    I request the WION team to make a documentary on Tibet, its history, acquisition by China, civil war in Tibet, how Dalai Lama escape and take shelter in India, arising conflict on that with India, attack on India and then return of Chinese military from North east region.

      I strongly second this Important suggestion. India & the World need to know about China’s attack & rape of Lhasa, it’s forcible occupation of Tibet & the Spiritual & Temporal Head of Tibet- the Dalai Lama & his entourage fleeing the Potala Palace & seeking refuge and asylum with his entourage in India, that has given him freedom & liberty to carry on the culture & traditions of the Tibetan people.With The Communist PRC now looking at India as its next victim, India should reverse its attitude towards China after India’s Independence by de-recognizing the PRC & once again recognizing the Republic of China ( present Taiwan) on the understanding that the USA will also do the same. Establish ROC Embassies in their respective countries- sounds far fetched- but so are PRC China’s ambition to dominate the world, the South China seas & the Himalayas

      @Element Buddhism is not disappearing from Tibet. Buddhism is one of the 5 recognised religions of China. Of course the new generation of Tibetans are communist supporters. You do realise 95% of Tibetans were slaves under the Lama aristocracy until their emancipation by Mao. Lookup Slavery in Tibet.

      1988, "joint communique“ between India & China (PM Rajiv Gandhi) states that Tibet is autonomous region of China.
      2003, PM AB Vajpayee, " joint declaration" (upgraded from communique in 1988), India recognises "... region of Tibet as part of the PRChina.“

    China is much concerned about the East and South China Sea. Once Taiwan is re-united with China, peacefully or otherwise, we can see a clear picture.

    Taiwan is a country. Taiwan, officially the Republic of China (ROC), is a country in East Asia, at the junction of the East and South China Seas in the northwestern Pacific Ocean, with the People's Republic of China (PRC) to the northwest, Japan to the northeast, and the Philippines to the south. The territories controlled by the ROC consist of 168 islands, with a combined area of 36,193 square kilometres (13,974 sq mi). The main island of Taiwan, also known as Formosa, has an area of 35,808 square kilometres (13,826 sq mi), with mountain ranges dominating the eastern two-thirds and plains in the western third, where its highly urbanised population is concentrated. The capital, Taipei, forms along with New Taipei City and Keelung the largest metropolitan area of Taiwan. Other major cities include Kaohsiung, Taichung, Tainan, and Taoyuan. With around 23.9 million inhabitants, Taiwan is among the most densely populated countries in the world.
    Taiwan has been settled for at least 25,000 years. Ancestors of Taiwanese indigenous peoples settled the island around 6,000 years ago. In the 17th century, large-scale Han Chinese immigration to western Taiwan began under a Dutch colony and continued under the Kingdom of Tungning. The island was annexed in 1683 by the Qing dynasty of China, and ceded to the Empire of Japan in 1895. The Republic of China, which had overthrown the Qing in 1911, took control of Taiwan on behalf of the Allies of World War II following the surrender of Japan in 1945. The resumption of the Chinese Civil War resulted in the ROC's loss of mainland China to forces of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and consequent retreat to Taiwan in 1949. Its effective jurisdiction has since been limited to Taiwan and smaller islands.
    In the early 1960s, Taiwan entered a period of rapid economic growth and industrialisation called the "Taiwan Miracle". In the late 1980s and early 1990s, the ROC transitioned from a one-party military dictatorship to a multi-party democracy with a semi-presidential system. Taiwan's export-oriented industrial economy is the 21st-largest in the world by nominal GDP and 19th-largest by PPP measures, with a focus on steel, machinery, electronics and chemicals manufacturing. Taiwan is a developed country, ranking 20th on GDP per capita. It is ranked highly in terms of civil liberties, healthcare, and human development.
    The political status of Taiwan is contentious.The ROC no longer represents China as a member of the United Nations, after UN members voted in 1971 to recognize the PRC instead. The ROC (TAIWAN) maintained its claim of being the sole legitimate representative of China and its territory, although this has been downplayed since its democratization in the 1990s. Taiwan is claimed by the PRC, which refuses diplomatic relations with countries that recognise the ROC. Taiwan maintains official diplomatic relations with 13 out of 193 UN member states and the Holy See, though many others maintain unofficial diplomatic ties through representative offices and institutions that function as de facto embassies and consulates. International organisations in which the PRC participates either refuse to grant membership to Taiwan or allow it to participate only on a non-state basis under various names. Domestically, the major political contention is between parties favouring eventual Chinese unification and promoting a pan-Chinese identity, contrasted with those aspiring to formal international recognition and promoting a Taiwanese identity; into the 21st century, both sides have moderated their positions to broaden their appeal.

    Here just a bit of a thought experiment that illustrates that the stark difference between the US and the CCP..
    As much as everyone loves to hate on the US, and point out all the things they do wrong, and how much China is trying to paint itself as the more reasonable more peaceful model of governance, it is quite telling how those sharing borders with the US feel vs how those sharing borders with China feel.
    Regardless of any past history, In the here and now, despite there actually being a few little known territorial disputes, the idea of a military dispute between the US and Canada, or the US and mexico is actually down right laughable. No one in any of the respective countries would even consider it possible.
    Contrast that with China and its neighbors... even though it only shares borders with 14 countries, it has territorial disputes with 18!
    Taiwan, the Philippines, Indonesia, Vietnam, Japan, Russia, South Korea, North Korea, Singapore, Brunei, Nepal, Bhutan, Laos, Mongolia, Myanmar and Tibet.
    and in nearly every case, the threat of military conflict is a very real and ever present danger....
    Xi might try and paint the CCP as some kind of champion of the downtrodden, but his actions speak a VERY different message.

    • @larcm3
      @larcm3 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Have you not read the history of US expansion? All the states they took from the natives and right down to Texas, NewMexico California stolen from Mexico. Or how about how they took Hawaii? It was pure theft. Now that they don't have anything worth conquering they are seen as better than China

    • @michaelransom5841
      @michaelransom5841 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@larcm3 As I stated... "Regardless of any past history"...
      The past is the past, and the wrongs of the past should never be used to justify wrongs in the present.
      What has been done cannot be undone.
      If it were 100+ years ago, we could seek justice for those whom these acts were perpetrated against, but the people responsible for those actions are dead.
      I am not justifying what happened, but If we judge the living by the sins of their fathers then everyone on the planet is guilty, and everyone is owed recompense.
      I'm speaking in the here and now, and of the positions and choices that will affect our lives in the future... Simply put, no one can change the past, but we can learn from it. And the thing that we can change is our actions today. The choice today must be asked, am I justifying acts today that I would have called evil had they been perpetrated by some other culture at some other time.
      So I ask the question, who today has learned from those lessons and is choosing a different path? And who has learned nothing and is choosing to justify doing the exact same things, just in a different place and time?
      And to your statement about nothing worth conquering, you do realize that Canada has the world's third largest proven oil reserves, right behind saudi arabia (That's not counting the unproven reserves in the arctic, which may be MASSIVE), and they have roughly 20 percent of the planet’s freshwater, 30% of the worlds potash, and massive untouched deposits of rare earth minerals.. and that's just a taste.. so I find it an odd postulate to say that "they don't have anything worth conquering"
      (As if conquering anyone is an acceptable behaviour simply due to them having stuff you want, where i'm from that is called theft.).
