Yea but we wanted to do it in a way that actually incorporated using the card. Like win using a card off explore un’goro, in a way that was intended in the card
Can we appreciate the decks he's facing here. That reno shaman was absolutely stoned as hell when he made that deck. Rarran not getting slaughtered bt surrender to madness priest by facing a little timmy deck
3:45 I can imagine a lot of people do. I don’t have a good economy of gold, dust or skill to get many cards but I eventually got enough for the skeleton/hero power package in Nathria, eventually when the hero power package rotated I didn’t get to play my full favorite (and basically only) deck that I really loved playing. So I just took my full hero power mage package into wild with skeleton KT high end
I think the absolute worst was the Priest one because it forces you to build a very bad deck. Warrior one can technically be used as a late game tech against some decks when you feel your deck doesn't offer you a proper wincon anymore, so even if it's bad it has an use
Void contract actually saw some play in some versions of renolock with bloodbloom but i cant remember in which meta. Explore ungoro was actually played this month in some versions of reno or control warrior that included tony. Some only had it in ETC but some had a copy in the regular deck as well.
Evenlock in the rastakhans meta occasionally ran it as it would empty its deck so fast that you net more cards than your opponent by the play, also there were a metric fuckton of combo decks where dusting 1 card (mechathun/shrvallah) from them won the game
@@weebtrash3376 It definitely existed? It was literally the best warlock deck (not the version w/void contract necessarily but it did see play in that version). Genn/Baku were retired after the Rasta expac
One day, I was playing Control Warlock and I faced a Jade Druid. They summoned a 1/1 with Jade Idol on turn 1. On turn 3, I played the 3/3 epic with a battlecry discover a warlock spell and take damage equal to its cost. I ended up getting Void Contract. I knew that the only way I could win this game was by using Void Contract to burn the Jade Idols into their deck. However, I couldn't use it right away because they might still have the card in their hand. So, I waited. When there were only 3 cards left in their deck, they used Jade Idol to shuffle 3 copies into their deck. On my turn, I finally used Void Contract and against all odds burned all 3 copies in a 6-card deck, giving my victory. This was my favorite moment in all my years playing this game.
@@StAngerNo1 if you build your deck right, you can burn through a large chunk of your deck with warrior atm That and since you're a warrior with no actual win con, the discover deck tends to actually be better regardless
I actually built a deck using void contract that got me to legend it was a pretty damn good control deck, the aim was to copy twisting nethers to keep the board clear after you use void contract. To make time for the void contracts, I used king Pharos to build a fat board that they had to clear, which freed up the time I needed to double void contract, and then archivist Elisa to rebuild my own deck. From there it was just about timing your twisting nethers and waiting until your opponent died to fatigue. Only downside was when the deck copied void contract instead of twisting nether
What if the second Dinomancy would upgrade the hero power? Decreasing the cost and making the buff bigger could be valid options but in order to make the card actually playable they could change it so it also: summons a copy of the target, a copy of the target with specified stats (i.e. 3/3) or a Dinosaur with the target's stats (body with no text or perhaps a random Un'goro adaptation). You still have to draw and play both copies of the card but you won't have a dead card in hand/deck after playing the first copy.
During the quest mage/cube lock meta I lost a tournament to a generated Glacial Mysteries created by a Primordial Glyph that pulled his last Ice Block which was enough for him to survive my last turn before he started throwing infinite fireballs at my face and boi does that card live rent free in my head
I recall the Druid and Shaman ones being rather decent during their time. A bit inconsistent and a bit win-more respectively, but hardly terrible. The Warlock and Warrior ones were mostly meme decks, but more "whatever" than outright bad. That said, my one sleeper hit from back in the days was Poisoned Blade. People would mock it and now that better cards (including better "big weapon" payoffs like Kingsbane) are around, it's unplayable, but I used to have my one copy in Reno/N'zoth control Rogue using Finley to swap heropower and it was actually decent to great - decks would usually slam oozes for low value and Poisoned Blade would shine. One of my favorite and best decks to play during Shamanstone era, both on ladder and in tournaments.
@nunyabeezwax6758lmao what? Warrior in wild is either DMH, warsong, Odyn, or Reno. Tony is run in Reno, but ungoro isn't a real card and just isn't worth the deck slot in any deck lmao
