Yeah, he's out of it and low energy, which is sad because the musicians are doing amazing. Kind of disappointing really, and this is one of my favorite albums ever.
Who’s still listening to this in 2022?! Del’s voice is dope, but the music is easily in the top 3 of any hip hop song ever written.

I know it's been 5 years since you asked this question, but the bass guitar is a Goya Panther, a Japanese instrument from the 1960s.
It's a little upsetting. This song is SOOO good, I love it, and the orchestra and talent behind him could have made this live version insane. But Deltron is either drunk or on drugs here. He slurs his words, lyrical mess ups, no energy, doesn't keep up with tempo. It's a little upsetting to see a great artist get wasted and not do justice to his own creation. I would feel robbed as an audience member at the show. Better luck next time.
This is how he is at most of his shows. I surprised he stood up the whole time. He usually likes to squat and make up his own words. It's a live performance, you cant expect perfection.
I'm sure the less than 200 people who were guests of KEXP didn't mind. If you don't like seeing stars perform effed up stay home & listen to the cd
