boots Electric Christmas"

The Cheap Trick is so worth it! It’s definitely a favorite every year.

Nice! Glad you’ve got some good ones too! Each year I’m on the lookout for a couple new. This year I found 4.
I might like some of these
The Ho Ho Hoey discs and his live X-Mas shows are yearly traditions. So are TSO

The song Dio sings on has Iommi on guitar and it’s super heavy.
I'm surprised you don't have beach boys christmas helix christmas cd and Jethro Tull christmas cd I guess it's hard to find 😅 great video 🎄🎄
I’ve got The Beach Boys on vinyl.

Last year the band MAJESTICA gave us the "A Christmas carol" album and i think you should really really and i mean REALLY check it out!!!
Not my cup of tea. But I’m glad you’re enjoying it.

Run run Rudolf la guns or lemmy? I say la guns
As a glam metal fan I’d have to go LA Guns.
Keef Richards does a Kool version as well
