One of the most popular bands currently in New Zealand. This song was biggest selling record in 2020. Amazing band live. Please check out their earlier music. ‘Controller’ (2017) which was also a big hit that year was re-released due to the popularity of ‘In The Air’ and ‘Rocketship’ (awesome promotion album track) The band mostly composes reggae music, with a mix of electronic, blues, rock and funk music.
Aotearoa New Zealand at its finest, the live version in the studio is wicked. You should check out Stan Walker covering Ultra Light Beam by Kanye West

lead singer is Joel Shadbolt .. and yes the band's name is the letters L . A . B .. there's also 2 brothers in the band Brad & Stu Kora from there band Kora(also heaps of bangers from there band) .. and Ara Adams Tamatea, the bass player is from the band Katchafire (another iconic nz band with yes, you guessed it, mega- bangers)
L.A.B. have plenty more to listen to. Teeks & Six60 are well worth diving into as well. Lots of great NZ talent out there, enjoy!

L.A.B members are Brad Kora (Drummer/BV), Stu Kora (Guitar/Keyboard/BV), Ara Adams Tamatea (Bass/Keyboards), Miharo Gregory (Keyboards/BV) and Joel Shadbolt (Lead Guitar/Vocals). Originally the acronym stood for founding members Laughton & Brad from iconic reggae roots band Kora, before Laughton left and Joel, Stu, Miharo joined the band. I'm unsure so don't quote me on it but I suspect the A in L.A.B stood for Ara (Bass/Keyboard player) from another iconic reggae roots band Katchafire. Thank you for reacting and sharing a little of what we listen too here in NZ, with your subscribers and the wider global audience. When music sounds this chill, smooth may seem so simple that the vibe infects the very core of our being. You both were clearly vibing to this one, good positive uplifting music that makes you want to move, whether you're on your feet or grooving in your seat, fuel for the soul. L.A.B. are one of New Zealands finest bands out there,check out some of their live performances,and these guys are way better than the over-rated and extremely boring Six60,who admittedly are very popular here in NZ,and really media savvy,but are BORING !

@@bittersweet340 no assumption there - nothing original going on with 660,as I said,they're very media savvy,so know how to sell their muzak,they're not pioneers putting anything original out,and yes you're right - it is my opinion,but I have many,many associates in the NZ music scene who are of the same opinion,and that isn't the NZ tall poppy syndrome going on. If you like them - fine,I can easily live without hearing them,and it certainly is my choice.
