Tudor your accent is completely nuts, I LOVE IT & REALLY ENJOYED LISTENING TO YOU! I will wait for the GRIV, I hope the video is decent along with everything you said! Very nice video and thank you for posting.
Great video. I have the IIIx and I'm loving it. But the gr3 with its 28mm intrigues me.
I used by GRiii with the 'Crop' modes asigned to a function button so I could get 35mm and still keep a very usable file size. The Griii can be used as a 35mm - but with a crop. If I was buying another Ricoh I would definitely choose the GR3X.
Love your energy 👍 That was a nice video
Thank you so much 😁
Hi Tudor, luv the channel. I have the GR3X and just became aware disappointingly that when you shoot square crop on raw and jpeg it bakes the crop into the raw file also. Aaaaagh! Do you know any way to get around this? 👍😀
I don't have this problem with Adobe Lightroom classic... From what I remember... But on mobile yes, also with other cameras
28mm is the right choice for layered shots, but a bit more challenging to use. Sometimes there is something to be said for small ILC cameras, then you pack the 28mm and a standard lens;-)
You 'don't' just choose which GR you buy.
You chose which GR you buy FIRST.
(I'd personally go 40mm first, 28mm feels like something i enjoy when there's stuff happening around me ,and I'm trying to capture that story. 40mm feels more appropriate for getting around the same boring commutes , taking my time with a more variety of composition choices. (And honestly ,nothing much happens around here.)
So basically : 28mm- subject priority.
40mm- composition priority.
I think, neither camera is for a beginner, and an experienced user knows what focal length they need.
