Where you stayed, the DoubleTree, isn't a far walk to downtown Chinatown (10-15min walk west from your location across Dundas). And a lot of places open till late due to the entertainment district nearby. I don't know how many of them are on Uber or DoorDash, but I know they'd be on Panda at least. But flying into Billy Bishop could have been a blessing in disguise, since its right downtown. Pearson is maybe 40mins by UPExpress, at least 30mins by Uber/taxi (traffic depending, and its usually busy), and public transit could take you 1h. So if your hotel was out near the airport, and all your destinations are downtown, expect a lengthy commute.

Thanks for the insider tips! I never knew about Panda- will definitely use it next time. Yea I had NO idea about this Billy Bishop vs Pearson and think it turned out to be for the better that I flew to Billy Bishop!

Well done sir..clearly you have good taste. Toronto is one of the most diverse cities in the entire world, and vast cuisine matches that to high standards I feel. Lots of great places from every nationality you can think of, Toronto has it

Those small jets don’t fly into the main international airport. The larger Porter jets fly out of Pearson.

Toronto is the testing ground for a lot of Asian food chains when they want to expand to the West. They get lots of exclusive chains even before SF or NY like Uncle Tetsu (Japan), Hot Star (Taiwan), Kinton (Japan) etc and they also get the trendy NY chains like Momofuku. But the star cuisine of Toronto is the Trini food - roti, doubles, aloo pie etc.

That’s interesting! I really felt they had a better Asian food scene than any city in the US! Very jealous😂
