La Basilica di San Giovanni in Laterano

Paolo Portoghesi, architetto di fama internazionale, ci racconta San Giovanni in Laterano, la madre di tutte le chiese, per conoscere arte e storia racchiuse in questa basilica.
In esclusiva per il film sono state riprese le nicchie ai lati della navata, progettate da Borromini, con le statue dei 12 apostoli, durante l’unica ora del giorno in cui il sole le illumina!

It is amazing how light from the windows opposite the sculptural figures in apses (right side of the nave) hits those statues directly, as if to place them in a spotlight. Obviously this does not occur every day because of the changing solar angle, but that phenomenon is dramatically captured in this video. Someone in the production of the video was very astute in setting up this sequence.
