I tried this making this dress and for the top part I found that decreasing by one stitch doesn't make the triangle part come in enough. It didnt start to look like the video until I decreased by 2 stitches. It actually looks like in the video she chains one, goes into the second stitch (not the first), then skips the 3rd and goes into the fourth. Just thought that would be helpful to anyone trying this out. Dont know if that is what she did for sure as it's kind of hard to see in the tutorial. It might save you guys some time as I was very confused and kept counting my stitches over until I realized I needed to decrease by 2. Great dress by the way!! I'm hoping that mine looks as good when I'm finished 😍😍
When you chain up to start the next row you never crochet the very first stitch because your chain will count as the first crochet. Your first crochet should always be the second stitch( if you want it even). If you want to increase you crochet the very first stitch. That's why she says skip the second and not the third.
Yea I noticed her do that too, I guess that's just her way of decreasing as opposed to doing 2 stitches together. It's interesting, but I guess the normal way would make a clustered or bunched look otherwise? I want to try this pattern out later and experiment on that. Thank you for pointing that out!
Okay, this is the most wonderful thing I have ever seen... STUNNING, KRYSTAL 😍 This is amazing, thank you so much for taking the time to not only make this and share it with us, but to actually show us how to make this ourselves. You are awesome and much appreciated ❤
I JUST came from the crochet halter top video. It looks really good! Its funny because after i finished that video i thought "wow this shirt is pretty i wonder fi i could somehow make it in to a dress!" I looked up how to crochet a dress. I clicked this one and mt jaw DROPPED whn I realized that it was the same top and i got so excited and realized I ran out of yarn.
I have been crocheting for 3 years now and I have made a lot of my clothes and like hair stuff and I posted my stuff one IG and I do a lot of clothes by my head and by your videos. Think you for your videos ❤❤❤❤
I love it! I’m trying to find a cute dress to make but almost all of them are for babies! I also love how this can be made in any size for any person! Edit: I forgot to say that you just earned a new subscriber!
Making this right now, I started on it two days ago, still on the skirt part and will hopefully be done by tonight or HOPEFULLY (God please) tomorrow. My hands are cramping because I just spend all day working on it and dont wanna stop because its woeking out so perfect
Love this! Wish you can do a tutorial on tops with sleeves or a dress as well with sleeves.i am conscious with my fat arms so i dont think i would look great as you in this dress
OK so to be honest you were my first person that I watch when I created my first outfit really my first thing when I started crocheting you are so easy to watch I won’t get bored and I am determined to do it since it’s so easy any other craft I was just kind of give up because they are explaining everything like you do I absolutely love your channel you’re amazing at what you do don’t give up no matter what
I’m making this dress and it’s going super great! Unfortunately it’s taking forever because my parents are pretty strict about how short a dress can be and I have to make it super long... it’s taking so much yarn and I’ve already done so many rows but it’s till too short for them.
actually, that's not how you decrease. maybe you skip a stitch simply because you prefer that, but just in case you don't know, here is how to decrease double crochet. yarn over, put your crochet hook in the first stitch, yarn over, pull the crochet hook through the stitch. you should have 3 loops on your hook. yarn over and pull through 2. up to this point, this should all be familiar, it's standard procedure for making a double crochet. to finish, you would normally yarn over and pull through the remaining loops, but we are decreasing, so instead yarn over and insert your hook into the next stitch. yarn over, pull through the stitch, yarn over and pull through 2. you should have 3 loops on your hook at this point. yarn over and pull through all 3. and done, you have now turned 2 stitches into 1 stitch without the gap from simply skipping a stitch.
Melissa She said in the beginning she used to skeins of hobby lobby’sI love this yarn… But if you’re making a dress for a bigger size or a smaller size you’re going to use a different amount of yarn… Because the first thing you do is crochet a chain that goes around your body. But for her so I specifically she used to skeins of the hobby lobby “ I love this yarn” ... that helps :-)
Thank you so much, I am so glad you like it! :D It was my first attempt at a crochet dress, so I am SO glad that you actually think it looks good too! :D
It’s probably way late for this but Mine was about bralette length so made a 3 inch ribbed band across the bottom and it came out perfectly! It also takes away the bunching on the back of the dress like in the video. If you measure the same as she does but do a double crochet ribbing around it cinches and stretches perfectly and creates a silhouette shape. I wish I could show you!!

