Hi Shanda! Going back in time with a plan to visit some your past videos. This was a perfect one to begin with. I consider myself a quilter with a side of cross stitching. We share similar tastes in Civil War fabrics and love of historical things. On to another one!
Such a lovely studio and that view - wow! Is didn’t see snow until I was 16. My eldest daughter is 16 next month and keeps reminding me she needs to see snow at 16 also. Thank you for sharing
Your studio is lovely, well done, you are SO blessed to have it, it’s like a piece of artwork. Thank you for sharing your time and your well defined studio. I hope one day you share your knowledge how to make one of your quilts, because the ones you have hanging, they look Amazing. Blessings to you
Thank you, Elizabeth!! I am doing a sew along for 2019 if you want to make a quilt. We just started and would love to have you join us. Watch my latest video on TH-cam for details. Peaceful sewing!!
I just ran across your site and I already know that I want to be you when I grow up! Your studio is so beautiful and I too love your view. You’re very enspiring!
I love your big, roomy, homey studio, holding all the things you love! What a wonderful place to create! I have been moving my studio to a larger space, Yay! My husband has painted it aqua, and I am putting in some red accents. He is helping me today to put up my design wall, which I am going to try, and to hang one of my quilts. It is so fun to put all my favorite things all around me. My biggest problem is my kitties and my ferret getting into my stuff, and checking it all out. I will have to be very diligent about putting dangerous things, like pins, away every day. But I am used to that, and I can deal with it. Besides, a new grandbaby is coming, so we will have to be very careful anyway! Such fun!
Awwwww..... thanks for your comment! It is nice having my favorite things surrounding me and believe it or not, I get more inspiration that way!!!! Happy sewing and welcome to the new grand baby!!
I am sure your studio will be perfect! I enjoy mine - it is a converted one car carriage house. Love it and I am so blessed to have it! Thanks for your nice comment!!
Karen - thank you for watching!! Studios are such endearing places and we are at our best selves while creating in them. Enjoy yours and thanks for the wonderful comment!!
I love your home away from home, your studio. It has so many beautiful things my eyes were captivated, my heart was singing. Thank you for sharing your personal place. I love the statement about the things you love and treasure that you have made. You can tell they are loved. Displayed with Love. raineyC
Hi Shanda, I asked about the house quilt, It is in frame 6:29, and is the 4th one hanging from the left on the pegs on the wall. P.S. Your quilting is amazing!
Oh, yes - now I understand. That quilt top was given to me. A quilting friend had passed away and the family gave me the quilt top and I quilted it in her honor. I treasure that quilt and unfortunately do not have the pattern or pattern name. They gave it to me at least 12 years ago and I do not know how long she had pieced it before that. A photo of the entire quilt will be included in one of my next two or three videos so you can see all the different blocks and maybe design a quilt from there. It is definitely one of my favorites!
No design wall. My quilts are mostly scrappy so no need for a big design wall. Plus I have no room for one. My long arm takes up every other square inch I have, but I love it. Wouldn’t have it any other way... thanks for watching!
I luv your studio so nice. My room is a small bedroom that is really crowded. I paint, scrapbook, journal, crosstitch and of course quilt. I love your sampler on the wall with the birds on the bottom. Do you happen to know the pattern I would love to make it for a friend who loves crows. I am also falling in love w Jo Mortons style as well. Thanks for sharing your studio with us. I love your syle.
Thank you for your warm words!!!!! You are so kind. Give me a few days to look and see if I still have that cross stitch pattern and I will respond back. That was a while ago..... probably 2007 to 2009 maybe. Let me do some digging!!
Sorry to bother you again, but you can also see a close up of that Alphabet Sampler in one of my other videos entitled “Quilt Studio Eye Candy Along the Continental Divide “and it is at frame 3:02. I used Weeks Dye Works thread on that sampler and the fabric was a specialty fabric. I used whatever was listed on the stitching chart. I really bonded with that Sampler and it is one of my favorites! Again, happy stitching!!!!!
Love your studio ! I want to build a space like that for me. We live in same kinda climate I was wondering how you heat it ? I have a longarm also and worry about keeping proper temperature for my machine.
Hi Debbie! Great question. I heat my studio with a propane free standing fireplace/stove. I have another video out there from last Fall and I am sitting in front of my heat source. I’ll send you the name of the video on a moment...
I am going through business planning to start my own long arm business. Space is my biggest obstacle. Our little old house hasn't go enough space for the long arm. We are trying to decide if we'd be better off building a new space, buying a pre-made "shed" or putting a studio in our barn. Your studio looks like just the size I need. Could you share the dimensions of your space?
Hi Mary! Sure. Happy to share my dimensions! It is roughly 14 x 24. It is a converted old carriage house. My husband did some remodel work and put in a propane stove. I love my space!!
What gorgeous views in such an awesome studio, woman you are living the dream💕💕💕💖!
I AM living the dream and have gratitude in my ♥️ heart for that dream. Thank you for the nice comment!

That view!!
Thank you - I am blessed with that view!! I am at the Quilters Station Cross Stitch Retreat and missing my Idaho mountains, but having a great time.
Lovely studio! Love your decor! Do you use/have a design wall?
