I don't know how many times I've watched this in my 60 years and they still fold me over. From looking at my dad rolling off the sofa pissing himself laughing in the early 70s and being amazed because he never laughed so hard at anything, to just recently watching them ending up with a mule on a balcony as my grandson shrieks with joy. These two are like Shakespeare or Beethoven, a testament for the ages to what humanity can create at its best.
I used to watch these two brilliant comedians when I was little. I think it's a crying shame that their work is shown less these days. But it brightens my day to know that your grandson has been introduced to, and clearly loves, their comic brilliance.

This is probably my favourite clip of Laurel and Hardy. What makes it so good is the disapproving looks from the folks at the table behind them, and the reaction of the singer when he spits out the drink. It only gets better when the magnificent Anita Garvin appears and gives the boys their comeuppance.
I went to Ghana 15 years ago to marry my Ghanaian wife and took 3 laurel and hardy DVDs she had 2 children along with other kids they watched the movies and all I could hear were howls of laughter
They both look so young, fortunately, their comedy hasn't aged. The interplay between them is magic, their laughter infectious, even the iced tea, a placebo, making them think (and act) drunk is funny. The greatest double act of all time!

Brilliant. I watched the recent movie made about there life together. At the.end when they where in Dublin I cried. They are quite simply the funniest human beings to ever walk the earth
they nailed their scenes always , all movies need their own touch in order to be good , and they did it and had that always , it takes something special to do that , pure movie legends , may they both rest in peace .

Stan and Oliver: never bettered, never forgotten. What's brilliant about this scene (other than it's masterful execution) is that we have ALL been in a situation where we have been overcome by uncontrollable laughter in enviroments where such would be perceived as socially unacceptable. That's what makes L&H so great... they are so human.
The acting is phenomenal, that immediate transition from hilarity to complete silence is something amazing. That's just one example of why these two are considered one of the greatest double acts ever to grace the screen.