When I decrease, I 2tgo then ch2 skip very first stitch went into the 2nd one (double st) till last two stitches then 2tgo. Repeat.
Only saw your comment after I tried and the top was so big
Thanks :) he explanation isn't very clear. But nice project :)

I know this is like 3 years too late but I think if you made the top part higher and added sleeves like in a sweater it could look good
A new gorgeous pattern 😻🙌🏻 I can't wait to try it..
And do you take tutorial or crochet ideas? I was wondering if you could try thigh high socks 🌻
OK so to be honest you were my first person that I watch when I created my first outfit really my first thing when I started crocheting you are so easy to watch I won’t get bored and I am determined to do it since it’s so easy any other craft I was just kind of give up because they are explaining everything like you do

I thought your next video would be a skirt or bag but it was truely a adorable dress. Thank you for your videos.
Put some stretch shorts underneath it I love to dance if I have on a dress I will put some stretch shorts underneath or boots shorts
can’t wait to make this!!!! AAAAAA it’s so cute
It was really easy! The waistline ended up a bit lower than I wanted but it looks really cute!
Can half double crochet also work for the entire project, instead of using double crochet?
OMG!! THIS IS GORGEOUSSSS!!!😍😍😍😍 I'm so gonna try this! thank you so much for this tutorial❤️
Thank you so much! :D Have fun crocheting x)
I love this! And thank you for making them so easy to follow!
Hi Krystal, first you did an awesome job on this dress. I wanted to know can this dress be made with bra cups instead of a halter top?

Love!! This is so cute! Definitely going to try this!!
Hi 💖 can I use a thinner tread and get the same result??
So doing this tomorrow! What yarn did you use? Do you have a link for it?
I love it ! I want to crochet it for my birthday 👏👏 regards from Monterrey México
I’m making this dress and it’s going super great! Unfortunately it’s taking forever because my parents are pretty strict about how short a dress can be and I have to make it super long... it’s taking so much yarn and I’ve already done so many rows but it’s till too short for them.
If I wanted to use single crochet, would I have to decrease the halter part on every other row? And the same for the skirt?
This is beautiful. Great design and excellent video!
I am honestly going to recreate this for my daughter tell me where i can share it with you
Omg! This is so beautiful, thanks for this tutorial.
Do i make a dc in thevery first chain of the very first five rows of the halter top
This is gorgeous! Thanks for creating this!
actually, that's not how you decrease. maybe you skip a stitch simply because you prefer that, but just in case you don't know, here is how to decrease double crochet.
yarn over, put your crochet hook in the first stitch, yarn over, pull the crochet hook through the stitch. you should have 3 loops on your hook. yarn over and pull through 2. up to this point, this should all be familiar, it's standard procedure for making a double crochet. to finish, you would normally yarn over and pull through the remaining loops, but we are decreasing, so instead yarn over and insert your hook into the next stitch. yarn over, pull through the stitch, yarn over and pull through 2. you should have 3 loops on your hook at this point. yarn over and pull through all 3. and done, you have now turned 2 stitches into 1 stitch without the gap from simply skipping a stitch.
This is unbelievably perfect! 😍
Thank you so much!! I am so glad you think so xD
Hello can you state where you purchase your materials...hopefully an online store...thank u in advance
If I'm making this as a blouse and I need the flare to start at the waist, can I put three double crochets every ten stitches instead of two dc?
That would probably work, or you could just increase two every 5 or so stitches so it gets bigger
Can i make the top wider and sew it on the back?
Wow!! That is amazing!! Great job 😄
Thank you so very much ^_^
I want to ask you how many yarns do we need for this project?
I like your explanation of your pattern.

Hi Krystal, about how much yarn did you end up using for this?

My halter top ended up as a crop top so idk how i xan continue with the dress
It’s probably way late for this but Mine was about bralette length so made a 3 inch ribbed band across the bottom and it came out perfectly! It also takes away the bunching on the back of the dress like in the video. If you measure the same as she does but do a double crochet ribbing around it cinches and stretches perfectly and creates a silhouette shape. I wish I could show you!!
