@@MarioElFather What do you think about Mastermind, Positive contact? Pure annihilation of the normal. If tracks was a metal compound they'd be made of gold mixed with gold.
"they said my sentence was equivalent to murder. Just another hurdle. I bounced through a portal" that fucking line is why I love this album and this group. So fucking abstract and cool AF. It's like if Ray Bradbury wrote a hip-hop album.
Yeah, he's out of it and low energy, which is sad because the musicians are doing amazing. Kind of disappointing really, and this is one of my favorite albums ever.
The trombonist is my wife in the next life. And the drummer, he’s in charge of the bachelor party. The layers and depth of everyone on stage is psycho awesome.....
Wait now I know why “I used to be a mech soldier but I didn’t respect orders.” Now I want to see a old gritty looking anime opening of this like Big O.
Just watching this for the first time in...maybe a full decade. And I instantly remembered how much an impact this album had on me for a couple formative college years. Looking back now, I still think Del was a real original (how many even attempted to emulate him?). But I think one characteristic of his species - the *homo sapiens sublimus* - is their ability and willingness to collaborate with a broad spectrum of their peers. Collectives, yes - but inclusive. Anway, I really am doing my best to fight a genetic predisposition toward preaching at "you youngins about the good ol' days!" of hip hop. Or anything else, for that matter. I'll just put forward my claim: it really was a kind of golden age - the late 80s through the early 00s - for a whole lot of us. Still is.
It sounds like whales are singing in the beginning 1:47 soo beautifully mastered! Get goosebumps to my head! Need to play this song🎵 at 3030! Luv how Automater looks at the crowd when his name is mentioned!💗

It's a little upsetting. This song is SOOO good, I love it, and the orchestra and talent behind him could have made this live version insane. But Deltron is either drunk or on drugs here. He slurs his words, lyrical mess ups, no energy, doesn't keep up with tempo. It's a little upsetting to see a great artist get wasted and not do justice to his own creation. I would feel robbed as an audience member at the show. Better luck next time.
This is how he is at most of his shows. I surprised he stood up the whole time. He usually likes to squat and make up his own words. It's a live performance, you cant expect perfection.
Give DEL a break!! Of course he's not going to sound like on the record exactly... Oh😢 he might be stoned...SHOCKER GUYS 😮He might party a bit guys but man does he create some amazing art🎉...
You don't know who you are talkin' about @Trevor, Del is the little cousin of Ice Cube and he's one of the most underrated artist in hip hop ever ! Go check him work !
One of the best hip hop songs ever.
💯💯💯 you peep to 3040 shit yet? 🔥🔥🔥

Exactly.
"FUCK DYING, I'LL HIJACK A MECH"
Takes me back to high school and college days. I'm 34 and have 2 kids and still rock this song
Same here

Who’s still listening to this in 2022?! Del’s voice is dope, but the music is easily in the top 3 of any hip hop song ever written.
When those funky drums kick in, I feel tingles go down my spine.
Mmmmmmm frfr 💯💯💯 and drummer feeling it!
I'm in love with this performance, Dan is really a genius producer
Criminally under appreciated
Nice combo of genres/instruments/arrangements. Good stuff.
The trombonist is great. It's so loud and she's so enthusiastic
Yo if he wasn't baked this would've been the best hip hop performance of all time for me honestly
LOL thought I was just imagining shit. Dude's off-planet here

He definitely is I saw him do this set live and he was way more jovial
This Album is one of the greatest albums of our time...
too bad Del is wasted. He kills it on the album and this is one of the most meaningful songs of the 2000s decade

The way that brass hits, it sounds like one of those old mech anime themes or openings.

Cool
What bass is he using?
delmar3skate I was just thinking the same thing.
That bass piece is ill af!
I know it's been 5 years since you asked this question, but the bass guitar is a Goya Panther, a Japanese instrument from the 1960s.
Why doesn't he say "Opio"
This is crazy better than the actual recording
You were high.. are you still high?
