You just have to do your research and learn about the products and technology. Actually much of this information is provided in the AGCO Academy Dealer learning classes. Glad to hear more Massey Ferguson Dealers are coming they are one of the only brands actively expanding dealers. Welcome to the Team! Where is your dealership?
@@VahrenbergImplement Hi, We plan to do the dealership academy real soon. I also want to send our mechanics to I believe a school in Kentucky Not sure if it is there perhaps you may know. We will be located in sunny SW Fl, in a town called Arcadia.
That's cool to see Massey Ferguson growing in Florida. Service School in Duluth Georgia and Hesston Kansas and think they have another location out western USA. We go to Hesston often...they have some good information sharing. Welcome to the Team and be sure to create your own videos. We love seeing Massey Ferguson in action and be cool to see some Florida Action too!
Vahrenberg Implement Thanks again for the quick response! Our plans are to be in full operation on June 1 so far no holdups. By now I think I’m about 40% up to speed on all your videos! We need to make sure we have our videos up and running by June. Question I see that you sell Rino implements is that correct. What do you think of Hesson ? I may not of spelled it correctly? That’s what Massey uses ? Thanks a bunch, Ken
Hesston is Haytools from Massey Ferguson and we sell lots of the Hesston built haytools. We have several videos on them too. RhinoAG made Massey Ferguson labelled Implements when we started selling Massey Ferguson in 2008. We added the RhinoAG line because of additional models and configurations not privately labelled. When Massey Ferguson ended their use of RhinoAG Product we surveyed our customers as to what they wanted and what they thought of Woods Implements. It was by huge majority they wanted RhinoAG. Big thing was Quality, and Reliability of the RhinoAG Products. I'dd rather sell Quality than Price everyday. Much easier to sell and stand behind something you believe in and have less problems makes happier customers and happy customers tell people where to go buy from. Think that is part of the reason we have seen Huge Growith every year since 2008.
Thanks for the great informative videos! I am looking for a replacement for my 1533. Looking at either a 2706e it a 4707. Does either have an egr and/or cooler? Not a fan of those. I work in the automotive field and they don't have a good record. Also just looking for just a diesel oxidation catalyst. Any info would be appreciated. Thank you!
The 2700E & 4707 Global do not require Diesel Particulate Filter or Selective Catalyst Reduction (DEF) they do require EGR & DOC (Diesel Oxidation Catalyst). The 4708, 4709 & 4710 utilizes DOC & SCR/DEF for Emission and do not have EGR. We have not had to do any Emissions Works on any of the 2700E, 4600/4600M (Same Motor as 4700 Global) or 4700 Global Series but very reliable on Massey Ferguson Tractors. I would not be afraid of them with the results and performance we are seeing from Massey Ferguson.
There is no different in the Red (No Road Tax) Fuel and Regular Diesel it's only dye red for Tax identification. It's the exact same fuel. It will not effect the need to regen or dpf life. That is based on tractor operation. Operating at normal operating temperatures will reduce the amount of Particulate Matter and that will reduce regen & increase DPF life.
I am operating a 1739 E. It has shut off on several occasions and then when you turn the key to the auxiliary position to start the tractor it makes a loud constant beeping noise like a back up alarm. All fluids are good. The occurrence of this is completely random. Sometimes it shuts down during operation and other times it will be operating fine and then when you go to start it the following day the alarm sounds and it will not even crank. Pleas advise?
That is Alarm to Alert you have a concern with the tractor. Any Warning Lights on the Tractor? Best to call your local dealer and they can help you. Probably needs to have service tech look at your tractor if Audible Alarm is going off.
Something I also learned when I was driving a semi on DEF it freezes at 32 degrees. Also the regen unit gets really hot, so hot it will start wet grass on fire just from the exoust from the exoust pipe or if the unit is close tp it.
