[4K SEOUL] A walking tour of downtown Seoul from Jeongdong-gil to Myeongdong

Jeongdong-gil is the most beautiful street in downtown Seoul and one of the famous walking trails. The Jeongdong-gil area is a large museum that records the history of modern Seoul since the Joseon Dynasty. This area is located in the western part of Hanyang City between Seodaemun and Seosomun, and the wall served as a protective barrier, so it developed early on as a residential area for the royal family and noble officials. Palaces and royal tombs were located there.
It was designated as the first "walkable street" by the Seoul Metropolitan Government, and at that time, the two-lane road was converted into a one-lane, one-way road and the pedestrian road was expanded. The road shape was also made winding to prevent vehicles from speeding. It was also designated as a "road without falling leaves" and won the grand prize in the "100 Beautiful Roads in Korea" selected by the Ministry of Construction and Transportation in 2006.
