This is the generator I want. When the time is right, I'll use your link to purchase it on Amazon. Thanks for the review!

Awesome! And thanks! The dual fuel one is pretty cool as well. We like the fact it’s remotely started and not very loud at all.

Great information thanks! I am about to do my first oil change on my new Champion and the instruction manual doesn't tell where that drain plug is. Knowing it takes a 12mm socket helps too and the solo cup idea is great. I put an inexpensive ($15.00) hour meter on mine. Super easy to install and helps you to change your oil every 50 hours. I also bought a magnetic dip stick for it. Catches any metal shavings in the oil. I subscribed and gave you a thumbs up.

Thank you so much!!! Our generator is cranking away as we speak! Used it all weekend boondocking. 😁

I kept the oil container that came with the unit. It is .6 qt (.6 Ltr). It saves never overfilling it.

I just bought on Clearance a new 3500 Dual Fuel Version and do far I love it. I use the Propane so I do not have to worry about gas and long term storage or carrying a gas can around in the back of my truck. I also like that the exhaust from Propane is greatly less toxic than gas. Other plus is the propane seems to run with less noise than gas. Downside is this gen set is heavier than the 3100 and mine does not have a remote. Why...because with propane you have to turn off the gas to turn the generator off....this is for safety since it purges the gas from the lines so you can disconnect....so the remote could turn it on, but not off...so I guess this was a why bother moment for the engineers. Anyway...great generator...great value.

A good friend of ours wants that version. Where did you find it on clearance? He’s been wanting it forever lol

@@AlliChuckAdventures Gander Outdoors is closing down and they have been having big Clearance sales in the stores. They are selling everything with some discounts as much as 70%. This was a few weeks back so I do not know what the status is now. I bought the Gen as well as a ton of other maintenance items and replacement vents for the roof, etc. The Gens for going for 50% off. We got the last one of these I might add and we just beat someone in the door so 2 minutes later we would have been out of luck

I’m a solo cup expert from drinking beer. Looked like an 18 oz cup. You May have been a little low on oil. Try Amsoil Small Engine 10w30. I don’t sell/not a dealer but man it has kept our Champion 75537i going for over 1000 hours, runs like new.

Thanks for reminding me, it’s time to change our generator oil:-( As easy as it is, it’s never fun! We have similar generators but ours is the dual fuel. We hook up a 20 gallon propane tank and it lasts for a really long time. Overall we agree Champion has great products, especially for RVers!

Awesome!!! Congrats!!! Yeah I memory serves me correctly the manual said something like running it for few hours with no load put on it. I’ll see if I can check the manual when I get back home.

my champion 3100 keeps saying OVERLOAD without anything being plugged in. what can this be, is there an easy fix?

    • @AlliChuckAdventures

I’m not by my generator right now to where I can see, but is there a reset button or a possible fuse blown?

@@AlliChuckAdventuresits a Champion 3100 inverter from 2014, rarely used, only tested it monthly a few hours at a time, i do not see a reset button, it turns on no problem, but after 3 seconds the overload light starts to blink, but nothing is plugged in using power, i am a bit confused, i changed the oil and drained the gas, then put new gas and oil. but that red overload light still comes on.

Hi AlliChuck. To let you know, your Amazon link for the Champion gen is no longer valid. Also, I just spoke to Danny this afternoon at Champion (Santa Fe Springs, CA), who mentioned it's not necessary to remove the drain bolt. He said it's fine to drain oil in the same place you initially add it.

    • @AlliChuckAdventures
      @AlliChuckAdventures  4 ปีที่แล้ว

Oh ok thanks for that! I’ll update the link and good to know about the oil too!

I’m pretty sure you’ll get more oil & foreign material coming out by removing the drain plug plus it’s so easy. Also good to warm it up some before draining.

What kind of oil you use for the generator.

I’d have to re check what it called for but I’m pretty sure it was just 10w30

Well now I will never buy a Champion Generator. Dude cleanup your machine you are on the verge of being denied entrance into the Generator Lovers Associations Devotees hall of fame. If you are concerned your oil was too dirty. Keep some cheap oil on hand, drain your oil and refill with the cheap stuff then run the unit for a while and drain and refill with good oil. This will get rid of most of the small metal particles that damage engines. Thanks.
