I remember seeing Anvil in Sudbury Ontario Canada around 1985 at a bar called Big Als. I was aound 18 years old, sitting right by the stage smoking hash and nobody bothered us. Those were the days
Just saw the documentary I’ve lived just a bit of this life in ‘86-‘90 But recognized the BS in the industry A&R, record companies even the venues at times can squash the excitement of what we produce I never drank or got into the silver platter of drugs so I think I bailed Conscience of how we were getting screwed, always someone in the middle making the money and non stop lies BTW @ 1:05 lips’ older sister is speaking and dawning a necklace that looks like it says “Anvil” is that the case?
I love Anvil, but dear old LIPS comes across as a bit of a dim-wit. His logic for not wanting to release live DVD's or Live albums is so stunned! Anvil tours are pretty limited, making it very challenging for the average joe to find a venue within a thousand mile radius just to see them????? I also believe that as a three piece, they sound pretty bad. Get a rhythm guitarist! I saw Anvil in Vancouver in '88 or '89 with Squirrelly and they kicked ass. Dave Allison had a great stage presence and was a great rhythm guitarist( plus, his tunes were the best...Hard Times,Fast Ladies is a standout).
In this era of less money in music, with higher costs in touring and traveling, I'm assuming the three piece approach is one of economical efficiency- one less guy to feed and pay. I get it
New fan here. Loved the movie.

The interviewer sounds like the little puppet king character in Mr Roger’s…
