This game really changed my life. My cousin passed away a year ago now, and we were pretty much the same age (he was 22) and we grew up together. We both had our own siblings but we really understood each other. Anyway, I hadn't really ever lost anyone that I was close with until him, as all my grandparents passed away when I was young. Ever since his passing I got back into gaming, because of Lockdown and that, but just randomly playing different games. I didn't realise how much this game would affect me, like so much learning in terms of Grief, how to cope, how to carry on, how to walk by relics of loved ones now gone, like I've never been so emotional but in a healthy way before. To be okay with missing people out of nowhere and crying about it, feeling angry that they leave us so abruptly, but damn this game has taught me so much maan. And it doesn't help with the music, because me and my cousin had plans to make a band just cause I loved making music, and he was great at singing. So now, all these deep emotions and wonderful memories are almost relived every time I hear the music. It's both heart-warming & heart-wrenching at the same time, so I just wanna say thank you for this masterpiece, both game & music. And I'll always love and miss you couz ❤️
Really sorry for you loss, sounds like you and your cousin had an amazing relationship, you have my deepest sympathies. Glad the game and music could bring you a little comfort in these difficult times, hope you'll be able to form that band one day!
@@MaxLLMusic For me the thing that makes the game so memorable is I could tell every emotion that was intended to be felt. You acknowledging comments like these just shows how much you care, and that seeps into your music wonderfully. I think if you were just listening to this music alone, you would think it's good, but nothing special. However, once you know the context, it becomes a masterpiece. I remember playing through Spiritfarer for the first time, and when I met Alice, it terrified how much it resembled my grandmother. My grandmother loved needle felting, and had the largest collection of romance novels I had ever seen, always with some big strong man going on an adventure. This was around the time she was diagnosed to Parkinson's disease, which made Alice's immobility hurt beyond words. For the first time in about 7 years I cried when I took her to the everdoor. But it taught me the skills necessary to process grief, and instead of being sad when my grandmother passed, I felt mostly joy for the time I had spent. The day after she passed, I started another play through of Spiritfarer, and played until I once again picked up Alice. My original plan was to play until I got to hug her, but instead I played until I was able to take her to the everdoor. Now Alice's theme is the most comforting piece of art I know. It's not just because I formed an attachment to Alice, but it's because the piece reminds me so much of the energy of my grandmother. The score you created helped me and so many other people, I could honestly never repay you. @Witbix Kid , I relate to your statement on how the music makes you feel so much, and I am sorry for you loss, yet glad you found this game just as healing as I did. If you ever end up making music, and you remember this comment still, I would love to check out your music sometime if you could let me know where to find it in the replies.
Sometimes I’d be at the front of the ship and watch the beautiful sky and relaxing and this part of the soundtrack makes it much better Thank you for making this, not only this part of the track but the entire soundtrack is just awesome. Be it because it’s relaxing, beautiful, emotional or something else.
This song fits so well, the airey lightness of it feels very soothing and calm. Even ready for an adventure, despite the sad undertaking.. but aside from the slower sounds. The majority of this song fits the smooth sailing tone of an ever-perfect cruise, silence and calmness.
I have depression and this song makes me feel very happy, as if there were no sadness, no discomfort, as if it were a version of me where everything was fine before. The game is amazing and the music? wonderful, thank you for creating something so beautiful. Thank you. ❤
this song brings me so much peace.... i played spiritfarer when it first came out and it still makes me feel like i'm waking up calmly on a sunny day-off. thank you so much, max. this ost is unforgettable.
It's amazing how well the soundtrack captures the mystery and wonder of the EverWorld for me. Oceans that barely make waves, traveling the high seas in peace, barely any obstacles to let you enjoy yourself with some fun or some tedium work. This is truly a track of Peace and calming day with the wind gently blowing in your hair.
UK lockdown number 3 hitting different now that I got this artistical masterpiece of a game to cosy up with. Thank you Max for yet another amazing, goose bump inducing soundtrack
I like how in almost every song you hear the one sung in the credits. Maybe I’m looking too much into it, but it’s like death itself. We don’t realise it was happen until it does, and then we start to take notice of it all. Life, the happy and the sad, and the end.
I'm so much in love with the soundtrack to this game in general, but this exact song.... it's something I've never thought I would ever feel I'm the type of person that loves listening to instrumentals, and even if I listen to normal songs, lyrics are definitely not the thing I concentrate on. It's the melody, the way people sing those lyrics, that's what always mesmerizes me. And well... to say that you did a fantastic job on spiritfarers soundtrack would be an understatement. I just love always picking out one instrument and try my best to "listen through" all the music and somehow concentrate on only one. This is a "game" I guess I play all the time haha. AND OH MY GOD the way you use flute, is like... I have no words, only shivers every time I listen to the part where the notes go a little bit faster, I always wait for this part and feel something special each time. 1:00 is where the real magic starts!! I struggle a lot with generalized anxiety and can't count how many times your music helped me stay sane thank you so so much, you're the most fantastic talented person I've ever seen on the internet, I'm so happy I could tell you this
I've just recently (as in like, just yesterday) found out about this game. Oddly enough I just found it randomly downloaded on my Xbox, figured I'd try it since, y'know, why not? And I quickly fell in love with it. It's one of my top favorites, despite how I kinda bashed it a bit, going in completely blind. This track in particular though, I love hearing it every time I'm on the sea. Always makes me feel so, relaxed and peaceful, in contrast to the stress I've been having recently. So honestly, thank you for this song, it's my current favorite out of all of my music and probably will be for a very, very long time.
This whole sound track relives my stress, anger, sadness, ect. so much and I have song of growth practically memorized from how much I listen to it. tysm so for the beautiful, reliving, "sleepy", and from one of the best games ever soundtrack. 😌😌😌😌❤❤❤❤
I just started playing this today. With Kevin conroy and Hagrid dying recently just randomly when I was paused just started crying. Just an hour in and it's incredible. Music is so beautiful and deep
Merci ❤
I am going to be honest, I bought the game two times (one on epic and one on steam bundle) just for the sake of having the pleasure of hearing the ost at any time

to me 1:30 - 2:10 sounds like the sadness from leaving and the part after like the spiritfarer trying to comfort and say it's going to be ok

This Soundtrack is in its entirety absolutely amazing, Max LL. This game would't have been the same without it.
Amazing
Honestly beautiful. :)

Its so beautiful
this song is just beautiful, it saved me in bad times😅
This ost is so beautiful
Bought the game becuase of the music. I didnt know you also did Jotun.
This reminds me of Thomas Newman's "Any Other Name" from the American Beauty Soundtrack ^_^
I am going to be honest, I bought the game two times (one on epic and one on steam bundle) just for the sake of having the pleasure of hearing the ost at any time
the song hurts differently when you are the last passenger on this ship
This sounds very Thomas Newman! Nemo Egg or Any Other Name 💖
this is so lovely, would love to learn it on a guitar.