Our DEF System dethaws with the Coolant Heater before you start the tractor and also remains thawed with the AGCO design during operation. AGCO system was test from -30° F to Operating in much less time than the EPS required Hour from Start-up do to the way they keep the system thawed. We only use Diesel Particulate Filters on some Compact Tractors and getting less and less each year.
So I have a question about the Massey systems. Comparing two similar tractors, like maybe the 4707 and the 4708, you mention below that the 4707 uses EGR and the 4708 uses DEF but not EGR. In the case of the 4707, does the EGR cause the engine life to be shortened any like it does in the automotive engines? I'm not real happy about recirculating soot into my engine. However, adding a bottle of DEF to the tractor once in a while isn't so bad. I'm trying to decide which way to go. I want a tractor that will last for many, many years. I realize the DEF is an added expense, but if it keeps the tractor from putting soot into the engine, it might be worth it. What is your opinion on this? Thanks for your help.
EGR is Exhaust Gases Recirculation. EGR has been used for many many years and we have not seen any tractor engine life reduced because of EGR. We personally have not worked internally on any Massey Ferguson Engine since we took on Massey Ferguson Brand in 2008. We do very little engine work even on the older Massey Ferguson Tractors and AGCO Heritage brands we have been selling since 1952. And I can tell you that any EGR Engine has not had a failure because of EGR. In our opinion that is a Myth or Marketing Tactic to scare people. We have seen AGCO DEF System on our Massey Ferguson Tractors increase Fuel Economy because the emission clean-up is after combustion and has no effects of lowering power produced. Exhaust Gases are Oxygen Less Air and Oxygen is what creates Horsepower. You cool the burn with Exhaust Gases you reduce NOx Gases and Reduce the Amount of Horsepower the Engine can create. That is why they use the EGR on the 4707 and not the rest of the models 4708, 4709, 4710. They allow engine to create the needed horsepower and clean exhaust afterwards.
I'm hearing some that attempt to clean but that is another added cost to Exhaust Maintenance with a Diesel Particulate Filter. The main thing is customers need to discuss with their salesmen Exhaust Maintenance, Procedures and Costs so sytems can very expensive to maintain.
I have a DPF MF 1739E It has been trying to re-gen since 10:00 yesterday. It is also beeping. Is there a way i could take the DPF off and clean it myself?
We would recommend contacting your local dealer as it probably need Diagnostic Tool Connected to see what is not working correctly or dealer REGEN may need to be performed.
When drove semis the last few years the 1st hat the dry regen then later had the def systems the def kept freezing ant could not regen below 0degrees the regen unit wouldn't get hot enough.
Sounds like they need to reengineer their designs. That might be one benefit of Massey Ferguson is they design & build the complete tractor to work together. AGCO owns the Manufacturing, Engine and Engineering department so they 100% control of everything that goes into the product where may Semi-Truck brands purchase engines and components from different vendors.
AGCO builds Massey Ferguson and are governed by similar policies by the EPA and actually more stringent Global Regulations and they design the system to work. They could deign the engine coolant to keep DEF thawed like tractors do too. Actually tractors must have DEF System working within 1 hour of start up no matter the temperature so they are more stringent than EPA for trucking it sounds. Sounds like Trucking industry needs to catch up to the Ag industry.
We have since 2009 when AGCO was the first to add DEF Selective Catalyst Reduction Technology to tractors. Seen 15% better fuel economy and more power & better performance too from those 8600 Series and continues to grow today.
Welcome to the World of Clean Air Regulation for all vehicles. Massey Ferguson is doing the best to reduce maintenance and maintain or in DEF Engines it has increase fuel economy and power for tractors. Don't think we are ever going backward and with current administrations it may be getting more stringent regulations.

Thanks for the video, is the frequency of the regen cycle and/or the lifespan of the filter effected by whether red or green diesel is being used?

The filter can be cleaned just like a semi trucks system. Cleaning can damage the filter though

The exhaust system is built and routed on the semis the way the epa and dot require it to be
