You could have put audio amplifier in basically all of those decks to be able to guarantee a brann + cthun turn
gotta wait until turn 11 though. its worth it from a mana perspective but not from a time perspective.

it could work in some of these decks but not others. i think the 7 mana 7/7 that you dont need to play on the same turn is good enough. in certain classes you wouldnt even need the amplifier because you can make a coin, biscuit, innervate, ect. audio amplifier is a 2 mana 2/3 do nothing until turn 11. could work but not always. @@ignacioperez5479

I used to play Cthun's Clutch, the pre made deck that came out with WotOG. Adapted it over the months so it would play better and I fell in love with it. It was sad to see it go, but I've always held onto the memory of that deck. I'm glad to see my boy Cthun get some love again
Honestly no joke, this was a great video. I might actually come back to hearthstone now that they made this change to my favorite card. I played C'thun all the time when he first came out and I'm pretty sure I have all his support cards so its pretty damn tempting.
Might as well come back during september for the Twist mode where C'Thun will be playable. C'Thun decks will be much more playable in that metagame than in current wild

29:40 is not a missed lethal btw. There were two taunts up. If you shadowstep the 2/1 or the 4/2 before they attack, you miss that damage. They both die to taunt trades, so you can't attack with them first either. The 2/3 can survive the trade, but if you shadowstep that, its effect won't trigger.

In the rogue one you didn't actually miss lethal because you didn't have a minion that could attack and survive to be shadowstepped
so... Funny thing about C'thuun now. Lorthemar buff is a multiplier of the BASE STATS of the minion. Specifically, puts a buff on it that doubles their stats. If those base stats are somehow raised, well... they're double raised. This shows most easily on Cyclopian Crusher, where it turns into a new minion with the Lor'themar buff still applied to it.

30:16 into the game, there's a tactic mentioned: 'shadowstep a minion, then C'thun.' However, this sequence could lead to a disadvantage. If you shadowstep a minion before playing C'thun, the enemy's taunt minions could block your own minions' attacks. This could be problematic because Rarran minions had lower health than the attack of the enemy's taunt minions, as your minions would likely be eliminated if they attacked. On the other hand, if you perform the shadowstep firstly, you might sacrifice potential damage output
The idea was that if the elemental dealt 2 damage instead of 1 then cthun would have dealt 1 more DMG to the enemy leading to the lethal. Unfortunately, the spell he played has to target a friendly minion, which means one of the other minions has to not lose any excess damage and survive combat, which was not possible. He also couldn't shadow step the elemental because it wouldn't deal the damage. There was no lethal, but rarran also didn't explore that play line.
@@sonic114798999 yeah this is the answer. the people that said lethal di not consider the type of spell nor the 2/3 with taunt that makes it impossible.
To answer Rarran's question, yes, when I draw C'Thun, my toes curl, my breath gets heavier and I bite my lip before flicking my tongue out and looking up to God with my eyes rolled back
The Modern Horizons sets are arguably two of the strongest MTG sets released, exclusively for a format called Modern (comparable to Wild), it and its little brother Modern Horizons 2 had cards designed for the expansive selection of cards and archetypes and had a lot of strong cards to help those archetypes. Modern Horizons 2 especially warped the entirety of Modern around it, making it a controversial set to some.

Have you ever tried tempo c'thun zoolock? I used to play it back in old gods and basically it's a zoolock playstyle with an alt wincon that can slow down and trade into the board in slower matchups using the warlock cthun card for mad buffs then finish them off with the rapidfire. Most control decks used to struggle to maintain enough answers for all the zoo pressure so they just died early, but even if they survive then they burn out of answers by the time I slap down Cthun.
guff druid is the only class that can tank 100+ damage off of cthun, clear multiple boards full of 10/10 or larger minions and win in the end while generating ice block, going infinte with double the mana anyone normally gets and have a cthun as well.
That priest gameplay was spicy.

That rogue game is why streamers should never trust twitch chat when they say lethal. If you shadowstep a minion before Cthun you lose the face damage, and none of the minions survive an attack into the taunts except the 2/3 and if he shadowsteps the 2/3 he doesn’t get the damage from the spell
rarran says he doesn't play battlegrounds but that priest game says otherwise
